The answers were less than what she had been hoping for, but Ember supposed that Hydracat wasn’t just going to give out personal information so carelessly. It probably wasn’t the time to be asking questions like that either, but hey, conversation would make this feel a lot more real and easier to take. Ember thought she was handling it rather well and would give herself that much credit, but at Hydracat’s questions she remembered that the ordeal wasn’t quite over yet. Telling the information she knew would probably be helpful to the situation.
“People come up to us and claim to be doing charity work, except they never come alone.” Ember said, thinking over her response. It was hard to pinpoint what was really suspicious when she had become suspicious of mostly everyone. She didn’t take things at face value, partly due to her protective nature. “I know that some hang around and try to befriend us before they ask us to come with them to somewhere safer. They never give details when they’re asked questions, so not many agree to it.”
At the next set of questions, Ember gave a slow nod. “People come and go, others...they’re here one day and gone the next. No one ever finds a trace of them. Usually though, once someone disappears we don’t see anyone else hanging around us for a while.”
Now that she was thinking this through, little details were starting to add up. She’d never paid much attention to the pattern before, since she was never directly involved with any of this, and she wished that she would have connected the dots sooner. “As for metas, we lay low. I’ve met a few but it’s not something we share that openly if we can hide it. But lately I haven’t seen any of them around here.”

Kat narrowed her eyes slightly; she never had concrete proof until now and hearing her suspicions confirmed just made her blood boil. All those kids that had been taken, all those lives cut short and used as guinea pigs for The Lights twisted gains…and her being too late to do anything to stop them.
She exhaled slowly, letting herself cool down, she could be angry later right now this girl was her main priority. ”Those kids you were with, are any of them metas?” It would be good to get a head count to see just how many they were dealing with here.

“No, just me.” Ember answered with a small shake of her head. Sometimes it was a burden being the only member of the group with the weird powers, but after thinking all of this information through she was glad to be the only odd one. This chaos was too much to put on them. Though Ember feared what would happen since she had been discovered; especially since tonight had revealed her to her apparent enemies. Glancing to the side, she peered over the edge of the building, wondering if anyone had simply taken cover and waited out the attack, but there was no one. That both relieved and unnerved her; she felt the need to run back and make sure they were all accounted for. But it was a fair guess to make that after this altercation none of them were safe.
She looked to Hydracat with her eyes narrowed in concern, “I don’t want them involved in this. If they’re in danger because of me I have to stop it before it’s too late.”

Kat nodded her head slightly when Ember confirmed that it was just her in her group with the powers, that made things much easier. They wouldn't have to deal with any potential problems that might arise if those children were being looked for by their families or what not. At least if they were the League could handle that out of costume better than they could if the kids were metas.
"We'll get them someplace safe." She didn't want to say that the league would take care of it..even if she knew that they would she didn't like making promises for people.
Before she could continue Kat heard a voice starting to talk in her ear and she paused her sentence and placed her finger on her communicator to hear Barbaras voice better.
"Batgirl to Hydracat. Arrangements have been made, myself and Martian Manhunter will meet you at the safehouse for debriefing. Zetatube has been modified for unauthorized persons. Coordinates have been sent.
"Acknowledged." Katt spoke, letting Barbara know that she had heard what had been said. Once the channel went quiet again Kat turned back to Ember "looks like my friends are ready for you, if you are." She wasn't going to force this girl to go anywhere she didn't want to but if she wanted to a place to hide and be safe then thats what they were offering. I figure were probably coming to a end here soon...maybe one or two more post left? What do you think?

Ember nodded to Hydracat’s response; it was the kind of arrangement she had been hoping for. Keeping the kids safe had been her top priority for a while, and it was a bit of a hard realization that she could be the cause for their danger. Maybe not the specific, single cause to blame, but if her presence around them had placed a target on their backs she wanted to stop if as soon as possible. “Looks like my friends are ready for you, if you are.”
The instinctive, protective part of her argued to run back to the runaway hideout. It was her job to make sure that everyone was safe, and she owed them an explanation and assurance that she was alright. But the logical part of her had been put in charge. Not going was perhaps the more detrimental choice of the two, and Ember already had done enough to cause problems. As crazy as it was, she already felt inclined to believe Hydracat. If the girl had saved her, she was probably doing what was in Ember’s best interests. It would be foolish not to go. She could come up with an explanation to the group later, but something told her that this was her best option. Ember looked to Hydracat and gave another, but more assertive, nod, “Let’s go.”I agree, this can be the last post or you can add an end post to wrap up if you'd like.

As soon as Ember agreed Katt stepped closer once more and wrapped her arm around her waist again as she lifted them off the roof and landed them safely back on ground on the opposite side of the building. The nearest Zeta tube was not far from here, just a couple minutes walk and once they arrived Katt briefly explained what was going to happen from here on out. She explained that once they met with Batgirl and Martian Manhunter she would have to explain to them what had happened and that Martian Manhunter would also question her telepathically to make sure she wasn't unknowingly a spy or something else and that once they were sure about everything that the other kids would be picked up and moved somewhere safe. Once everything was explained Katt asked if Ember was still sure and when she agreed a second time Katherine activated the zeta tube and stepped through.
