Kara smiled as she strolled down the street, keeping her head down as she walked. She was wearing average civilian attire, but not for the purpose of running human errands. No, she was on a mission.
The city’s eerie atmosphere lingered in the dim light of twilight as the cool air wisped through the streets. There weren’t many people around, but that was probably for the best. Supergirl’s plan wouldn’t work if anyone else got in the way.
A few cars passed, and Kara decided to stop walking, using her super hearing to determine what was happening around her. She could hear a few thugs in a nearby alley, but she paid them no attention. She was looking for someone else.
She had recently encountered a crime boss and they hadn’t gotten off to a good start. The havoc-wreaking maniac had managed to cause trouble in quite a few cities throughout the nation, and Supergirl had confronted him. She was planning to incarcerate him, but their escapade went haywire, and the villain escaped.
Kara obtained the villain’s hit list and discovered that Bludhaven was next in line for mass destruction. Knowing this particular bad guy, he preferred to look for hostages before causing trouble, and that’s where Kara comes in.
In Bludhaven, you rarely see young women outside at this time of night. The only people around are typically up to no good, and who would make a better hostage, a gangster or a young lady? Exactly.
Kara would be targeted by the villain, and once he attempted to capture her, she would tranquilize him. While he was unconscious, she would discreetly move him into a nearby alley to tie him up. After that, she would change into her SG uniform and fly him to a secret location for interrogation, and later, incarceration. Everything just had to go according to that plan.
Kara had failed to alert anyone on the team of this mission, because she felt as though she could handle it on her own. She wanted to prove herself to them, because they didn’t seem to have as much confidence in her due to her inexperience. This was her chance to show them how awesome she was.
Supergirl continued walking, acting timid and vulnerable. She was striving to be the easiest target. Her super hearing was kept sharp, and she kept her eyes trained on the sidewalk ahead of her.
A few minutes later, she finally heard the resonance of fast paced footsteps behind her. She smiled, her plan was working. Standing still, she waited until the person was close enough, before turning around quickly and injecting the tranquilizer dart into the felon’s side.
Seconds later he fell unconscious, and Supergirl carried him into the alleyway, binding his wrists and changing into her Supergirl costume. She glanced down at her captive once she was ready to leave. He was wearing his usual attire: A ski mask and a dark colored hoodie. She was proud of herself, for once in her life she had done something right.
She then took to the sky, heading to the secret location she’d planned for interrogation. This was finally her chance to prove herself, and everything was going perfectly.
