Katt made her way to the console and Kaldur provided cover as best he could with what limited water he had as he tried to keep the majority of the soliders attention on him. The downside was that more their blasts hit his shields the more they evaporated and he had to replenish. However he managed to take down a few that came too close. Luckily he didn't have to play decoy for much longer as he saw Katt smash the console and the shield that closed them shut down, as the rain came slowly pattering into the base. Kaldur locked eyes with Katt for a minute and he understoood, it was time to make the escape as he made his way toward her.
Only to fall as from the pool a large muscular hand shot out and grabbed Kaldu'rs foot. Kaldur looked back and saw the barbaric maw lookingg back at him as it seethed "Your not getting away so easily." Kaldur looked up at Kat for a minute and then made his decision. He then took one of his water bearers and formed what water he head left into a sword as he swiftly sliced clean through the Sharks limb severing the hand from the limb as the Shark fell back into the water roaring in pain as the water beneath stained red.
Kaldur got up, shaking the severed limb from his leg and made a dash for Katt. In the back of his mind Kaldur knew that Shark would regrow the hand given time, but the part that troubled him was how quickly the choice to sever his arm had come to him.
However. he pushed that out of his mind and he holstered his water bearers as his tatoos glowed as he gathered the falling rainwater around him and Katt giving them a bolster from the blaster fire as he gestured upward and said " I think we have worn out our welcome."

Katherine was ready to go, they had found out that there was definite Light activity in the city and that was good enough, it was better to get out alive and regroup than to stay and try to take on a small army. Kaldur seemed to have the same thought as the glance they shared said enough. The men they had knocked down not moments ago were starting to regain their footing and Kat started laying down cover fire, sending small blast of water at the manta soldiers as they started firing at them.
Kaldur seemed to quicken his step as he started making his way toward her but he was stopped as a large, clawed grew hand shot out from the water and grabbed around his ankle. That was no good, even if he was Atlantean the playing field would be less than equal in the water and Shark would almost surely have the advantage with his speed and brute strength. Kaldur!" Kat called out, ready to go in after them if he got pulled in and she took a few steps forward ready to do just that when she paused suddenly as the blade was formed and swung. Katherine narrowed her eyes slightly as the ruthlessness. He had shown no hesitation, no second thought at taking Sharks hand...it seemed Manta's lessons and values had stuck with him which was alarming and is something that would have to be addressed but not right now, they needed to get to safety first.
Now they had to make their escape.
The howl of pain and the red stained water had distracted the Manta goons enough to give them a break in the fire and when Kaldur'ahm reached her and said they had worn out their welcome Kat couldn't agree more. Lifting off the ground Kat began flying toward the opening, grabbing Kaldur as she did, her hand locking around his forearm as she flew them out and started making her way away from the refinery. Once they were a safe distance and out of sight Kat set them both back down on the ground, she was confidante that they didn't have to worry about Manta's men following them. They did not have the advantage on land like they did in the water and the light would not want to draw unwanted attention to their activities at the refinery.
Now that they were in the clear however.... "You want to tell me what that was about?" Kat turned toward him and crossed her arms as she waited for a answer. A lot had happened and all of it worrisome and she wanted to give him the chance to explain his actions before she brought it up with the team...if she brought it up with the team. Kat was sure her concerns would fall on deaf ears and be a waste of her time.

As Kat flew them out, Kaldur kept an eye below to make sure that they weren't being fired upon on their exit, but it seemed that once they got some altitude they were in the clear, destroying the console hd also taken down their perimeter defenses as well as the canons did not move to track them either. As they sped away from the scene Kaldur relaxed a little bit. They had made it out and it didn't look like they were being followed as far as he could tell. They landed at a safe distance and once they were on the ground Kaldur's mind drifted for a moment as he began mentally shifting the information they had gained into the rough bones of briefing he would have to give the team later before Kat interrupted his thoughts.
"You want to tell me what that was about?"
Part of him understood the question after all he had called an audible back there, but, something about her tone rankled him. However he kept his face neutral and his vice even as he said " We walked into a trap, but I've know King Shark since before I left Atlantis to join The Team, he's tough but easy to goad. I figured if I riled him up enough he'd make a mistake and give us an opening. We didn't have the benefit of a psychic link and if I'd signaled either Shark or my father's men would have noticed and it would have ruined the element of surprise. So I had to take the shot and hope you backed my play."
