Tim remained sat on his bike, removing his motorcycle helmet when he heard Barbara call out to him. A grin soon appeared across his face, as he had figured that Barbara had let him win. It’s hard not to notice, it wasn’t as close as it is normally, she was definitely putting on the brakes more. It didn’t bother Tim though, there’s always room another time for a more competitive race. Dismounting his motorcycle, Tim would then disappear himself as he headed into his own armoury of gadgets and gear after a rather eventful night - two monsters on one Halloween night; Zsasz and Count Dick. In no time did Tim reappear from his armour and was over at his motorcycle again to fetch the goodies they had attained. At the same time Tim began to think of the film choice he would have to make. It was difficult. All of the Bat Family had a great deal of resistance to anything scary, really. A horror film had to be pretty darn exceptional to spook the residents of Wayne Manor. Perhaps an action movie with a horror vibe would be for the best, something like… Alien versus Predator?

A few minutes later Barbara reemerged from her own armory in the clothes she had arrived in and she waited for Tim, taking the bags from her own bike and heading up to the stairs that would lead them back to the manor once Tim was ready. They would need to get the ice cream into the freezer quickly before it started to melt all over but, not before she got herself a bowl. Barbara liked 'ice cream soup' and she would always wait for her bowl of ice cream to melt enough to where she could stir it back to its semi liquid form. "So, given any thought on what to watch tonight?" She asked once they were back up in the main house and started their way toward the kitchen. Hopefully Alfred wasn't too sick of candy because the two of them had enough goodies to last a long time or to at least put themselves into a diabetic coma from all the sugar.

Tim gathered the bags from his motorcycle –two, one in each hand, and then proceeded to follow on behind Barbara up the stairs that led directly to Wayne Manor. Tim always wondered why Bruce had never had a Bat-life fitted in. Not for their benefit, or for Bruce’s. For Alfred, it would surely help him out a fair bit. He’s not exactly the same spring chicken as he once was after all.
”No, not really”. Tim would say initially in response. ”Winning is terribly distracting”. All Tim really cared for was winning, he wasn’t particularly fussed about what movie they watched – he’d spend most of it eating candy anyway. ”How about Alien vs. Predator? …think we have that. Or… you can pick, I don’t really have any preference”. Although going by how tonight had gone, it wouldn’t be all too surprising for Dick Grayson to be the one who picks the movie.
Before long did the FemBat and Boy Wonder reach the kitchen, and upon entering Tim would call out. ”Alfred… you around?”. Tim gave it a moment or two, but there was no response. ”Must be helping Bruce”. From there, Tim set the two bags down upon the counter and then moved towards one of the cupboards. Swinging it open, Tim pulled out a giant bowl, and then another, placing them down upon the counter. Tim walked back over to the bags and pulled out a large bag full of candy which he then pulled open, dropping all of the delicious treats into the bowl. Tomorrow was going to be a sick-day.

While Tim's choice of movie would not have been her first pick and the thought of picking for them was tempting since he had offered that really wasn't the point of all this. She wanted it to be something Tim would enjoy and she didn't let him win so she could pick for herself. Alien vs Predator it is." If they weren't having a sugar crash after then maybe she could pick the next one.
While the two of them carried all of their goodies into the kitchen Barbara went right for where she knew Alfred kept the bowls as soon as her hands were free. They were going to need to get the ice cream in the freezer quick before it melted more but she was getting some of that before they put it away. Going to the cabinet she pulled out two smaller bowls and then some spoons and carried them back to the counter. Setting one in front of Tim and the other in front of her Barbara then went and pulled out the ice cream and did the same, setting Tim's choice in front of him and taking hers and her cookies and mixing herself up a delicious treat.
Now that she had all that settled and the candy was ready and drinks were poured Barbara carried her snacks into the proper room. Time to get this 'I hate Nightwing' club started.

Perhaps Tim’s eyes were too big for his belly. As when Barbara set down the tub of chocolate ice cream, did Tim’s eyes light up. The bowl of candy became an afterthought, as Tim fetched himself a large amount of chocolate ice cream – a decision he would surely live to regret come tomorrow morning.
Maybe this ‘I Hate Nightwing’ club is something that could be expanded. Find some new members within the Team, and perhaps get some club merchandise; t-shirts, mugs, all of that stuff that you would normally regret buying after drink-shopping on Amazon.
For Tim, the task of carrying his snacks into the lounge-type room was something of a balancing act. In one hand he held a bowl full of various different sweets and candy bars, and in the other hand a bowl of chocolate ice cream. Undoubtedly, Tim was slow, super slow – Opposite of the Flash slow. But eventually he made it there, setting the two bowls down on the coffee table in front of where he would sit.
But Tim couldn’t sit down just yet - for he had the grand ol’ task of trying to find the movie. Confident that it would be among the stack of DVD’s upon one particular shelf for sure. He walked over and began flicking through them; it was quite obvious who some of these movies were for; ‘Fast & Furious 6’, ‘Die Hard’, ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’ and a fitness DVD as well, among others. “Bingo”. Tim muttered to himself as he found the DVD for ‘Alien vs. Predator’. He opened the case, removed the disc and popped it into the DVD player before picking up the remote on his journey back towards the sofa.
Tim plonked himself down as the movie started to load up.

When they were all set and ready to go Barbara took her bowls with her but not before stopping to grab two glasses and a bottle of soda and stuffing those in the crook of her arm. It was quite the feat to carry all that across the kitchen, into the hall and over to the living room but somehow she managed without dropping or breaking anything and set all of her goodies down on the table in front of the couch. While Tim was finding his choice of movie Barbara made herself comfortable after turning out the lights -you cant watch a scary movie with the lights on.
Now that they were both seated Barbara reached for her bowl of ice cream and mixed it a little to evenly distribute the cookies. They were going to regret this tomorrow; their teeth and stomachs were going to be so angry at them but it was therapeutic...and nothing a few hours in the gym couldn't fix. "Ready for a relaxing sugar high?" She asked, if they were both older it probably would have been beers instead of ice cream and chocolate but this was fine how it was.

Tomorrow was not going to be great at all, and Tim held out hope that he would not cross Bruce’s path between now and tomorrow night. Pigging out like this was of course, no good. Both in terms of fitness, as well as the likely exhausted and lousy mood that Tim would suffer from come tomorrow morning. But there was a positive that shone through this gloomy forecast, and that was that Tim had nowhere to be tomorrow, no obligations to keep. He could focus during the day on getting his head screwed on straight for the night ahead. Perfect.
”Ready for a relaxing sugar high?”
Barbara had said as soon as Tim had settled down in his spot beside her. If Barbara wasn’t there, then Tim would have most likely slammed his face into the bowl of goodies and gorged down what he could by now. Good job she was there, some manners would be needed. ”I don’t know if it’ll be relaxing, but. Sure”. Tim said as he picked up his bowl of chocolate ice cream first. On the screen in front of them, those darn adverts were on show. The ones showing future releases of films – which sucked, because this film is over a decade old. ”This film is too scary! You should be watching ‘Finding Nemo’! I've never heard of a comb! Ugh…”. Tim said, muttering to himself in what was a less than spectacular impression of Dick Grayson – it really was poor considering how good Tim did at the Batman voice. His head was lowered slightly, looking down at the bowl of chocolate ice cream that rested on his lap, stirring it ever so slightly with a spoon.

Barbara started in on her ice cream, savoring the cold sugary sweetness when she heard Tim's quiet mumbling which made Barbara smirk at her bowl. "I didn't pick this movie so I know it can't be good for the both of you" she added in her own horrible Dick impersonation. It really was amazing at how drastic of a change their once fearless leader had gone through and she knew that he was still grieving but there came a point where enough was enough. Maybe it was time for her to take this into her own hands, try to talk some sense into Richard and get him to snap out of this because it things continued this way he was going to get someone killed. "I'm honestly surprised he hasn't busted down the door yet to stop us." Barbara tacked on at the end before going back and taking another bite from her ice cream. It was still early in the movie..it had just started after all maybe Dick was waiting for the perfect 'scary' moment to make his untimely entrance.

”Not too bad, Barb’”. Tim would say jokingly, complimenting the impression that wasw perhaps just as bad as his own. ”Don’t speak too soon… there’s still time for that to happen”. Tim would say with a smirk, his eyes shooting a momentary glance towards the door of the room. Fortunately there were no signs of anyone entering. Tim would then look down towards his bowl of chocolate ice cream. With his spoon, Tim picked up a rather large spoonful and would go on to devour the chocolate goodness that was the ice cream. Soon after Tim had eaten a mouthful of ice cream, did he feel the slight tingle of what may soon turn out to be a brain freeze; uh oh.
That feeling soon passed, and Tim wasn’t fazed by it at all as he was prepared to scoop up another spoon full. ”He totally Batman’d us back there”. Oh yes, Tim liked using Batman’s name as a verb. In this case, Tim meant rolling in, and pulling rank. It wouldn’t have been bad had Bruce done it, but Dick. He used to be cool. Tim then did as he did before, and raised the spoonful of chocolate ice cream up to eat it – though this time it went down much better.

Hearing the 'not too bad' made Barbara burst out into a small giggle fit. She may have mocked Dick a bit when she was angry at him for one reason or another. He could just be so infuriating some times and instead of going to argue with him directly she did it in the safety of her own home. "I bet he's waiting for the right moment to rush in." It was amusing to think of Dick waiting outside the windows, watching and waiting for the perfect scary moment to rush in and cover the TV to protect their feeble little minds.
Barbara continued to eat her snacks when Tim said that Dick had 'Batmaned them' and she stopped a moment, fully expecting to see Bruce come out of no where. He had timing like that but, when the Dark Knight did not come from the shadows Barbara felt a little more comfortable in laughing at Tim's comment. "He did, before we know it he's going to start having 'the voice' That thought would be amusing if it wasn't a genuine concern.

Tim had to interject. ”Afraid not, Barb. Alfred’s beaten him to the punch”. A few moments later, the sound of Alfred’s voice could be heard. An exasperated voice muttering; ‘drat’, followed by footsteps leaving. ”Knew it”. Tim added with a smirk appearing on his face. He had spotted Alfred peak around the doorway when he was moving back to his seat. It’s a tough ask for a butler, or anyone, to get a jump on one of the Bat’s.
Tim wasn’t too sure about whether Dick was quite as on point with the voice as he was with the brooding attitude. Of course, Tim had nailed the voice superbly. Perhaps Dick will drop by one day, asking for a few pointers. That voice, it certainly is vintage Batman. ”What do you think came first; the suit or the voice?”. Tim would say before taking another huge bite of chocolate ice cream. Once it had gone, Tim would speak again. ”I kind of like the idea of Bruce growling into a hairbrush before he first set out as Batman”. He had to of had the voice planned, right? It’s not like the criminals would offer him much constructive criticism.

Barbara turned around and looked back to see Alfred sulking away after being seen and that caused her to laugh a little. Poor Alfred, she could only imagine how it must have been for him living in such a large home with stealth trained youth must have been hell on the old man. Even if Alfred had his own training and background nothing could really prepare you for raising and taking care of ninja children or one very big, very trained man child that was Bruce (But…don’t ever tell him she said that. ) Barbara could just picture a young Dick and Tim jumping out and scaring Alfred, practicing their sneak skills on him and what not…not that she wasn’t innocent in that department either. Barbara used to sneak up on her dad when she first started training. It was good practice, nearly gave him a heart attack or two. As Tim returned the conversation back toward Bruce Barbara threw her head back and laughed. She couldn’t help it, the image was just too funny not too. The worst part was that she could actually picture Bruce doing that. With a makeshift cape and everything. Barbara had to bring a hand to her mouth to quiet her laughs and finally she glanced back behind them to make sure Bruce wasn’t actually standing there because that would just be horrible and terrifying. ”I dunno, I think that came after he put the suit on, just felt like the right thing to do. OR…or do you think he modeled the suit around the voice?”

”Honestly, I think a bit of both”. Tim said in reply as he picked up the remote beside him to begin fast forwarding through those awful old film trailers/adverts. ”Bruce probably had most of the suit sorted out, and then one day… when practicing the ‘voice’ in the bathroom. He grabbed a towel, or the shower curtain and started posing with it as if it were a cape”. He added. It was quite the striking image that he had pieced together. Worst part is, it was entirely plausible. ”And that’s the origin story of why we all wear capes now”. Tim would say, stopping the fast forwarding and setting down the remote beside him. ”True story”.
Mere moments went by, and at last the opening scene of the film appeared on screen – darn those adverts. ”I… really wasn’t expecting the night to go like this. Thought it would be a quiet occasion, no Dick, no nothing… hoping I could just sneak off early from being on-call”. It was only a couple days ago that Tim had found himself out shopping for a Halloween costume with Cassie, M’Gann and VII. Tim was expecting to swing by the party at some point, but here he was, calming down after a spat with Dick. Nothing ever went as planned. ”Sorry about the bickering with Dick – I should of stayed quiet”. Tim said in an apologetic tone as he lifted up a spoon full of ice cream, gobbling up a huge piece. The arguing back there was unfair on Barbara, especially when they weren’t entirely sure as to Commissioner Gordon’s own status in the situation. It could have been left till later, with focus remaining on the task at hand. For that, Tim was sorry.

Barbara pursed her lips together, it wasn't Tim's fault and yet here he was apologizing for what had happened when it should be Dick that was the apologizing to both of them. "You don't need to be sorry, someone had to say something and if hadn't of been you it would have been me." She stirred her spoon around the bowl, mixing the ice cream and cookie pieces a little more till it was slightly melted "You know, if you still want to go out you can. Me and Alfred can hold down the fort here. Barbara didn't want to keep Tim from any plans if he had them already, she figured he was just staying in which was why she suggested their little movie and pig out night but she would be happy to go back home and finish this party later. It wouldn't be like she couldn't find anything else to do either, there were all kinds of parties and other things going on, or there was more patrolling to do. Always something to do if you looked hard enough.

Tim didn’t think he was being that obvious. But it seemed clear enough for Barbara that Tim’s head was partly elsewhere. Barbara seemed to have a knack for reading what Tim was thinking, as did Bruce. ”I don’t know, it’s stupid”. Tim said initially in response. He knew full well that Barbara and Alfred could handle things, but leaving seemed a bit rude. Especially after getting all the food and treats, it wouldn’t be right. ”There's a Halloween Party or something going on at the cave, but”. Tim added, a short sigh as he took a faint breath in. ”I’m not sure if I’m up to it, putting on a fake smile with what’s gone on tonight”. Dick had sucked all the enthusiasm away. ”I’m sure Cas- they won’t mind me not being there”. Tim said in hope he recovered well. He didn’t like bringing up Cass around Barbara or Dick, really. Because he knew full well either one could so easily tease him. What’s worse is, with the amount of time they seem to be around one another; you don’t want to give away free ammunition. ”Not exactly the mini-Playboy Billionaire just yet”. Tim said with a laugh before gobbling up another spoonful of ice cream.
