December 15th
Very few things in her lifetime had ever made her nervous. Her father had been one of them when she was a child until she grew to know better, her mothers sickness, her sister’s ‘death’ and then finding out that she was pregnant. All of those things had caused the jaded assassin to stop and think a little more deeply about things, made her feel emotions she was not used to feeling but none of those things compared to the feeling of nervousness she felt now as she walked through the palace that housed the League of Shadows.
Ra’s had always been a man that Jade had deeply respected and feared, he was probably the only man that she did both of those things. Ra’s al Ghul had taken her in after she had left her family home, had trained her beyond the peak of perfection, had offered him a place within his ranks and had given her purpose in her otherwise chaotic life. She owed a lot to her master as she would not be what she was today without his influence. Despite her admiration for the man Jade was aware of what he was capable of, she knew the extent of his wrath and that was what she was here to try to avoid.
Jade had come to Ra’s a few years ago asking for help, she needed a lead on Speedy and he was the only man she knew that she could get answers from. Despite the position in the League she had once held and her reputation as one of its best assassin Jade knew she had no right to ask such a favor from the Demon’s Head given the way she had left but, for Roy she would try. Jade had gone before the head and pleaded her case, offered her service to him once more should he grant her request. It was a bold move on her part and Jade had not known what to expect. It came as just as much as a surprise to her when her request was granted. Jade agreed to the terms of the arrangement, that in exchange for this information that sound a time come when her services were needed again she was to return to the League no questions asked until the debt was paid.
Given that the information provided to her had proven to be fruitful Jade had every intention to honoring her deal made with Ra’s that was and she had begun doing just that but now there was a unwanted variable to deal with.
Roy was starting to cause a real problem for her missions and standing within the League. If he had been anyone else he would have been swiftly dealt with but given that she did not want him dead Jade was forced to find creative ways to keep him alive. Things would have been different if he had just stuck with trying to sabotage her work but he had taken up interfering with the League and that was something that could not be looked past. Jade knew that his time was quickly coming to an end and she had to do something to try to buy him more.
Which is why she was here today.
Cheshire walked with a purpose through the halls until she came to the throne room and she stopped just before a set of stone steps that lead to the seat where the man that she owed most of her adult life to sat.
”Master” Jade said respectfully as she kneeled before him, not daring to move until she was spoken to.
sorry this took so long, and I really didn’t know what kind of setting to place this is so if anything needs changing let me know and I will go back and fix it. I also wasnt entirely sure about location or date so if those need to be changed too..

It was like something out of a movie. Ra’s Al Ghul’s palace on Infinity Island was quite the masterpiece, reminiscent of a fortress from medieval times. In the throne room, it was dark to a degree. No natural light from the burning sun outside, instead light came from the many torches of fire hung up on the walls. Around the stairs leading up to the throne were many members of the League of Shadows, those not tasks with a mission or in training; simply watching over their master, bowing to his every whim.
If you were to glance up the stairs towards the throne, there you would see the Demon Head. He was regally dressed as always, the center of focus in the room. In his right hand, a goblet of wine, half empty, and nearby where the Demon sat was a collection of swords. Used for when he wanted to make a demonstration in front of those that had dedicated their lives to him. Ra’s had the same expression he always had, a look that was the culmination of experience, wisdom and ruthlessness.
”Cheshire”. Ra’s Al Ghul would say as he leaned forward slightly from his thone, looking down the steps towards the knelt assassin. ”To what reason do you find yourself in our company?”. Ra’s Al Ghul added, as he then sat back in his chair, upright, moving his right hand over his beard before dropping it down nonchalantly onto his lap. He clearly wasn’t expecting the assassin, but knew full well that she wouldn’t have entered these walls if she wasn’t after something, or had something to tell. ”Have you completed your end of the deal?”. There was still some amount of time left on the task set for Cheshire, though despite difficulties, Ra’s could believe that she may have finished by now. Cheshire was a good assassins, and good assassins never disappoint.

It was almost unheard of for anyone to come to Ra's unannounced and if you did you had better come with good reason. Jade had done so twice now, before when she came to seek his help and now here she was again. "My mission is nearly complete." Things would have been done already if Roy had kept his nose out of where it didn't belong, who knows she might have even been on her way home by now if it wasn't for him. Even with all the trouble he caused in her life she was still trying to keep him alive. Jade knew she caused just as much if not more for him but he didn't understand or appreciate what she had done for him. Perhaps he never would. It was hard to see things that way when her way involved less than desireable methods.
"But I am here for another reason" Jade did not let her voice betray her feelings, while she may be calm on the outside inside she was nervous but she couldn't let that show through. Not to someone like Ra's "Red Arrow." The assassin would wait before she continued, she wanted to guage Ra's reaction first.

”Good”. Ra’s would say, speaking up, near cutting off Cheshire’s sentence before she finished. ”But if you’re here wanting more time, well, that’s just not possible”. Knowing of Cheshire’s talents, Ra’s had expected her to be finished with her task by now. No more time than what was given could be wasted on this task, it needed to be done. Once those individuals were no longer among the living, then the League could press ahead with what comes next.
Then came the mention of his name; Red Arrow. The one who was responsible for dragging this deal on far longer than it should have been. The one whose hands are riddled red with the blood of members of the Shadows. Ra’s eyes narrowed slightly at the sheer mention, a fierce grin appearing across his face. He wasn’t a fan of Red Arrow, but fortunately that pest would be gone soon. ”Go on”. Ra’s would say as he gestured for Jade to continue with what she had to say. Ra’s was playing his cards close to his chest, as always. Red Arrow was no longer a concern to him; he was being taken care of as they speak. Jade didn’t know that however, and the curious side of Ra’s Al Ghul wanted to see what she was getting at.

At his decree that more time would not be granted Jade's jaw set in a tight line. She knew that it wouldn't be, that had not been why she had come here but it did make some things more difficult for her. If Roy kept interfering with her work and forcing her to move or change her time tables then things would get complicated and messy and Jade hated messy. She was a professional, messy was not something she did well.
When Ra's made no move or change at the mention of Roy and instead told her to go on Jade could feel a knot in her stomach start to form. "As you know Red Arrow has been interfering with my work as well as with the Leagues. I am here to ask that you allow me to handle him personally, allow me to subdue him or to recruit him to our side. Jade knew that that was a long shot, a impossibly long long shot but it was the only thing she could think of that could stop all of this. She was not coming home until her work was done and if Roy kept going like he was he would not be around much longer. Jade had to try something and this was the best alternative, it allowed them to be together and it kept Roy alive. (meh)

It was certainly a tempting idea. To have one of the Justice Leagues own within the ranks of the Shadows, and the Light. There was information to gain from that, knowledge from the inner workings of the Justice League that could prove fruitful to all members of the Light. Unfortunately, for as tempting an idea as it was, it was too late. Ra’s had already played his hand, and Red Arrow’s time was running out.
”I’m afraid there’s no time for that”. Ra’s said with an exasperating sigh following after. ”I’ve been patient, Cheshire. Offered the clone plenty of opportunities to take a step back, but, he seems determined to remain in my crosshairs”. In truth, Red Arrow was lucky to have survived this long. Ordinarily a person in his position would have been dealt with by now. But he didn’t appear keen on the offer, always returning and now biting off perhaps more than he could chew.
”Red Arrow is being dealt with”. He said, as he shifted forward on his throne, peering down at Cheshire. ”As you may be able to tell, not all of us are here”. Ra’s said as he gestured his right hand towards the room. By ‘us’, he meant ‘shadows’, of which he still counted Cheshire as one. ”He won’t be getting involved in our business anymore”. Ra’s Al Ghul would say confidently. He trusted that without the element of surprise that the clone wouldn’t prove bothersome and thus be dealt with in a swift manner.

Jades mask had its many uses, built in filters allowed her to breath in toxic air, sensors that allowed her to track her targets heat signatures or scan a area, infrared and night vision made seeing in the dark easier and gave her a advantage but nothing was more useful than providing a shield from her face at this very moment. Ras words had struck a cord with Jade, so, they had sent someone to take care of Roy without her knowledge, she could guess who had been sent, there was only a handful of people that would be trusted with something like this.
I had hoped that you would have allowed me the duty of ending Red Arrow." Jade spoke as to not to seem weak in this matter 'after all, he has ruined my missions just as he has ruined those of the League. The task should have gone to me." At least that way Roy might have had a chance to survive, maybe there might still be a chance but if the person was who she thought then Roy may not be as lucky.

OOC: 1) Sorry for the ‘lateness’, kinda, sorta. And 2) This is terribad, so sorry D: It wasn’t often that someone would speak up and be so blunt with Ra’s. It was even rarer for that person to still be alive, even seconds after uttering a word. But Ra’s agreed with Cheshire. Red Arrow had been a thorn in the side of the Shadows, but a thorn in the side of Cheshire too. Blame laid solely with the crimson archer for Cheshire having not completed her task yet. In many ways, Cheshire was owed an opportunity to eliminate the arrow from proceedings.
”Perhaps it should have. But Red Arrow’s interference has disrupted your task for long enough”. In the eyes of the Demon, the task bestowed upon Cheshire was of a far more concern. Leaving her with the responsibility for dispatching the hero would only further delay things, by an unnecessary amount. ”It’s time you got to finishing it”.
”But I shan’t stop you, should you feel the need to take on Red Arrow’s elimination yourself”. Not that he could, anyway. Cheshire was no longer an active member of the Shadows, she could do as she pleased, within reason. ”I would simply advise that you leave now, so there may still be a Red Arrow for you to deal with”. Ra’s would say with something of a sly look about him, producing a faint smile. It was reasonable to assume that already as they speak, that the crimson archer had been disposed of.

The invitation was there, Ras was giving her the go ahead to try to stop his assassin from carrying out their task so she could do it. Part of her wondered if this was a test..did he know? Was he testing her loyalty to him by offering her this? It was possible but she was not about to let Roy die like that and if it did have to come down to it she wanted to be the one to do it at least then it would be quick and painless.
There was still the matter of her own mission that she had to complete as Ras had so reminded her. It would be done and then er debt would be wiped clean but first she had to do this.
With a simple bow of her head Jade rose from her kneeling position and backed up a few steps with her head still lowered. Once she had reached a comfortable distance the woman turned around and left the hall and began making her way back toward the airstrip on how she came. The clock was ticking and now she had to find her husband before it was too late.
