December 20th, 22:30
Oliver's night had been somewhat busy so far. He had dropped in on an armored car robbery and had to actually knock some people off the top of the moving vehicle. Never fun, they might end up dying if the car was fast enough. Fortunately it wasn't. And then after dealing with them, he immediately had to respond to an armed robbery at a pharmacy. Fun.
As soon as he arrived there, he was taking fire. Sure, his gauntlets were bulletproof and well armored, but the rest of his body wasn't. He settled for now by ducking behind some protection and knocking an arrow. He popped up and put an arrow into a man's shoulder. He rushed inside, backhanding a man who came at him with his gauntlet, taking him down. He then rammed his other gauntlet at the muzzle of another man's weapon.
"Go on. See what happens," Oliver said. The man fired and was blown back from the backup. Oliver nodded and picked him up by the shirt, "Yeah, you're down," he said, letting him drop. He looked around, and then saw that one was still there, holding the pharmacist hostage, gun to his head. "We can work this out," Oliver said.
"Don't come closer!" the man shouted, holding the gun up. He directed it at Oliver briefly, "You come closer, he dies!"
Oliver nodded, "I don't want that." Oliver lowered his bow onto the counter and lifted his hands up in surrender, "Take me instead."
The man seemed to contemplate it, "Drop the quiver!"
"You got it," Oliver said, reaching back to unclasp it from his suit. As it fell behind him, he put one hand back there to catch it. He set it down next to his bow on the counter, "There. Satisfied?"
The man nodded and moved forward with his hostage. As soon as he was close, Oliver snatched an arrow and threw it into the man's gun, knocking it back. The hostage moved away as Oliver closed in and punched him in the face to take him down. "Any more?" he asked the former hostage, who shook his head.

Jade tried to avoid Star City as much as she could these days, with her…disagreements with the Arrow family it was best to until all of this mess with the League of Shadows blew over and it would blow over, or, at least it would have just fine if someone would have kept his pretty thick head out of things. Roy was becoming a problem and one that Jade was going to have to deal with one way or another if he didn’t stop but Roy wouldn’t listen to her. He refused to listen to reason and kept getting in the way and putting him on the war path with Ras al Ghul. It had to stop and if he wouldn’t listen to her then she knew someone he would.
Cheshire and Green Arrows relationship was…well, it wasn’t. Even as Jade and Oliver the two never really got along. Sure, they played nice..ish when they had to back when she and Roy were together but that was as far as it went. She used to enjoy pushing his buttons; the good guys were always so fun like that all of them had that one thing that hit too close to home and would set them off but tonight she would have to play nice if she wanted his help.
Slipping into the city was easy enough, after all Jade was a expert as coming and going under the radar and it didn’t take long to find where Green Arrow was that night, all she had to do was follow the trail of wayward arrows…and hack into his frequency on his com.
When the call about the Pharmacy came in Cheshire thought it best to catch him there and she made her way to that side of the city and snuck her way into the building while Green Arrow was busy negoating with the robber. He made quick work of it and once the hostage was freed and he asked if there was anymore Cheshire decided that she needed to make her presence known. Stepping out from her hiding place she clapped slowly and leaned her shoulder against the nearest wall. ”Always did love coming to this city and catching a show.” Jade was sure her presence here would stir more than its fair share of questions, she was sure Roy had filled Oliver and Dinah in on what had been going on. Or, maybe he didn’t if he was so gung ho about his suicide mission he might have left that all to himself. Well, she would figure that out later, first came these silly formalities.

As Oliver dealt with the last of the criminals, he heard someone speak. He span around, raising his bow and notching an arrow in one swift move. He knew the voice though, but he still needed to have an arrow pointed at the woman speaking. He knew she'd block it, or catch it, and that unless this was a trick arrow, his attack was worthless. Cheshire was too skilled to be taken down with a single arrow in a head on battle like this.
But he didn't want a battle. No. He lowered his bow slightly, but still kept an arrow notched. "What exactly are you doing here, Cheshire?" Oliver questioned. He kept his eyes trained on her instead of focusing on anything else, like a police response. "My...partner isn't here, if you're looking for him." He knew of her relationship with Roy, and had no idea what else to refer to the former sidekick as other than 'partner'. What was Roy if not a partner? He had grown a lot, and Oliver respected him. He was a sidekick no longer.
Finally Oliver took his eyes off of Cheshire and looked around. They were alone at least, but he wasn't sure for how long until the police came. And by alone, he counted the unconscious criminals, because hell, they were unconscious, it was fine.

As the bow was turned on her Jade stood up right again and stepped away from the wall slightly and brought her arms up in a 'dont shoot' manner to show him that she was not presently armed. Archers were all the same, they all thought they could get the drop of her with their arrows...as if she hadn't trained with her sister and father all through her childhood to deflect those things but...she was getting off track here.
"What exactly are you doing here, Cheshire?"
"What? I can't drop by to see my...'in laws?' There was a slight teasing behind those last two words as she couldn't resist taking a jab at Oliver since he had never approved of her. When the mention of Roy came up Jade knew her little fun was over and that it was down to business "He's the reason that I'm here. I came to talk." Cheshire looked around the building, the cops were sure to be here any second, not the best place to hold a conversation when your a wanted criminal "If your done here, I know a place..neutral ground" As long as he didn't try to attack her or get any of his friends to then Jade had no intention of fighting the Emerald Archer.

"What? I can't drop by to see my...'in laws?' Oliver had to admit, that brought a slight smile to his face. He was happy for Roy to have found love (was it love? He had to assume so) and to have moved on. At the same time, why did it have to be with a League of Assassins member? Regardless, love was often blind. Roy was happy, that's what mattered, and Cheshire wasn't a straight up enemy for the most part. "I'm not technically his father," Oliver told her, but she knew that, he was sure.
"If your done here, I know a place..neutral ground" He nodded and hooked his bow over his shoulder. "Neutral ground it is." He gestured out, "Lead on and I'll follow you." He wasn't concerned about walking into a trap or anything. What possible reason could Cheshire have for trying something like this? Or the League in general?

” Nuances” Jade replied with a roll of her eyes, Oliver may not be Roy’s father but he was his mentor and that was close enough, besides, her Roy didn’t exactly have the luxury of a father unless you wanted to count Lex Luthor and Jade knew better than that.
At his agreement to follow her Jade lowered her arms and stuck her hand into one of the pouches on her belt and removed a piece of paper before throwing it to Oliver. ”Met me there in a hour, no costumes. Come alone, this invitation only extends to you.” The address on the paper belonged to a old cemetery that had been forgotten and grown over with weeds. It was off the beaten path and not a place with a lot of..if any foot traffic and would be the perfect place for them to met unnoticed. Once her message had been delivered Jade took Olivers distraction as her chance to leave and she disappeared as quickly as she arrived.
*~*~*~*
Jade had arrived at their designated meeting location early and made sure to secure the area. She had forgone her Cheshire attire for her usual civilian attire of jeans, jacket and ball cap and stuffed her work clothes into a gym bag that she placed behind a tombstone…just in case. After doing one last sweep of the area Jade leaned against a large tombstone and waited.

”Meet me there in a hour, no costumes. Come alone, this invitation only extends to you.”
Well, Oliver didn't have much choice. He could have probably brought Dinah rather easily, but he didn't want to do that. He didn't want to involve anyone else, especially if this might involve Roy. Roy was his responsibility, after all, and basically a son to him. Oliver took anything involving Roy or Artemis rather seriously, since they were his sidekicks, they were his partners. They were basically his children, especially with Dinah being...well, he wasn't going there.
He didn't mind her disappearing like that. He just took his chance to stuff the paper into his belt and hurried out the door (no need to make an escape through the window when the door was perfectly usable). He saw the lights of the police cars and hurried the other way. They wouldn't bother him, but he didn't like interacting with police; always at least one fanboy.
---
Oliver hadn't brought his bow, but he had brought a few flechettes just in case, tucked into the lining of his leather jacket. He was dressed casually, his eyes scanning the darkness to try to see if there were any hidden threats. He knew he'd be outmatched and outnumbered if the League wanted it, but he could hopefully fight long enough to get backup.
He came to a stop when he saw Jade. "I'm here. What do we need to discuss?"

Jade heard someone approaching and she looked over to the source of the noise to see Oliver coming her way. Well, he made it and by the looks of it had come alone. At least he could follow directions well.
"I'm here. What do we need to discuss?"
Right to business. That was fine with her as the longer she spent here the more she risked exposure, she was sure Ras had some kind of trail on her so it was best not to prolong this longer than necessary. "Roy" Jade said simply, pushing herself away from the tombstone and sticking her hands into the pockets of her jacket "He keeps interfering with my work and I need him to stop." Jade wasn't aware if Roy had told Oliver about her arrangements with Ras or not and she decided to see what he knew first before she spilled everything to him. Why waste the breath if she didn't have to?

He had figured it would be about Roy, but the rest of what she said had him thinking. What exactly was she doing for 'work'? Killing? Was Roy trying to set her on a better path or something? He looked at her hands in her pockets, a little worried about that. He drew his eyes back up to her face.
"Can you elaborate?" he questioned. "How is he interfering?" And more importantly, why would Oliver decide to stop Roy from stopping Jade's killing, if that was what he was doing? He may not be Jade's enemy, but he didn't want her going out there and just assassinating people on the orders of an immortal madman.

So Roy hadn't told Oliver anything? Typical. Thou, Jade couldn't say she was surprised, Roy liked to work on his own, he had his own way of doing things a more..direct way. It was part of the reason that had drawn her to him at first but now it was just a nuisance. I called in a favor for Roy, about speedy." Jade filled Oliver in just enough to fill in the gaps and give him an idea of what Roy was getting himself into "if he keeps getting in my way then I will have to act, there will be no way around it."
Jade hated that this is what it had to come to, that Roy could not stay away for the good of their family and that he was forcing her hand in involving others and putting them in the direct path of the League of Shadows. "You need to keep him in line. He refuses to listen to me" If he wouldn't listen to her then maybe he would listen to his mentor. At least, she hoped.

That sounded like Roy. No matter what he felt for Jade, he was a hero, and he couldn't let the League just operate like they had been. Oliver knew that Jade wasn't really that bad, but still, he couldn't sit back and let her or any other League member just do as they pleased either. He had to find something to do, and he knew Roy was the same. "I can try to talk to him, but you know just as well as I do that his sense of justice is going to outweigh anything else." And for him, justice was stopping these missions.
"Look, I don't know if I can do anything for Roy, to make him stop, because we both know that from a pure moral standpoint, what you're doing is wrong, and what he's doing is right. Even if you're targeting terrible people, in the eyes of the law, which Roy cares about from a moral standpoint," as far as Oliver still knew "he's going to stand in your way. I can only do so much."

Jade scoffed. Sense of Justice? Were they talking about the same Roy here? Sure, he was still a hero and he still did the ‘good guy thing’ but Roy’s sense of Justice was more twisted than Oliver realized…but, maybe Oliver did not know that.
"Look, I don't know if I can do anything for Roy, to make him stop, because we both know that from a pure moral standpoint, what you're doing is wrong, and what he's doing is right. Even if you're targeting terrible people, in the eyes of the law, which Roy cares about from a moral standpoint, he's going to stand in your way. I can only do so much."
”You don’t seem to understand what I’m saying” Jade said, her voice low and her words harsh ”The longer this goes on the more my debt to Ras will become and then it will be too much that I’ll never get out. If Roy does not stop this I will have to kill him and if I don’t then they will find someone else to and then they will kill Lian and anyone else to send a message. Your ridiculous notions of Justice aside if Roy does not stop this, if he keeps thinking that him interfering with my work will get me to come home quicker then we will all pay.” Jade removed her hands from her pockets and crossed her arms ”and if you sit back and do nothing then that blood will be on your hands too. “

Ok, this was making sense. He didn't know enough of Roy's personal life, or anything really that was going on with his relationship with Jade, but he got enough out of this. If she continued to do this work, as much as Roy would want to intervene, then she'd be free and could be with Roy, or do whatever she wanted. For Oliver, Roy's happiness was one of the most important things.
"I'll speak with Roy," Oliver told her. And he would, but he wasn't done yet, "First, tell me something. What sort of kills are you making?" Were they innocent people, or people who did deserve to be brought to some sort of justice? That was going to make or break this.

At Olivers 'request' for her to tell him who her targets were Jade almost laughed. She wanted to, she really did but she was just so done with anyone involved in the Arrow family that laughter at their patheticness lost its appeal. "That's between me and Ras al Ghul." Her and Ra's business was just that, business and while Jade may be many things she was still honorable when it came to business. Jade was also smart enough to know that if she made any attempt to double cross Ras and the Shadows that it would end badly for her, she had been one of them she knows how they operate and what they do to traitors. No, it was best to do as the Demon said until if and when he decided that you had done enough.

Oliver could have guessed, and maybe he should have started with a different question first, but he had to at least try. He was optimistic. "I thought you might say something like that," he told her and sighed. He looked around the cemetery a little, then his eyes refocused on Jade, "Can you at least tell me this? Would Roy object if these people were, say, on death row? Do they deserve it?" It wasn't a way that Oliver liked to phrase it, but he had to give Roy something, and this seemed like the best way to do it.
