ALIAS(ES): Kom, Blackfire, Princess Komand’r of Tamaran
BIRTHDAY: September 15, 1992
CURRENT: Las Vegas, Nevada
• Mother: Queen Luand’r (Deceased)
• Father: King Myand’r (Deceased)
•Younger Sister: Koriand’r (Starfire)
•Younger Brother: Ryand’r (Darkfire)
ALLIANCE: The Light; Shadow Squad
RANK: Dark Side Club Champion
• Physiology: Blackfire’s alien heritage grants her abilities that greatly separate her from humans. She is far stronger than humanly possible, and able to withstand the temperament of other worlds and the harsh conditions of space. While not bullet proof, Blackfire has a great amount of durability, allowing her to handle attacks better than humans.
• Starbolts: Due to Blackfire being able to absorb ultraviolent energy, she is capable of shooting bolts of energy from her hands, and blasts from her eyes. This energy is light purple in color.
• Flight: Another effect of the ultraviolent energy, absorbing the rays gives Blackfire the ability to fly.
• Emotional Strength: Tamaranean’s emotions are connected with their abilities, and enhance them as well. Rage makes for more powerful starbolts, confidence increases her physical strength, and joy will bring about greater flight.
• Linguistic Assimilation: By making lip contact with any individual, Blackfire is able to learn their language instantly.
BLOOD TYPE: Unknown
ORIENTATION: Whatever she feels like
COLOR(S): Black, silver, and purple
Blackfire’s uniform is rather simple. The main part of her costume is a black body suit, the top is long sleeved and has a collar around her neck. Around her chest is silver plated armor, covering only her upper torso. Her upper arms are also covered is the silver armor, minus her shoulders. On her forearms are ornately designed metal cuffs, leaving her hands uncovered. She wears a pair of thigh high silver boots as well. Over her shoulders is draped a purple cape, held in place by a red gem in the center of her chest.
DESCRIPTION: It is easy for Blackfire to attract attention, for more reasons than one. Her physique is unique and unusual to humans; with her height of 6’2 and purple colored eyes. When using her powers, her eyes glow entirely purple. Even her hair is different, long and black at first, but in the sun it holds a dark purple shine to it that comes naturally. Usually she wears it down, letting it fall over her shoulders and down her back. Her skin is more orange than human tones as well. The exotic features heighten her beauty, to aliens and humans alike.
Blackfire is intrigued by human’s clothing, to say the least. She prefers tightly fitted clothing, but branches out into more flowing wear depending on her mood. She is always ready to wear something more elegant for certain occasions, and is fond of getting dressed up when she must.
Combined with her style and natural beauty, Blackfire’s attitude is also affecting to others. She has a smooth gait that looks as if she is gliding while she walks, and holds her head high. Being the descendent of royal blood, Blackfire emits a powerful impression when she enters a room, and has an energy that projects her nobility subconsciously.
PLAY-BY: Louise Cliffe
Fear: Her greatest fear is that she will never reclaim her birthright, and if she ever does become Queen that the power will not satisfy her and make her happy.
Desire: All Blackfire wants is to become Queen of Tamaran, and rule over her homeland. Though she will never admit it, she wants to have the love and adoration of her people or someone else.
HABITS: Surprisingly, Blackfire does not mind listening to others, and tends to eavesdrop on conversations. She will listen before speaking when engaging in conversation—though she may be silently plotting based on what the opposite person is saying. When thinking she often clenches her hands or grips her arms. If she’s bored she flicks her nails, despite how unappealing to the ears it may be. Blackfire is a curious person, and is always ready to explore her surroundings to try and entertain herself.
PET PEEVE: People that think they are the perfect example of good annoy Blackfire to no end. She can’t stand those who think they can do no wrong, especially heroes who proclaim similar ideas of this with their actions.
• Deceptive: Blackfire is very talented at manipulation, and uses it whenever she needs to get her way.
•Tactical Analysis: She has a bright and strategic mind that compliments her physical capabilities.
• Lack of sun: Less sun means less ultraviolet rays, which are what Blackfire relies on.
•Pride: Blackfire hates to admit when she is wrong, and rarely accepts defeat with ease. She struggles with reigning in her defiance to those with higher power over her.
TRAITS: Playful and flirtatious, Komand’r has a personality as sharp as a blade. She uses deception to get what she needs or wants, and is an expert in manipulation of people, situations, and words. Causing little amounts of chaos is one of her favorite past times, though she knows better than to create a problem that will become far out of hand. She is a good listener and enjoys conversation and interaction with others, though she rarely holds her tongue. Still, she welcomes fun company and those who entertain her.
Blackfire is ruthless in her means to reach her goals, no matter what they are. It’s true that she is self centered, joining the Light simply so that she can one day reclaim Tamaran as her own. Despite this, Komand’r has a twisted sense of loyalty; she expects that as long as she holds up her end of any bargain, others will do the same for her.
Since she was never shown any amount of kindness or affection, Blackfire not only doesn’t grasp the concept but is reluctant to share it with anyone else. She regards her fellow Shadow Squad members as necessary allies, and those she needs to work with in order to get the assistance to take back her home and her throne. It has yet to be seen if Blackfire is capable of true feelings other than anger towards anyone.
HISTORY: Komand’r was the first born daughter to the king and queen of Tamaran; the first princess born in over 100 years. Any other time, this would have been a greatly celebrated affair. However on the same day Komand’r was born, the Citadel Empire attacked Tamaran and destroyed one of its western cities. To make matters worse, their enemies proclaimed that the death and destruction was in the name of the newborn princess. The result of this was out of Kom’s hands, and the day was marked with tragedy instead of happiness.
Forever marked with death, Komand’r fell further out of favor with her people as she grew older. Komand’r did not hold the same disposition as the rest of the family—possibly influenced by society’s unpleasant view of her. The dark attitude she carried was at odds with the royal family’s positive outlook, something that she could not change about herself, no matter how hard she tried. Komand’r was made even more of an outcast. Tamaraneans hated the princess, and Kom felt the weight of their disapproval as she grew, understanding more and more that she was not welcomed, but simply tolerated as a necessity.
The person who received the love and adoration was Koriand’r, Kom’s younger sister. Komand’r could see the love that she could have had by her people, if not for the curse that marked her birth, and became more jealous of her sister as the years went on. Komand’r allowed her jealousy to turn to rage at Kori, instead of at her home planet. The two sisters never got along, and Kom could not bring herself to feel anything but hatred towards her sibling.
Eventually the hatred that Kom had harvested for her sister turned into fear as she realized how much the Tamaraneans approved of the younger princess. Komand’r still had her throne, and was desperate not to lose it. This fear, along with her pent up anger, made its way into action during a training exercise, where Kom tried to kill her sister. At this she failed, and fearing the retaliation of society and the repercussions of her actions, Komand’r did what she felt needed to be done; she approached her planet’s enemies with crucial information and staged an attack on Tamaran.
The attack went through, and in the process both the king and queen were killed. Komand’r used their deaths and appealed to Kori, convincing her sister to give herself up to their enemies in order to save their planet. The plan succeeded, but success was shortly lived as Komand’r’s involvement in the attack was discovered. Kom was condemned to exile and sent to prison, an entire galaxy away from her home planet. Here is where Kom’s hateful emotions continued to flourish as she contemplated what had gone wrong. She wished for another chance for vengeance that, she believed, she rightfully deserved.
Komand’r’s wish was granted, suddenly. Before Darkseid’s invasion, The Light assisted in breaking out prisoners from the galactic prison, though their involvement was unknown to her. Komand’r took no haste in escaping, but soon realized she had nowhere to go. Exiled from Tamaran, the only place she’d ever been, left Komand’r unsure of where to go with her newfound freedom. The destructive nature of the War World and the power it carried was attractive to her, and Kom took it upon herself to follow the trail, which led to Earth.
On the new planet Komand’r discovered the Light, who were intrigued by her abilities. They saw potential in the alien, and offered her a place among them, promising to give her assistance in taking back Tamaran—if she proved herself to them first.
With nothing else to lose, Komand’r accepted the offer and found the Dark Side Club. She entered the competition and gave it her all, showing no mercy while she fought. The outcome was in her favor, and Kom became the Champion, earning herself a place in the Shadow Squad.
