It was more or less a nice quiet night and for once Zatanna remembered to bring a book on watch duty. The trashy little novel was the most popular on shelves and all the girls in her class were talking about it. The book was a bit boring in her option since nobody really talked so flowery and the words to describe the characters were so unrealistic. She liked the phase a few years ago the world seemed to go through with its love for magic. Those books were fairly entertaining since they had action with sprinkles of romance.
Or maybe it was the lack of romance that made her think the book was boring.
As she turned another page, the monitor she was watching turned red causing her to put the book down and turn her full attentions to the screen. "Thank goodness, I was starting to fall asleep," she complained to herself as she checked the screen. There had been an alarmed tripped at the weirdest location in the world for there to be a distress call: Lex Corp.
The only cameras in the area that the Watchtower could hack were a bank camera across the street showing people walking though a broken window a few floors above. Lex Corp was up to some dastardly plan with their Metahuman Research facility and yet here she was about to go save that company from thieves. Fate was such a jerk, still.
Without any more time wasted, the girl zeta to the city of tomorrow.
It took no time to get to Lex Corp and it took even less time to follow the trail of destruction the thieves had left as they seemed to be smashing their way through the building. By the time she caught up with them, the group was in one of those clean room things though nobody in the group seemed to be wearing protective gear. "Hey! Pretty sure none of you guys have authorization to be here, which is pretty ballsy considering who owns this place. Doesn't matter though because you guys are leaving," Zatanna declared as she caught the group's attention instantly.
They were all dressed in black suits and she couldn't really make out any facial features. The most she could tell was who was a man and who was a woman. The man who had took the lead seemed to tell the two stragglers to deal with the magician. The large man seemed to pull out an electric mallet while the woman whispered something under her breath to make the sprinkler system go off. "[Etativel]," the woman shouted backwards before the man could slam his mallet against the ground and electrocute her. The witch went flying forward as she punched the woman then dodged the man with the mallet's second attack.
The childish woman stuck out her tongue at him. She really didn't have time to be playing with them, then again, she wasn't in a rush to get back to that boring book of hers.

" Really Zed?" Constantine muttered under his breath " A robbery at LexCorp?" To the normal person, having the ability to be in the right place at the right time would seem like a blessing. The official term that had been coined by Kent Nelson himself was "Synchronicity Wave Traveling". Kent described the term as the ability to be in the right place at exactly the right time. More times than not, this particular ability lead to uncanny luck, like winning incredible amounts of money from arcade machines and casinos. It allowed him to avoid serious amounts of harm. And more times than not - to meet the right kind of ally to help prevent or stop an apocalyptic event from happening. However, not every situation cared to benefit from this abilities. As of late, it seemed that every situation that he got himself into was the exact opposite. It seemed like he was getting into the wrong place at the wrong time so it was no surprise that when Zed told him of one of her psychic visions, that he'd encounter trouble " Looks like i'm not the only one here" Constantine whispered to no one as a secondary figure entered the building " LexCorp security or a third party?" With a shrug, the occult detective dropped into a low crouch and withdrew the stun gun he managed to purchase earlier in the day. Making his way forward, he cleared the distance from the street to the front face of the building in a matter of seconds. Huffing slightly, Constantine gently tip toed over the broken glass and began to follow the sounds of commotion coming from down the hallway. It wasn't until he felt a rush of magical energy that he stopped in his tracks. Pressing his back against a wall, Constantine brought the stun gun forward and aimed it down the hallway in case any should round the corner. Magic was one of those things that never ended well. It always had its price and more times than not, the price wasn't worth it. Sighing softly, the occult detective kept his back flush against the wall and made his way towards the corner. Peering out ever so slightly, he couldn't help but be surprised at what he saw Zatanna? Constantine thought to himself The woman went flying forward as she punched a woman then dodged a man wielding a mallet attack. Zatanna then followed her move by sticking her tongue out at the man which elicited what ended up being a loud chuckle from the occult detective " Bugger me" Constantine muttered as the man turned his attention towards the corner he was taking cover by

She was doing a fairly good job of dodging both their attacks. Training with Black Canary did wonders for her reflex but she supposed she should speed things up. The girl flipped in front of the other girl, expecting the man with the mallet to miss and hit his friend but it seemed the man had noticed someone else was watching their little scuffle. Zatanna raised a brow as she saw Constantine lurking in the shadows rather than coming to her aid. He was a member of the Justice League and apparently liked to watch her work rather than work with her.
The woman groaned to herself for a moment before she allowed him to deal with the man with the giant mallet. For now, she could just concentrate on the woman.
Without help, the woman didn’t look too confident. Her legs shook a bit as Zatanna stared at her for a moment. Her fingers twitched as her mind raced for the right spell to bring this to an end so she could stop being wet and chase after the others. Actually, turning off the sprinklers seemed like a good idea since there was electricity about. ”[Skrowretaw off]” she started just for the sprinklers to stop but two water balls rose up for the wet ground and started to spin around the woman. Zatanna blinked for a moment in disbelief.
Was that magic or hydro-kinesis?
Whatever it was, it wasn’t Zatanna’s doing. The young magician took a step back before the water balls came hurling towards her. While she dodged one, the second one managed to hit her in the stomach. It felt like someone like Superboy had tossed a lead ball at her instead of water. The impact definitely left a mark underneath her corset, and the hit sent her skidding back across the floor. Zatanna collapsed to her knees in pain for a second as the two water balls went back to the woman and started to spin around her before she came running towards Zee.
”Crap,” she groaned under her breath. When the woman closed half the distance between them, the balls came to attack her again. ”[Dloc sdniw wolb]” she shouted from instinct as icy winds froze the balls before they could punish her again. Quickly, she got off her feet and rushed the running woman, elbowing her in the stomach before gripping her arm and flipping her over Zatanna’s shoulder onto the ground hard. Her opponent let out a yelp and it looked like she was unconscious or at least playing so. Her blue eyes went from the woman to the other side of the room where Constantine was tangoing with the man with the electric mallet.
”Need help?”
