Her words revealed so much to him that Roy was beginning to wonder just who was pulling her strings, but he wasn’t going to find out that much while there were eyes on them. What he needed to do was figure out a way to get them in a secluded spot where Jade could let him get the full story of what was going on, but exactly how he was going to do that was still an unknown to him. There was always the blow the roof apart trick, but at this close of combat it would be extremely difficult to rig it to make it look intentional without one of them becoming seriously injured.
Alas, his thinking was cut off when Jade swept his legs out from under him, and then they landed in a familiar position. Of course, there hadn’t been a weapon the last time, but there were other things present that hadn’t been around then either. Guess she was playing for keeps, but Roy wasn’t looking to get stabbed as of yet. Glancing around, he saw the arrow that he had dropped earlier was a little ways from where they rested, and the tip of it would make a very nice boom if he could set it off somehow. If only he could fling his bow at it, that would have been enough, but that was too risky at this point to attempt.
Returning his eyes to Jade, Roy wished that he had Superman’s X-Ray vision so he could figure out what she was thinking, but wishing for things was not going to help him now. What would hopefully help him is if he could let Jade know what needed to be done, so he did the one thing that he could do which was to try and signal her to detonate his arrow by arching the appropriate eyebrow for her.

Had this been anyone else she would have stuck him through with one of her blades and been done with it by now. That was what was expected of her, it was what the shadows had trained her for and would have wanted but Jade couldn't. If push truly came to shove she didn't know if she ever could, part of her said yes because all that really mattered in this was Lian but there was a part of her that knew she couldn't. Deep down Jade knew she would fight to keep Roy alive and by the looks of things it seemed she was going to get that wish.
They couldn't stay here forever thou, the police were on their way if they weren't already down below and soon helicopters wouldn't be far behind. Her window of escape was closing and all she had to do was just scrape Roy with the poison in the blade. Simple, clean, he would feel horrible in the morning but at least he would be alive. Jade was about to do just that when she saw him gesture with his brow and she side glanced to where he was pointing too. A quick glance told her it was one of his trick arrows and one of the dangerous go boom ones. She understood what he was trying to get at but it wouldn't just be as easy as her reaching over and tapping it.
But..if he deflected her attack Jade knew she could aim the shuriken at the arrow and make it look like a accident. "Better make this look convincing" she told him quietly while raising the hand with the shuriken up and moving to strike down.

It was a good thing that they weren’t some place that was very cold because he felt like he was sweating a gallon of water, but it wasn’t out of fear of death. He was just racked with anxiety as he wondered if she was going to get his message, but he had to remain still. One prick of the star in her hand would put him out as quickly as getting bonked on the head by Superman’s pinky, and he wasn’t in the mood to sleep with the fishes. Come on, Jade. Get the message already so we can sort this out, he thought as he stared up at her.
It was at that moment that she told him to make this look convincing, and then she brought her hand up. ”Right. Convincing,” he whispered. He wasn’t exactly sure on how to do that at this point, but it would have to involve him shifting her in some way that it would make sense that the star flew in the direction of the arrow. Needless to say, that wasn’t the easiest task in the world to manage as she pretty much had him at her mercy, so he was going to have to do his best and hope for the best. Hopefully, whoever was watching would be convinced by their little act.
As she brought her hand down, Roy began to struggle against her and freed one of his arms, which allowed him to ‘smack’ the hand with the shuriken in it. The only question left was whether or not she could hit the arrow without being too obvious about what was actually going on in this particular moment.

Oh he of little faith. Jade could hear it in Roy’s words but they had no other option that wouldn’t look forced or set up. Again, she was standing by the thought that if he had just stayed out of this like he was supposed to that none of this would have happened. But here he was and here they were. Jade let up on her hold of him a little so he could move quickly enough and as Roy deflected her hand back Jade released the shruiken. The star flew with precision at the arrow and one of the points collided with the tip of the explosive arrow. The sound was deafening and the vibration from the blast was enough to cause the sensors in Jade’s mask to go offline for a moment, leaving her essentially blind. While that was bad the frail and decrepit roof they were on was no match for the small explosion and a part of the roof began to cave in, taking Roy and Jade with it.

When the star collided with the arrow, there was a moment of worry in his mind that the explosion might injure one or both of them to the point that they would be easy targets for whoever was watching, but it was a little late to think of that now. It didn’t help that it was their only option at this point to get a few moments to discuss what was going on, and Jade had better talk quickly if she was going to keep him from trying to knock her out anyway.
”I’d say that bought us a minute or two before they come to investigate,” he stated while stifling back a cough. Rolling onto his stomach, he looked over at his estranged wife and wondered what was running through her head at that moment, and an image of here pulling another star out popped into his head. It would be best to keep her mind racing just in case taking him out was still on the menu. ”Spill it, Jade. What is play in all of this?”

When they went down Jade would be lying if she said it didn't hurt. Falling through a building like that was never fun and she would be feeling that tomorrow but she had more important and more pressing matters to deal with right now than worry about how much her side hurt. Pushing herself up and onto a knee Jade pulled her mask up and rested it on the top of her head while she coughed a little to get rid of the dust that had filled her lungs from the small explosion.
Once she was ok and Roy had asked the question that she knew had to be weighing on his mind Jade waited, just enough for him to push himself up before she reached out and punched him. "I told you to stay away!" she said, feeling that that punch was well deserved. If he had just listened then none of this would be happening right now. Now that she got that out of the way though she knew she was wasiting time and if Roy wanted his answers then he would be best to shut up and listen. "You're messing with the League Roy, if you don't stop this they are going to kill you..or they will make me kill you. You have to stop and go back home."
There was no question in her voice, she was not asking him to stop she was telling him. What he had done was damaging enough and she didn't know how she would be able to fix it but she would find a way..but, if he kept on like he was then there would be nothing she could do to save him and despite their problems right now Jade did not want him dead. She loved him too much for that.

Sometimes, he wondered if she realized that some things that she told him to do since they met sounded more like challenges of sorts that he had to overcome, but Roy figured that pointing that out at the current moment might not be the best thing for either of them. For one, they were still being monitored and for another she still seemed pissed at his sweet gesture of taking on a deadly criminal organization. In fact, his mind was going back to the ninja star to the face image that he had started off with, and he wondered which of his arrows would have been the best one to use to stop it.
Then her next order to him made the crimson archer laugh at her as he found what she said to be really funny, and it only seemed to make sense to him. ”Go home? That’s a good one, Jade.” He paused a moment as he ran his hand through his hair before putting a serious expression on his face, and then his eyes focused in on her. ”My ‘home’ left the day you chose the Shadows over me and took our daughter with you, and everything that I have been doing is to get the two of you back.”
If it weren’t for his mask, then it would have been clear that his eyes were starting to water at the amount of emotion that he was displaying, but Roy didn’t care at this point. ”I am waging a war to save you because the two of us know that this path that you are on doesn’t stop with just you in the League of Shadow. They are going to want to take Lian and make her into another you, so you see, I can’t stop this. Not until the both of you are safe.”

"If you would have thought this through for one second then you would know that we aren't going to be safe if you keep messing with the Shadows. Jades voice was sharp and to the point, she didn't have time to argue this with him as what little time they had right now was precious and she needed to get her point across to him as quick and as heavy as possible. There was really only one way to do that, it was something that she had hoped to avoid but Roy really wasn't leaving her any other choice was he? It's like he thrived on her being cruel to him, she was doing this so she wouldn't have to be, not really but he had to ruin that.
All he had to do was stay away and then this could have been over. Didn't seem that was going to happen anymore.
"Why do you think I'm doing this Roy, hmm? Do you really think I would go back to the Shadows just for the hell of it? Jade had been freelance, she didnt need the League of Shadows for that, she had done well on her own. He knew that. Think, think real hard. Her annoyance was obvious and she gave him a moment before she continued, Jade wanted it to hit home just how much he had messed up, that what he was doing was making all of this that much worse and putting her further and further into Ras debt. "I told you when I got a lead on speedy that I had to call in every chip I had..well one of those chips was a favor from Ras She let that sink in for a moment and now he's called in the debt. It would have and should have been simple, I fulfill my part of the deal and be done with it but now thanks to you who knows what I will have to do.
Jade pushed herself up till she was standing because she was sure that if she remained that close to him that she would try to hit him again. It was true thou, she had no idea what more she would be ask to do but any blood on her hands from now on was also on his.

As Jade spoke, Roy couldn’t help but think that there wasn’t a ‘we’ to be worried about if they weren’t actually together, but the fact that she still referred to them as a couple was promising. At least that meant that this entire thing hadn’t been a total waste of time, but it seemed that some of it had been. Roy had known that there had been a cost to finding the real Roy Harper, but Jade’s words let him in on what kind of deal she had truly made in order to help him accomplish a mission the Justice League couldn’t.
”Jade, I am sorry. I am sorry that my obsession caused you to be indebted to Ra’s. I’m sorry for whatever he is forcing you to do,” stated Red Arrow as he walked towards. ”And I am sorry that you couldn’t trust me with this until now.” If she had only told him, then he could have found a way of getting her out of the obligation, and if he had to then the archer would have asked the Team for help in saving the woman he loved. Instead, she had chosen to let Ra’s control her actions, and now they were in the thick of it.
No matter how one looked at it, the situation was one that just sucked, and Roy couldn’t see a way out for them. ”But you have to know that any deal you made with him is going to be simple. He will never let you go, and he’ll take everything from you that he wants. The Shadows never let go of anything of value.” Sure, his campaign against them probably didn’t help anything, but Cheshire was one of the best assassins there was. Now that Ra’s had his claws in her, it was only a matter of time before he put her in a situation that would get her killed, and that would be truly devastating to her entire family.
”What we need is to disappear off of everyone’s radar. It is the only way to be safe,” said Roy as he walked over and picked up his bow. It wasn’t like it would be that hard for them to disappear from the public eye, but it was a lot easier for him. After all, there were two Roy Harpers, so if one were to suddenly vanish who would truly notice aside from the superhero community?

Maybe, but it would have been easier if you had just stayed away and kept your nose out of where it doesn't belong." Jade was done being nice, now she was getting angry and as Roy kept talking about them just disappearing Jade had had enough. She didn't have time to argue circles with Roy, their window was quickly closing 'have you listened to a single word I've said?!" She was speaking in a low and dangerous tone, the best she could do without actually yelling but it got the point across just as well. "There is no disappearing, there is no running from this. If I run I'm dead, your dead. my mother, my sister is dead and Lian is dead. I have to see this through and I will see this through and nothing you do will stop me from doing just that.
Hopefully that was enough to get her point across and as she finished her little anger speech Jade reached for her belt and removed a few smoke pellets and cupping them in her hand. With those at the ready Jade lowered her mask for protection and threw the pellets at the ground. Smoke quickly started filling the room "stay out of this red or you will force my hand. " Cheshire said as a warning, if he kept this up she was going to have to do something drastic. With her threat hanging in the air Jade silently made her exit and quickly disappeared from the scene before she could be spotted.
