Date: November 11th Location: Metropolis Mall Time: 3PM
'Spotted: B and S. Chic and cheerful up on Boulevard Hausmann. They dallied at department stores and stayed awhile at Tally Weijl. Down on Rue Saint-Honoré they courted couture at Palais Royale. And found the perfect outfits to bas&sh the competition. Then they headed to the Golden Triangle. Where Montaigne meets Georges V. And luxury goods are the opiate of choice. - ' The initial voice over for Gossip Girl played through the ear buds in her ear as M'gann watched the premiere of the fourth season on her small tablet. It was almost like a ritual when stoking herself up to go shopping. The Belles de Jour episode came on. Mind you she had spent the earlier part of the morning watching a ton of Queer Eye For The Straight Guy episodes as well. She contemplated getting Connor to sit down and watch some of the episodes with her but then thought better of it. They weren't dating anymore and something like coming over to her place to watch tv episodes he might be crossing that line or would it be? Was it? Couldn't they just hang out like that as friends? She and Kat stayed up all night watching movies and stuff, why couldn't they? If they hadn't dated before they could have and no one would have thought it odd, but now well when a person says 'dating' changes everything, they weren't kidding. Even after the fact you lived by separate rules which to M'gann made no sense at times. Humans had such weird rules sometimes. Like why is it ok as friends for her and Kat to do that but once it was her and Connor it was considered 'weird' or well according to Stacey Pper from her squad who also told M'gann going furniture shopping with her ex was weird. This of course made M'gann wonder if Connor was ok with all this or if he was feeling obligated to because she offered to help him decorate his place. Was it overstepping the friend thing? In her total excitement to redecorate and shop she'd forgotten to actually consider whether the boy really wanted this. What if he didn't and was just being polite? Or just being the 'old Connor' and not say anything even if he hated it? Well technically M'gann knew him enough to know if he hated something even if he didn't voice it and he didn't seem to hate the idea when she suggested taking him shopping for stuff for his apartment. Still not hating it and just being polite were two different things and she really didn't want him to then feel trapped in an apartment that he didn't really want to decorate in the first place. It was 'His' home after all, he would have final say. Still there was a slight creep of worry in her, one that she'd rectify once she saw him. If he was weirded out by this shopping thing than she'd politely back out. Yeah that's it, if he's not comfortable going shopping with me then I'll just give him a list of places to go on his own...Yeah! The young Martian started to smile again as a solution came to her. So perched precariously on one of the tall barstools at a table in the food court of the mall with her coveted Caramel Macchiato drink in her hand as she sipped it contentedly and patiently waited for her teammate to show up; getting into the shopping mood by watching a little Gossip Girl because nobody does shopping like Blaire Waldorf and Serena Vander Woodsen. Casually dressed in a white off the shoulder cashmere sweater, printed pants and a black overcoat, her vibrant red hair stood out, even if capped with a black Page Boy cap. Her red hair was almost a beacon amongst the black hues she wore and more importantly; should be easier for Connor to spot. So there she was contentedly watching her show on her tablet, legs swinging off the edge of the high stool she sat on though she did text him her general wear abouts. '@ the food court, wearing a black page boy cap'
Since having returned from Chicago M'gann had developed a love for hats and had all sorts of styles and colours she now wore. Hopefully she'd be easy enough for him to find in the crowd; her attire was quirky enough for him to spot. It was in many ways very 'M'gann'.

Connor was never hip and trendy, even as a superhero. His wardrobe always just consisted of an interchangeable short or long-sleeved black shirt with Superman's logo on it, blue jeans, brown or black combat boots, a large belt buckle and black finger-less gloves. That was it. He never saw the rage or fascination with intricate or more colorful costumes, so it was just kept simple a majority of times. Moreover, neither did he have the key to Superman's wardrobe closet that Supergirl seemed to have. So it wasn't like he could snag a costume from them either, but at the same time even if he had he would have never felt worthy of wearing it anyways. He remembered back to the first and last time when he impersonated Clark's Superman alter ego because he was caught up off world and it didn't sit well with him. He just felt like a fraud and like he truly wasn't worthy of wearing the suit, especially with the fact that he was just a clone. But after he graduated high school and began attending Metropolis University he started to see just how out of touch he was. Everybody had the most trendy of accessories - iPhones, Galaxies, expensive designer wear, etc. It made him feel like he was stuck in the seventies or something. Yet with that said, Connor didn't feel pressure to conform to anything. He wasn't the type to succumb to peer pressure, but he did feel like he could do with a wardrobe overhaul and some style. And who better than M'gann? She was always up-to-date with the fashion scene and knew what was the most fashionable to wear and what was not, what phone to have, etc. Therefore, why wouldn't he tag along with her? The Kents and Clark had been so gracious to spare him a couple hundred dollars to leisurely spend now that he was in college, so he figured why not splurge it on some clothes, a new phone, and some decor for his apartment? This flip phone definitely wasn't working... '@ the food court, wearing a black page boy cap'When the text appeared he chuckled. M'gann also had a quirky sense of style, so today would be interesting. He was definitely looking forward to them shopping if only to see what types of clothes she'd pick out for him. Thus, when he arrived she wasn't that hard to spot. He not only could spot her in a crowd filled with hundreds of people, but he also had super vision. Granted, he didn't have all the super visions Clark or Match seemed to have, but he could distinguish people from the different heat signatures they radiated. M'gann was the largest and different from others, so he easily found her. "Hey," he said, "Sorry if I'm late. I wasn't sure what to wear," an awkward smile crept onto his face. Even though that's why he was here - to shop - he still couldn't help but feel partially embarrassed. I mean, all he was wearing was a brown jacket, gray shirt, blue jeans, and brown boots.

Enter the song 'I'm in Here' by Sia with the simple piano and vocals playing in the background heart-wrenchingly. Why did she pick this episode to watch after Belles? M'gann wondered as she started to lean further into towards the tablet, her eyes glazing over with moisture and her cup mid sip as it stopped at her lips as the imminent meeting of Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf played out in that iconic meeting in 'Double Identity'.
It was probably the most comical scene to witness, M'gann with her white ear buds strung from her iPad to her ears eyes glazing with tears ready to topple over the edge of her lids with her drink at the edge of her lip frozen in place as she was drawn to the scene. Thank God no one was privy to the sappy dialogue playing of standard teen angst drama that was Gossip Girl's Chuck/Blair romance of epic proportions that rivaled Zedd's song clarity.
It was just then at the precipice of awkward and untold sentiments spoken that Connor showed up startling M'gann only because she was so transfixed on the story and immense feels that she didn't notice him till he was standing right there.
"Hey," he said.
"Connor, Hi!" M'gann stood up quickly to greet her friend who approached her table as she pulled down the ear buds and wiped her eyes before doing her usual hug of greeting. Hopefully he didn't notice the red puffy eyes and tears which dissipated quickly with a bit of concentration. There were advantages to being a shapes-shifter like herself. She also had total control of her body so by the time she released him from the hug it would look less like she'd been crying.
"Sorry if I'm late. I wasn't sure what to wear," an awkward smile crept onto his face.
"You did pretty good for yourself I think." M'gann cast the clone an understanding and approving smile at his outfit. She understood the clone's conundrum as his wardrobe was rather limited, something the Martian was hoping to have him expand a little. Though she was impressed he didn't show up in his typical black tshirt, brown jacket, jeans and sneakers. He at least changed it up with a grey shirt and boots so it was a start.
Some giggling off to the periphery caught the young Martian's eyes and she smiled knowingly. "Seems they approve of your loo--" ~Omigosh!~ M'gann's mind reeled and her face reddened. Sometimes it didn't pay to be a telepath because some people just projected their thoughts so loudly it was like a yell. She didn't even need to look in their minds they weren't even being subtle in the way they looked at Connor. "Uhm yeah, you shouldn't worry about what you're wearing trust me. They think you're fine." she kept it vague and smirked as she shook her head to shrug off the remnants of the other girls' thoughts.
Grabbing her tablet and stuffing it into her bag she slung it over her shoulders and grabbed her drink, finishing the last of it she turned around to pivot on the ball of her foot and leaped up to free throw the empty cup into the waste basket over Connor's head like a basketball player. M'gann beamed when she made the shot, ok so maybe she TKed it a little to make sure it went in but still. To any unknowing spectator it was a pretty good shot.
"Three points." she grinned raising her arms like she scored then looked to Connor. "So what do you want to do first? Shop for clothing, a new phone or some stuff for your apartment?"

Had Connor not been observant he might not have noticed her crying yet he did, but chose not to say anything. Plus, he had known M'gann long enough to recognize when something was wrong or rather when she was crying. I mean, they had only broke up about a year and a half ago. Though when they were together he was often forced to watch those shows alongside her even though he had never been a particular fan. So as she came to embrace him his mind briefly ran through the many of the shows he had seen. Hmph.. what could it be? Probably after Belles. That was one of her favorites and he remembered when she had a period where that was all she quoted. Ah.. good times.
His mind came back however once she mentioned his appearance. That was a relief. He was starting to wonder how people did this on a daily basis. He only had two sets of clothes and even that presented a dilemma, so he could only imagine what would have happened if he had ten or twenty sets of clothes? It just boggled his mind. How could humans do that?
Some giggling off to the periphery caught the young Martian's eyes and she smiled knowingly. "Seems they approve of your loo--" ~Omigosh!~ M'gann's mind reeled and her face reddened. Sometimes it didn't pay to be a telepath because some people just projected their thoughts so loudly it was like a yell. She didn't even need to look in their minds they weren't even being subtle in the way they looked at Connor. "Uhm yeah, you shouldn't worry about what you're wearing trust me. Hmph..? What girls?
Connor's gaze drifted from M'gann to the group of girls she spoke of. They were all giggling together and talking amongst themselves while looking at him. Although once his gaze fell upon them their gazes were immediately redirected to each other and they all started blushing and giggling. "He's looking right at us!" he heard one of them say among other things.
That.. also helped as well. It certainly quelled his doubts.
It also made him blush slightly.
His attention returned to M'gann as she shot the cup over his head. It hit the rim of the garbage, but was tipped over through M'gann use of telekinesis. That.. was cheating even though it was a close enough shot. "Hey, that's cheating," he says, chuckling upon turning back around. However, upon mention of what he'd like to do he shrugged. He was up for anything really. It didn't matter what order they went in. "I'm fine with either." Something told him however that they'd probably end up doing shopping first.

M'gann couldn't help but chuckle as Connor blushed slightly at the other girls' attention. She was surprised he wasn't already used to that kind of attention from others by now, but in some ways that meant his looks wasn't getting to his head like it can for most. It was nice to see some things about him hadn't changed even as other things had. She continued to giggle when Connor mentioned her cheating with the shot she took with her empty cup. "I don't even know what you're talking about." she replied with an innocent wink. Then naturally when M'gann mentioned what Connor would like to do first, the clone shrugged; seemingly up for anything. That was a good sign also. "I'm fine with either." Connor had said. "Alright, shopping for clothing it is." M'gann beamed excitedly as they walked, the young Martian talking about what's in for guys this year and trying to get a feel for what it was Connor was looking for. Sure she was going to try to push him a little out of his comfort zone with a few things but at the end of the day she was going to simply guide him in the direction of his own personal style. "Basically there are staples in a guys wardrobe that you just have to have." M'gann informed as she pulled out her tablet from her satchel and introduced Connor to Lookbooks. Lookbooks were essentially sets of photographs displaying fashion desigers' new collections all assembled for marketing purposes. It was a good way of seeing the individual articles of clothing together in an ensemble. "But see even though these are different styles, the basic items are there just layered or worn slightly differently." M'gann continued to talk and show Connor. "So jeans are one of the staples which you already have, t-shirt is the other...you have those in abundance too." M'gann smirked, "a sweater is another item you'd need and a hoodie for those casual days. Some khakis, dress pants, a blazer for those formal times, a nice white button down shirt and a grey one along with a tie. Shoes you need, boots, dress shoes, and sneakers you already have covered." she itemized. "See in all these looks you'll find a few o those articles on the models but they just wear them so it either looks preppy or hipster or well whatever they want. Really clothing is about personality and individuality. Your outfit tells a lot about you.""Are there any looks you kind of like in here?" M'gann asked of the styles in her lookbook. "Or are there styles you've seen others wearing on campus and stuff that you'd like to try?" M'gann asked as she lead them to the men's clothing shop. "Go ahead and pick some stuff out for yourself that you think you might like and I'll put some ideas together for you too." M'gann smiled as her fingers glide across the hangers on fabric and styles of shirts as she started to form ideas. God she loved shopping. Maybe she could do this for a living for people? She heard in Hollywood they had 'stylists' of their own. Now that would be a cool job. M'gann thought as she continued to look around. The young Martian moved about with what seemed like a casual eye, yet she actually had predetermined ideas and looks she wanted Connor to try. She knew some he would hate but maybe there would be a few he wouldn't mind or would warm up to. As the young Martian looked her fingers flicking aside articles that she didn't want as she looked upon things she did like all the while humming a soft tune to herself and bobbing her head slightly. Now and again she would hold an item up to Connor and ponder either on colour or cut or style. "Alright I think I've got a few things for you to try now...." M'gann said as she smiled up at Connor as she held a few things in her arms for him to try on. Ok maybe not a 'few' things...it was a lot but she was trying to cover the whole gamut and spectrum of things. "Ok, I know what this all looks like, but just trust me, ok?"
M'gann tried to pick different looks some out of Connor's comfort zone while others slightly more what he'd be ok with but still be different enough to be a change to his current style, since really the whole point of this was to try something different and new she went all out in trying to accomplish this. === Outfits M'gann put together for Connor to Try.
