| It was a Tuesday evening and Zatanna had made plans with her favorite female Bat member. The two were going to have dinner together and more than likely try to plan another females’ time together with a few other girls from the Team since the only other League member were pretty older than the two with the exception of Raquel though she was married now so she had less free time. Boy bands were obviously the best way to waste an evening but not all the girls on the Team were into pop as much as Barbara and Zatanna. Somehow, someway, they'd find an activity everyone could enjoy.
Unfortunately, the point where she arrived in Gotham and Barbara's apartment weren't close. Zaanna was in downtown Gotham late in the evening, and if she were a normal girl then she would have called a cab to rush to somewhere safe. While this wasn't Bludhaven, the crime rate in Gotham was still pretty high. So it wasn't too much of a surprise to notice a large explosion less than a block away as she walked the streets; what was surprising was the building that was being robbed was a place owned by Bruce Wayne.
The girl's brow lifted as she watched five people rush into a building. Someone was attacking Wayne Industries? That was going to incur the wrath of the Batman. It would have been pretty funny just to stand around until he Dark Knight showed up but that would have also got her a piece of his wrath for standing around and doing nothing. Sending a quick text to Barbara, the magician postponed her plans due to sudden work then transformed into her costume.
She was quick to find the group responsible and couldn't help but feel sense of déjà vu to see five people in suits that made their faces impossible to see. "Huh?" This couldn't have been the same group as a few days ago in Metropolis, right? The woman shook her head as she put on her game face. "Stop right there," she commanded just for the group to look at her. They only stopped for a second before the small female stayed and once again the sprinklers exploded. When water balls started to form in the area, she was sure this was the magical female she faced off with last time.
"You wanna go toe to toe again? Fine," Zatanna hissed. "Sllaberif ylf!"
Several fireballs flew at each of the waterballs, creating steam. The room was full of white mist, making it hard to see. Zatanna groaned a little; she really didn't think ahead. If only Conner was here like last time. He would have no problem seeing though this and finding those guys.

When Robin got the alert of an alleged attack on Wayne Enterprises, he immediately suited up and made his way to the building from the Batcave via motorcycle. It was rare that anyone was bold enough to attack Wayne Industries at its very source. These people must have been either motivated, desperate, or confident in their ability to succeed. Robin quickly got off his motorcycle when he reached the Wayne Enterprises building, and saw mist inside the lobby of the building. He used the mist as cover, utilizing the heat sensors in his cowl to quickly isolate and attack multiple enemies.
He took out one of the non-magical goons with a well-placed kick to the chest, and hurled a birdarang that hit another one in the side of the head, knocking him down. The Boy Wonder then drew his bō staff and stood next to Zatanna. When the mist cleared, it would appear as if he had suddenly appeared next to her. He had noted the use of magic that the hostile spellcaster employed, and he would do his best to help. "Do you know what they're after?" Robin asked as he stood next to Zatanna.

She felt someone behind her but before she decided to attack, the mist cleared slightly. Apparently, the fog was a good cover for someone one of the bat members to come here, though it should have been obvious one of Bruce’s sons would show up. She was surprised Batman himself didn’t appear and start barking orders since this was his building. Zatanna shook her head; she didn’t need to jinx herself by thinking such things. “Robin,” she said in a relieved tone. Her eyes shifted from him towards the body of a random thug on the ground.
“Aren’t you such a sneaky boy…”
He was serious as ever, asking her about the task at hand. Conner at least made it slightly social but she supposed the newest robin was the less fun one of all three she knew. “If it’s who I think it is, they’re after some high security tech,” Zatanna explained. She jogged over towards the hole in the wall and looked around. While she had managed to stop the attack from the girl, the water manipulating woman wasn’t here. The heavy weapon using man and lightning throwing guy weren’t around either.
“They’re five of them, and I’m pretty sure they all have magic. This time though, they brought a few extras,” she finished explaining as she pointed at the thug that Robin took out. There weren’t random thugs last time but it didn’t mean they were just a group of five. They were definitely up to no good if this was the second big technologies company they were hitting. Stealing from Lex Corp was pretty bad but stealing from Wayne Industries would get everyone the wrath of Batman.
“Where do you keep your ultra-secret stuff in a place like this? That’s likely where they’re headed.”
The boy knew more about this place than her so it was best to let him show her the way.

Robin simply remained stoic as Zatanna called him out for being sneaky; he knew it was a jest on her part. He examined the hole in the lobby wall, and listened intently as Zatanna relayed information to him about the crooks. Five magic wielders, and some street thugs accompanying them. A motley crew, and an odd one too. Robin walked through the hole in the wall, which led to a hallway that stretch out to a door. The door opened into a recreational area with state-of-the-art entertainment. Robin then glanced back at Zatanna.
"Ultra-secret stuff? Wayne keeps the more sensitive hardware in a vault on the forty-second floor." He waited for Zatanna to follow before going onward.

All of Wayne Tech's super secret and super sensitive things were kept on a much higher floor meaning they had time to stop them she hoped. The last thing she wanted to do was let something be stolen from this place. Robin probably felt more pressure to succeed considering he was much closer to Bruce. "Well then, we know where they're going. Let's get to the elevator." Zatanna jogged over towards the elevator until she saw the debris on the floor from the hole in the ceiling. That hole looked like it went up a lot of floors.
"Then again, elevators are so civilian and giant holes are totally the way to go," she suggested. She was sure he didn't want a spell casted on him since robins came with utility belts that seemed to have every type of thing inside. "Race ya!" Quickly, she used her backwards speech to give herself the ability fly then rushed up the hole a bit recklessly, so it wasn't such a surprise she was almost hit by a lightning bolt attack from the man waiting for the two heroes above.f

Robin watched as Zatanna flew up through the gaping holes in the floors of Wayne Enterprises. When Zatanna offered to race him, Robin simply took out his grapple and fired it upwards. It latched onto a ceiling and Robin zoomed upwards, on Zatanna's tail. He then perceived a lightning bolt flash across the floor they were on, nearly hitting Zatanna. Robin himself maneuvered around the bolt with incredible reflexes, landing in a crouch. A nearby plaque told him they were on the forty-second floor. That meant that Bruce's vault was nearby. Robin knew the exact location, but it would be difficult to get there with all these thugs and magic-wielders blocking the two heroes.
The Boy Wonder then spotted the lightning-casting man, who held two bolts of crackling electricity in each hand. His eyes glowed golden, and he shot a beam of lightning at Robin. Robin dove to the side, landing behind a nearby desk. He came up in a crouch, peering around the side of the desk. The young Robin then leaped over the desk and hurled a concussive grenade at the man's feet to hinder his hearing and coordination. "Now," he said to Zatanna, signaling her to attack.

While they both had managed to dodge the bolts of lightning, Zatanna wasn't happy to have to maneuver though the air in order not to get zapped. In her eyes, it was slightly cheating. She was grateful Robin was quick and nimble enough to keep from getting hurt since the last thing she needed where Batgirl and Nightwing enraged over her since she was likely responsible for Robin's health in their eyes if the two were teaming up.
The newest Boy Wonder was quick on his feet and his head just like the two before him. The moment he made it to the flow, he was quick to find a hiding spot as the magic user tried zapping the flying Zatanna. Once Robin got close enough, he threw something that the man's feet that made a loud noise. Immediately her opponent seemed disoriented from the attack and Robin was shouting for her to attack.
"Erif nrub, nordlauc elbbub!"
The spell caused an explosion around the man and sent him flying backwards and down the hole. Zatanna landed on the ground next to Robin. "One down, probably too many to count more. Let's get a move on," she insisted. They were on the floor where the vault was so the two needed to hurry. He just needed to lead the way since he knew where the vault was on this floor.

Robin nodded when Zatanna said to get a move on. "Right," he responded. "The vault is nearby, but we'll still probably have to cut through hostile reinforcements before we can access it," he reported. He moved forward, running with athleticism and speed. He rounded a corner and kept going, unwilling to let these crooks gain access to Bruce's vault. It was unacceptable, to say the very least. He knocked down a thug with a jumping kick to the chest and landed in a crouch. These goons were untrained, but they provide good fodder and distraction for the sorcerers involved.
Suddenly, an automated voice rang through the halls. Security breach. Forty-second floor. Vault compromised.
Alarms went off, and red light filled the halls. "We need to get there quickly," Robin proclaimed. "It's two hallways away."

All they had to do was cut through the small amount of men and get to the vault and stop this robbery. The last thing either wanted was to get Batman to glare at them for failing to stop a few criminals. Robin was quick with the acrobatics while Zatanna tossed about spells to throw the enemy forces about the room in confusion. It would have been a proud moment if it weren’t for the fact the fight with the goons just distracted them for the true goal: protect the vault.
The alarm was sounded and they were both quick to remember they had more important things to do. “Okay,” she shouted as she ran as fast as her feet could carry her. By the time she turned to the second hall, the magician saw that man from before with Conner as he once again gave something to a small woman before she become liquefied and seemed to disappear.
“Too late, again,” she growled. They might have failed at stopping them from taking something from the vault, but she wasn’t going to let the man get away.
