"Sorry. I asked that already."
Connor had said in realization of what he'd just asked M'gann.
"It's fine...Don't worry about it." M'gann replied offering a small reassuring smile. "It's not really worth remembering all that."
"That is really cool though. The guitar playing." He gave M'gann an apologetic smile and turn his attention to the food.
"Thanks." M'gann said in return casting what looked like an appreciative smile and went to turning her attention to her food as well before she told Gar that she was cutting her visit here short. It was better that way wasn't it? Easier for Connor if he didn't have to be looking at her all the time and feeling like he needed to be anywhere but where she was. It was better she wasn't around. She hated making him feel this way and she didn't know how else to fix it other than not be around him. So she had decided to make her exit after dinner but then Gar piped up with his over exuberance and how could she say no to him?
"Blue Moon? You gonna play?! I wanna hear you play... Oh! We could come along?" Gar managed to actually sink most of his food before his outburst, grinning brightly up at M'gann. The young Martian feeling like she wasn't gonna get out of this reunion -that- easily.
"Its not like there's anyone else here anyway! So take us with you!"
"I know Gar but there's going to be a lot of people there and not everyone is fond of that type of scene or comfortable being in places like that..." Her amber eyes darted over to Connor briefly. She knew he hated that kind of scene and she could sense his uneasiness. He never really liked crowds and was the stay at home kinda guy. Sure she was always trying to get him to expand his horizons but she didn't want to subject him to even more discomfort than he was already feeling. She never liked making anyone uncomfortable or make them do anything they didn't want to. Yet to her surprise Connor was actually offering to go.
"We could come support you. Friendly faces in the crowd. If you wanted." Connor suddenly offered making it just that much weirder for M'gann. One moment he's wanting to be anywhere but where she was and next he's offering to support her. Part of her wanted to believe the sincerity in him right now...wished that in the very least they could still be friends; still close. But she wondered how much of that was just her wishful thinking and if what she thought she sensed in him was just her own optimism in wanting things to be ok again.
"I'm sure me and Beast Boy can find something fun to do though, if you would rather do it alone." Conner added giving M'gann an out in a way, if she needed it.
"Thank you. I appreciate the thought..." M'gann smiled, appreciating Connor's gesture and giving her an out but she'd be selfish if she took him up on that offer. She knew he wasn't comfortable and didn't like those things, she'd be selfish and inconsiderate if she made him go even if part of her wanted it. She always put the needs of others over her own and this moment was no different. "But, you hate coffee houses Connor and you hate crowds, all of which will be where I'm going. I'm not about to put you through all that just so I have familiar faces in the crowd. You don't have to do that for me. I'll be fine." she said. "But thanks for offering."
She then looked over at her brother apologetically, but he must know her personality wouldn't allow for anyone to do something for her that they really don't want to do and feel obligated to, especially if it makes them uncomfortable and Connor would be more than uncomfortable...he would hate it. And what kind of a person would she be if she made him go anyways even if she knows how he feels?
::He's not comfortable with this Gar and it's not fair for me to make him go knowing he's not really ok with this.:: M'gann explained mentally to Garfield, hoping he'd understand and not be too upset with her.
"But, how about I bring a little bit of the Blue Moon here to you instead?" M'gann offered. "I could sing and play for you one of my songs?"
