At her exclamation of how it would be ‘a-mazeballs’, Dick could only smile. “He already has enough Batsuits as it is, he’d probably go for it if he could just switch between all of the different types with a simple Bio-suit.” He felt ridiculous saying ‘simple bio-suit’, considering, well, that should be incredibly difficult to figure out. Dick would probably start to go Bruce’s route at that point, get suits for different occasions, just not as overboard.
She was right as they made their way to the danger. He was a planner, and even if he’d been flying solo for a while, he knew how to work in a team situation and what he was doing. It was basically second nature to him, just like running on rooftops, jumping from building to building, fighting for his life against Metahumans. He may not be a natural leader, but a strategist? Yeah, he’d picked that one up.
He was a little worried even if she sent to him through their link that he shouldn’t worry. Even if he knew what he was doing, there was a huge flaw here. But it might also put their stronger enemy out of play. Dick was a bit of a gambler, although he much preferred the careful approach. But still, it was time to go with his gut and just have hope.
He knew it was never a good idea to say that you wouldn’t let your partner down. You could fail, you could die. They were fighters, fighting against beings that were far more powerful than them sometimes. But he knew she could handle herself, it was just that he couldn’t stomach the thought of losing another friend. Ever.
When Dick heard her screams, he looked over, ignoring his opponent for a moment. Bad idea, but still, he had to look out for his friends first and foremost. He knew this could happen, that this might go so badly with that woman’s powers. He needed to break from this fight and swap opponents.
And then M’gann began to use what they had all learned from Black Canary and their other teachers. She was able to hold her own, and it was amazing. Dick didn’t catch much of it, considering he was dealing with his own opponent at the moment. Dick twirled his sticks around his hands and lunged forward, initiating a swift assault on his opponent as Copperhead came back to his feet.
The sticks danced with a flurry over the man’s chest. If Dick wanted to he’d be breaking ribs, doing serious damage, but he knew from his training just how much force to apply so as not to do serious mortal damage like that. He ducked Copperhead’s wild punch and drew both sticks up, beating his arm with three quick blows, two from one stick, one from the other, then backhanded the man’s face with his short end of the stick.
“I’ve got you beat with skill, so why don’t you just give up and make this easy?” Dick questioned his opponent, spinning his sticks around in his hands. He gestured over his shoulder with one of them, “Looks like your partner is in some trouble back there. We’ve got you two beat. Give up now and this won’t be as bad as it could be.”
Of course he was sure this man had a good idea that Dick wouldn’t kill him, but still, he could save himself an intense beating, and that’s what Dick was getting at for now. The sooner this ended, the better. A prolonged fight was never a good thing, after all. People in the area could get sucked in and that wouldn’t be good for anyone.
