Personality:
Alfred is very much the moral compass and confidant of Bruce Wayne. He has been there since the very start, offering his own guidance and support should Bruce ever need it. He has a dry wit about him, often willing to have his say on Bruce’s personal matters. Alfred has helped Bruce out on many occasions, including thinking up strategies to take down criminals Bruce doesn’t necessarily have an answer for – needless to say, he’s been a big part of Bruce’s ascendency to Batman. The support he’s offered Bruce has transcended onto the other members of the Bat Family. His loyalty is unquestionable, as he feels a sense of duty towards Bruce and his father; Thomas.

History:
Alfred grew up in England, and joined the army once he had come of age. He served in various conflicts during his time with the armed forces, travelling all over the world and gaining skills as a field medic. He spent years in the British Guard, and then MI-5 before retiring to pursue a career in acting. He performed in various plays all over the United Kingdom, pursuing his dream since a young boy. It was during this time in his life that his father passed away. At this time he decided to honor his father’s wish of him becoming a butler for the Wayne Family. He honoured the wish, but after several months of service he did have a desire to return to acting.

These plans were soon forgotten, after a young Master Wayne returned home from school one day after having been bullied. Alfred taught Bruce how to defeat the bully, using strategy as opposed to brute force. Bruce defeats this bully, and requests Alfred to stay on as the Wayne family butler; which he did so.

Following the deaths of Thomas and Martha Wayne, Alfred was named as Bruce’s legal guardian. There were a few complications surrounding this, but Master Bruce was the one who managed to sort that mess out. From there, Alfred raised Bruce as though he were his own son – with the help of a close friend of Bruce’s father; Dr. Leslie Thompkins. Bruce eventually decides to travel abroad, but Alfred rather than join Master Bruce, decides to remain at the Manor.

Upon Bruce’s return, Alfred supports Master Wayne with his crusade to save Gotham from its evil underbelly. Alfred has always been there, by Bruce’s side, aiding him in any which way he can. Including having a hand in raising Dick Grayson, Tim Drake and anyone else to ever join the Bat Family.
