• Other: Bruce Wayne, adopted father
Richard Grayson, adopted brother
Timothy Drake, adopted brother
ALLIANCE: Previously; The Team,Current; none
RANK: n/a
WEAPONS:Firearms: An exceptionally skilled marksman, Jason has intensively trained in the use of virtually any firearm and has deadly aim. While he is most commonly seen sporting a pair of semi-automatic pistols, he will also swap in any weapon to his arsenal that will be of use for the situation from a sniper rifle to a rocket launcher and anything in between.
Projectiles: Like anyone who has trained under the batman, he will always have something small and normally sharp to throw not dissimilar to the Batman's 'batarangs' but having dropped the shape.
Blades: Having also trained in swordsmanship, he isn't really one for huge blades unless given to him although he is proficient in their use, instead preferring to work with smaller knifes and blades and pretty much always has atleast one hunting knife on him.
Explosives: Quite adept at making things go boom, not only is he not akin to making explosives out of either easy to get components or military grade but he also tends to have on him ready made devices, small enough to fit several in a pocket but still packing quite the punch
POWER: Being human, Jason has no meta-powers like some others running the streets but he has trained intensively from a young and has quite a few skills much greater than the average person;Martial Arts: Trained not only by the Batman, on his return to life Jason travelled the world much like his former mentor to expand his knowledge. Through this he has trained with some of the greatest the world has to offer including the likes of Lady Shiva making him an exceptionally formidable hand to hand opponent.
Armed Combat: On his travels he also ensured that he was trained in armed combat, specialising in the use of varying forms of firearms as well as swords and blades.
Physical Conditioning: Jason was always pretty durable having survived for years on the streets, but since being taken in by the batman he always had to be in peak physical condition and has stayed that way, rivalling and even surpassing olympic athletes.
Acrobatics: In order to become 'Robin', Jason had to learn a lot of acrobatic skills and while he is no Dick Grayson in that department, he still has quite advanced abilities and he still uses them to this day when necessary.
Intellect: Jason is by no means stupid, Bruce got for him the finest tutors and both he and Alfred also taught the young boy and unlocked his potential, and he has grown in to his pretty much genius level intellect. He did exceptional in his studies and has highly honed skills in leadership, criminology, strategy and investigation.
Multi-lingual: He is fluent in several additional languages including French, German and Italian and also has some abilities in various others such as Mandarin, Cantonese and Russian.
Technical: The teenager has always liked to be quite hands on with things and this shows in his abilities. Not only is he able both make and diffuse up to military grade explosives, he is also able to maintain, repair and drive cars as well as being able to also drive boats and even pilot a helicopter.
BLOOD TYPE: B+
ORIENTATION: Heterosexual
MENTOR: Batman (former), Nightwing (former)
SCARS AND MARKINGS: The lazarus pit was quite successful in fading most of the scars obtained from being Robin and his rather brutal death, but he has still obtained some in his later years expected from intense training and the life of a vigilante.
COLOR(S): Black, grey and red
UNIFORM: Once upon a time, Jason donned the 'R' crested robin suit as can be seen by his memorial below mount justice, but oh how times have changed since then. With new life came a new wardrobe. A grey, sturdy and Kevlar infused top adorbs his upper half, reaching down to wrists and as high as his jaw line to provide as much protection as possible while his lower half consists of black pants, thick enough to handle leaping across roof tips but still lose enough that he can move with ease and fluidity. The footwear accompanying his outfit are durable, black and steel toe capped somewhere between an engineer and a motorbike boot. Hands are generally always hidden beneath black leather gloves while around his waist is a belt. Much different from the utility belts so familiar to those of batman and robin while it does have a few compartments and space for attachments they are minor in comparison to that of his old yellow one, its main use coming from the holsters that are attached to it at each hip which are home to his trusty pistols.
The last and key feature of his uniform is in his name sake. Always perfectly polished the red helmet encase his entire head and is durable enough to provide substantial protection from most assaults as well as inflicting quite a bit of pain should you get smacked with it which isnt unheard of if he doesnt happen to be wearing it. Built in to it are his radio and transmitter as well as night vision lenses allowing him to work in all hours. Beneath this he also wears a domino mask, attached with spirit gum and also with activatable night vision lenses.
Whether he is in or out of uniform, Jason will pretty much always be seen also donning a brown leather biker jacket, it's usefulness eternal with its copious inner pockets.
DESCRIPTION: With natural black hair with a tendency to flop messily rather than laying tidily, Jason's eyes while naturally a bright sapphire blue often can be seen with an undeniable fleck of vibrant green in the right light. The tallest of the bat-children, Jason stands at a solid 6' tall and weighs in at a rather hefty 225lbs. With his stature though all of this weight comes from muscle obtained from his years of intensive training and gives him both the strength and agility required to pull off being his alter ego.
Ever since his resurrection his skin has been slightly less pale than would normally be healthy, and a quick look shows scars that while normally hidden by clothes would reveal someone who regularly indulges in combat both armed and unarmed with numerous marks from self stitched wounds. If you look exceptionally close there are also the faint marks from a childhood lost to both the streets and from night after night of running around as Robin and even from his brutal beating recieved from the joker but these have been long since faded from the lazarus pit.

Fear: Death is something he has faced and accepted once so the concept of this doesn't frighten him, but what does is losing it all. Of still being stuck in this life and not being able to do anything, to not be able to change anything.
Desire: Jason is very aware that he is on borrowed time, and he wants to do all that he can with this. His desire is to try and set things right as much as possible; he wants to make a difference and since he has nothing to lose he feels it is his right to do this how he thinks is right. He wants to be the voice and action for those who can't and he doesn't want to see anyone suffer like he has in his life.
There is a part deep inside that wants to be able to put this life behind him, to settle down where no-one knows who he has and he can have a boring job and just get on with life but he knows that this isn't an option; he wouldn't be able to knowing the world is in the state that it is so this is nothing more than an unattainable dream and he knows that he will only rest when he is deadagain.
HABITS: When he isn't wearing his namesake, Jason has a habit of pushing his hands through his hair when he is anxious or concerned.
He is also quite a heavy smoker and can't help but laugh at people when they say that it'll kill him.
PET PEEVE: The easier question is what doesn't annoy him. Despite the obvious things such as corruption, injustice and abuse he hates it when he hears himself being referred to as the 'reckless' robin or even worse, the 'bad' robin. He is also not overly keen on the idea that he has been replaced even though he is yet to meet the new kid behind the 'R'.
TRAITS: While it may not be the only feeling in his repertoire, Jason's anger is a big driving force for him. He's angry at the world; he had to try and get by with a less than ideal hand growing up and just when things did start to look good, everything was taken away from him. The training he received since his return did at least help him to channel and control this more than the batman ever did. To those he truly feels for he can be beyond compassionate; why else would he drop everything at the chance to see his mother but it can blind his other senses. Much like how he is now able to follow his true moral compass unlike how the batman tried to make him follow his, he is finally able to do what he believes is right.
He does tend to live with all of his emotions very close to the surface and certain traits are obvious about him, his reckless streak and his ruthlessness when it comes to criminals being some of them. For all his cocky, sarcasticness however there is a lot hidden to the world about him. When he was resurrected via the lazarus pit it changed him mentally, as would be expected although it is hard to tell what he was living before then and what has been a side effect of death. He struggles with sleep, a chronic insomniac it helps his job being a very nocturnal one but when he does sleep it tends to be on sofa's randomly rather than planned, and plagued with night terrors. As would be expected he does have quite a case of PTSD; dying after all is quite traumatic but he masks all of the neurosis and anxiety that this can bring at times, having quite a good hold on it most of the time and refusing to let others see his weaknesses. Metaphorically, he is always wearing a mask so others don't see the truth behind him and all his insecurities.

HISTORY: Tragic heroes whose lives are devoted to protecting the weak so often start with a sob story, and Jason Todd's was no different from the rest of them. Born to a dysfunctional couple, having a child was going to make or break Catherine and Willis Todd whether they wanted to admit it or not. By the time Jason was age 7 his father was carted off by the police; a repeat offender the criminal had gotten in way over his head and got caught in the act and there was no way he was going to be able to weasel his way out of jail time. By the time the young boy was age 8 his mother's previous minor drug uses had become even worse resulting in the child looking after the woman regularly through various states of consciousness and lucidity, trying to protect her from the men knocking on the door demanding money. By age 9 he had witnessed his own mother die in front of him from a drug overdose, leaving him parent-less after being abandoned by their father whom had been released after 18 months imprisonment. By age 10 he was well learnt in how to survive on his own, refusing to go into foster care or an orphanage Jason was just another kid sleeping on the streets of Gotham, struggling to even eat most days but surviving nonetheless mostly through stealing and sometimes pity. The latter he despised.
At age 12 it had been accepted that this was going to be his life, it was a matter of time until he would get caught out but he always expected it would be the police who got him, but how wrong he was. There was money to be found even by those who had nothing and a common place for it in Gotham was in car parts and some were worth more than others. Having come across the vehicle 'hidden' in a dark alleyway it didn't take an idiot to realise that people would pay well for something off of the Dark Knight's fabled Batmobile and it didn't take long for the scrawny, scruffy black haired child to get to work. Credit where credit was due, it wasn't exactly anything simple removing the cars wheels and the fact that Jason even managed to get one of them off was a major accomplishment but he hadn't counted on it's owner returning and no matter how good he had gotten at running, even he couldn't outrun the Batman.
What he had expected was to be turned in to the officials, to end up another child stuck in the orphanages of the town, what he hadn't been expecting was to be adopted by billionaire Bruce Wayne. The publicised action confused Jason as much as it did everyone else after all he was a nobody, a dirty little street kid destined to follow in his fathers footsteps if he survived that long. He couldn't even attend school; he was too aggressive and got in too many fights with the other students so it was easier for him to be home schooled and it turned out he was actually exceptionally bright given the opportunity. It also wasn't soon until he learnt of his adoptive father's secret identity and all the reasoning became clear, Bruce had seen something in him that night he found him and soon enough Jason started undergoing intensive training along with his education to replace Dick Grayson who had recently moved on to the mantle of Nightwing.
Following training from both the Batman and the former Boy Wonder, Jason soon wore his own Robin costume with pride as they went out in to the night. He was skilled, very much so but he frequently had to be kept in check with his force. There were too differences between the old and the new Robin, not only was he taller but he had a tendency to be quite a bit rougher; hit and ask questions later so to speak. To help him, Batman requested Nightwing take him on as a part of The Team that he was now leading considering how well it had helped Dick when he was a young teenager and in due time Jason was welcomed into the team and, given the title he bore, there was a lot of expectation which he lived up to. Sure there were times when he could be a bit reckless in some people's eyes, patience after all wasn't something he was naturally blessed with and at first communication was tricky given he had been trained to work with the batman of all people but he got there in time just as his predecessor had before him.
All good things had to come to an end however. He was on a mission with the team. Infiltrating a hostage situation the night was going to go bad the moment he recognised one of the men tied up as his father who he hadn't seen for coming up 8 years. When a skirmish between hostages and hostage takers came out, the need to keep everything about his identity secret at the orders of Bruce meant no-one was any wiser as a bullet took the life of Willis Todd resulting in any semblance of stealth or even control being lost by Jason. All orders went out the windows and Robin was in on the scene, taking out all of the offenders who came at him. Yes Willis was a useless waste of space, but he was still his father and the only real family he had and if anything was going to happen to it, Jason wanted it to be by his hand. When his murdered broke free of the room, it was Robin that pursued, cape billowing behind him as the fifteen year old followed him into the roof leaving everyone else in his wake.
Fortunately for the team, Batman had been nearby and in on the comm. link so at the news that Robin had seemingly lost it he was on his way but by the time he or any of the other members of the team made it onto the roof it was too late. They arrived to the shooter falling from the edge of the high roof, plummeting to a rather gruesome death and Robin stood on the ledge. To this day, the only person who knows what really happened was Jason and no matter what he pleaded he knew that everyone had their mind made up on what happened. While he easily could have been trying to catch him, to safe him for an even worse fate he knows that everyone who was there, even his mentor thinks he pushed him. Needless to say the whole incident had him pulled out of the Team entirely, and even off of patrol with Batman instead he was stuck on monitor duty, confined to the batcave where there wasn't even a reason for him to put on his suit.
Things changed however when fresh intel came in. Images from over in the Middle East had a familiar face in them, the mother he had seen die in front of him was unmistakable and with Batman out for the night he didn't even alert Alfred when he packed his suit and left for Gotham international; taking one of the Wayne Enterprise private jets he was heading over.
It was all a ruse though, either doctored images or sheer coincidence he didn't know but Jason had been trapped. Bound to the point that even the Boy Wonder couldn't escape the ties, he was at the hands of the joker and mercy was not something in the clown's MO. The pain was unbearable, as the crowbar was swung into his back, chest, stomach, arms, anywhere it could hit Jason had never felt anything like it before and there came a point, as he was drifting in and out of consciousness, that he knew Bruce wasn't going to swoop in and safe the day. It was a bitter sweet relief when the beating stopped, gasping for breath with a collapsed lung the distant sound of the joker leaving came to his ears; words were said but he was beyond comprehending them, Jason accepted death when through eyes stinging with blood and tears he saw a countdown attached to what could only be explosives. He didn't recall the moment he gave in, he doesn't remember the explosion, all he remembered was the relieve of not having to fight anymore.
In any normal story, that would have been the end. A tragic, untimely death for the fifteen year old but apparently not as the case soon became.
Green, green was all Jason could see; surrounding him, engulfing him, he felt like he was drowning. As he was pulled out of the Lazarus pit the following days were a blur, he had no control and no sense of self as the Al Ghul's nursed him back to both health and sanity; until then nobody had known if the Lazarus Pit was capable of bringing someone back from death or the effect it would have if it even worked but in time Jason learnt what had happened. It was Ra's and the Lights influence that led to the joker being there, but the early death of the boy was not anticipated and especially when the batman was too late, there was some remorse and they hoped to rectify the situation at hand; nobody was supposed to die that day especially not Jason.
This was his second chance, and when he was able Jason went on his way. He was going to return to Gotham straight away but he received news that following his death, no real punishment came to the Joker, nothing worse than he had already been through at least and it sparked something in the young man. He didn't blame Bruce for not saving him, that wasn't possible, but he could have put an end to the madness that took away the one he had called his son. He set out, he followed in his previous mentors footsteps vowing that he would become better than him, that since it was clear no-one else was going to actually pull the world out of the poisonous cycle it was in and make a difference he would be that person, after all what did he have to lose? Everything he had had been taken from him, there was no worse that could befall him and he was willing to take that risk if it meant change would finally happen.
Over a few years he learnt, he trained, he became more skilled in both armed and unarmed combat and above all he learnt how to kill and without remorse. He learnt how to control crime, how to minimalise the victims from it and when that doesn't work, elimination was the next step. Willing to go the extra mile to make a difference that so many of the self-proclaimed heroes refuse he is ready to return with his new identity, his run as Robin something of the past especially with his replacement taking the reigns as he now bears the title of the Red Hood.

RP SAMPLE: ((This is just a first post of mine in a thread on another site I am part of))
For how much he didn’t like the city, Jason wasn’t able to simply leave it when he knew there was stuff going on that he could easily put an end to. And easy was an understatement, especially given all the corruption in the city you could hardly even turn around without thugs in dark corners with shady deals. As he lay flat across the cold roof of a building, elbows weren’t far from the edge as head leant towards the sight of the rifle in hands.
Numerous small gangs of dealers had been cropping up all over the shop, clearly a part of a bigger picture it was quite a sensitive subject for the young man especially since they were targeting anyone and everyone. He’d traced to several locations one of which was where the end of the rifle was pointing, with a clear shot of the ‘secret’ exit to the dingy little drug den it wasn’t long until door swung open, the faces of the men he had been expecting emerging and visible in the dim light that seeped out of the door with them. Mere moments from when they had stepped out it was Jason’s’ turn, and it was all over within the blink of an eye, four silenced shots in quick succession and four men lifeless on the ground.
Pulling himself up to his knees all evidence was removed, shells collected in to an empty compartment on his utility belt, the red helmeted figure did find himself peering over the ledge curiously as the familiar serenade of sirens and flashing lights grabbed his attention. Watching for where they were going, the firearm was slung over his back, strap coiling around his shoulder and chest so it wasn’t likely to go anywhere before he reached in to the inner pocket of his somewhat trademark leather jacket, pulling out a slip of paper. Looked like he wasn’t the only one of the case of these good for nothings that evening.
Shrugging it off though it was one less place for him to visit, and he was soon off across the rooftop; for how useful they were they weren’t exactly the most subtle of places if there happened to be eyes in the sky, heading across a few before dropping a line from the side of the old monarch theatre simply wanting to get out of sight as soon as possible, landing almost silently to the untrained ear. Unfortunately for him however it would seem somebody with training was in his vicinity as feet had hardly touched the ground and something clocked him on the chin, one hand automatically drawing one of the pistols that was holstered at his hip.
”Nice to see you too.” As soon as he registered who it was, a familiar figure from after his days of being a part of the whole ‘batman’ scene, the weapon was lowered, other hand rising to run over the underside of the polished red helmet where it had been stricken. “Is that how you greet everyone these days?” It was surprising how often he was greeted with a punch to the face, actually come to think of it it wasn’t even a rare occurrence, it had just been a while since it was ‘family’ doing it.
ANYTHING ELSE? Since there is pretty much nothing on Jason's actual past in YJ other than his presence and the fact his death happened I spliced together from his various backstories from other things to what I hoped would be realistic for it and hopefully you guys like it.
