KARA ZOR-EL18. Heroine.------------------------------------------------------------------- ALIAS(ES): Supergirl, Kara Kent BIRTHDAY: September 22, 1961 (Chronologically 56 years old. Biologically 18 years old due to stasis.) BIRTHPLACE: Argo City, Krypton CURRENT RESIDENCE: Metropolis FAMILY:
• Mother: Allura In-Ze, aged 42. Deceased. • Father: Zor-El, aged 45. Deceased. • Uncle: Jor-El, aged 43. Deceased. • Aunt: Lara Lor-Van, aged 39. Deceased. • Cousin: Clark Kent (Kal-El), aged 37. Alive. • Cousin: Conner Kent (Kon-El), aged 7. Alive.
ALLIANCES: The Young Justice Team, The Justice League RANK: Young Justice Team Member WEAPON: N/A POWERS:
Kryptonian Physiology
As a Kryptonian exposed to the radiation of a yellow sun, Kara possesses many incredible abilities and is, potentially at least, as powerful as Superman. It is important to note however - because of her relatively recent arrival Earth - Kara lacks Superman's many years of experience in the use of those powers.
- Solar Energy Absorption: The keystone of all a Kryptonian's powers; Kara has the ability to absorb ambient solar energy and utilize this as a catalyst to manifest all her other abilities. This ability can be a two-edged sword, as absorbing certain forms of radiation can disrupt her powers and adversely affect her health.
- Superhuman Strength: Like any Kryptonian, Kara is capable of performing feats of immense physical strength through a combination of her bodies superior musculature and the utilization of an exotic energy field that is generated and projected out from within her bodies cells. Kara is potentially as strong as her cousin Kal-El - Superman - and is able to easily lift and manipulate objects with mass well into the multi-megaton range.
- Superhuman Stamina: Kara like all Kryptonian's has nearly unlimited stamina due to their reliance on the absorbed solar energy that their cells process. However, she does need to eat to recover bodily materials spent fixing wounds; her physiology cannot regenerate physical mass from nothing. Small periods of sleep are also needed ocassionally in order to sustain her mental health. Kara can hold her breath for an extensive period of time, allowing her to travel underwater and through the depths of space with great ease.
- Invulnerability: The same energy field that grants a Kryptonian their strength also renders Kara's body and clothing almost invulnerable to external damage. Additionally, her immune system is supercharged by absorbed solar energy; protecting her from toxins and diseases. Kara's invulnerability lasts until her internal store of solar energy is depleted – either after absorbing extreme amounts of damage, or through disruption by kryptonite, red sun radiation or magicial energies.
- Accelerated Healing: The energy field suffusing their body supercharges a Kryptonian's cellular make-up, allowing their bodies to regenerate wounds at an extremely rapid pace. Kara's body also experiences an almost non-existant rate of cell death under normal circumstances; so long as she is continually exposed to yellow sun radiation she will likely never succumb to death from old age.
- Superhuman Speed: Kara is capable of extremely fast reflex action and has the ability to accelerate and move at incredible velocities. It is debatable whether or not she is potentially as fast as a speedster like the Flash, but Kara can still easily pass the lightspeed barrier while inside a vacuum and thus could be considered one of the fastest beings alive. Generally, Kara will not surpass a speed of Mach 10 (about 7,600 mph) when inside a planetary environment; this is because she doesn't want to cause unwarranted damage to her surroundings through extreme friction with the atmosphere.
- Superhuman Senses: Like any Kryptonian, Kara possesses the ability to easily view at the microscopic level, see at extreme distances impeded only by the curvature of the Earth, and selectively perceive the entire electromagnetic spectrum including radio waves and heat. Kryptonian's are also able to see through solid objects, impeded only by extremely dense materials such as lead. Their hearing is incredible and allows them to perceive sound at practically any volume or pitch. With practice, a Kryptonian can develop the ability to block out ambient sounds and focus on a specific source.
- Heat Vision: Kara can project beams of thermal energy from her eyes like any other Kryptonian. They can be invisible and the intensity as well as the area of affect of these beams can be manipulated. Kara's thermal beams can be weak and microscopic or they can extend to her entire field of view and approach the heat level of a nuclear detonation.
- Super Breath: A Kryptonian can exhale winds with force up to that of a hurricane, as well as lower the temperature of their exhaled air so that it reaches artic levels and rapidly freezes ambient moisture with which it comes into contact.
- Reactionless Flight: Kara is capable of flying as speeds surpassing the lightspeed barrier – allowing her to traverse the depths of space between different world's without any vehicular aid. Within an atmosphere, she tends to fly at speeds of around Mach 10.
- Metasapience: Like the rest of their physiology, a Kryptonian's nervous system is also supercharged by yellow sun radiation. This augments Kara's already genius-level intellect with considerably greater reflexes, memory, intellegence and computational abilities when compared to those of a human. Additionally, because Kara actually grew up in Argo City on Krypton, she benefited from being educated by a civilization with a level of science and technology much greater than that of Earth. Kara excelled in mechanical engineering and also proved adept in the art of programming Kryptonian technology. Kara is proficient in the languages interlac and kryptonese, and her mental abilities proved sufficient for her to become fully fluent in all of Earth's languages in less than a month after first awakening on the planet.
BLOOD TYPE: N/A (Kryptonian physiology) ORIENTATION: Bicurious PET: Streaky. An orange and white striped tabby cat, whose name is derived from the fact that he has a lot of household "accidents" that ultimately leave streaks upon the furniture. MENTOR(S): Superman, Wonder Woman SCARS AND MARKINGS: None COLOR(S): Red, Blue and Yellow.
UNIFORM: The upper part of Kara's uniform is comprised of a blue, long-sleeved, crop-topped, form-fitting nanoweave mesh shirt with black and gold trimming at the hems and cuffs, with the crest of the House of El in red and gold emblazoned upon the center. Her lower body is clad in form-fitting pants comprised of the same material as her shirt, with red boots possessing a gold trim. Extending from her shoulders is a red cape with the crest of the House of El again emblazoned upon its center in gold fabric. Kara manufactured her uniform with Kryptonian nanotech she constructed using the Watchtowers facilities; it is quite durable, though during combat it is preserved mostly by the innate energy field which protects Kara's own body from all kinds of physical harm.
DESCRIPTION: Kara's facial features possess a natural beauty that give her the appearance of a young Earth woman of caucasian descent, with an apparent age in her late teens or perhaps early twenties. Her near perfectly shaped features are framed by a silky smooth mane of gold-colored hair that slides down as far as her shoulders. Her piercing - almost hypnotic - eyes are sapphire-like jewels that can ensnare another with their gaze. She has full, luscious lips often quirked into a faintly amused smile. A dainty, narrow nose with a smooth bridge rests near center of her face, seeming perfectly matched and aligned to the rest of her features. Her complexion is light, slightly tanned and without any discernable blemishes.
Her build is athletic and distinctly feminine, with a standing height of 5'5” and possessing a weight of around 135 lbs. Her figure is all female and athletic curves, beginning from her strong calves and leading up to her powerful thighs. She possesses a firm, heart-shaped rear and flared hips. Her narrow, toned waist gives her a devastating hourglass figure; at rest revealing just the tiniest hint of her abdominal muscles and giving her a fit, healthy appearance. She possesses a generous bust, while her arms, forearms and shoulders show clear evidence of more muscle definition.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Fears: With the destruction of Krypton and loss of her family still fresh in her mind, that which Kara fears most is losing her new home and her new-found family. This makes her fiercely protectively of Kal-El, her friends and allies in Young Justice team and the Justice League. This determination to protect also extends itself to the Earth itself and the rest of its people.
Kara also fears becoming a disappointment to her cousin. Though she originally believed she would be the one to guide Kal-El as he grew up, circumstances have conspired to reverse her expected role so that Kal-El is closer to being a mentor and parental figure. She hopes to follow in his footsteps, protecting the people of Earth, but fears failing to live up to his expectations and blackening his reputation by association with herself.
Desire: Not only does Kara desire to prove herself and secure her place on Earth, she also has a strong moral compulsion to protect others. Kara knows well the fear experienced by ordinary people when threatened by violence due to her past life on Krypton - a place where she was as powerless as a human. Now that Kara has the ability to protect herself and others, she strives to live up to her potential and the responsibility that comes with her newfound abilities.
HABITS: In trying to live up to Kal-El's reputation as Superman, Kara does her best to appear to be as fearless, strong and heroic as her cousin; hiding her fears and insecurities behind a mask of bravado.
Kara finds joy and release in the gift of flight; using it to wind down and clear her mind of her worries and troubles.
She is also often impulsive in her behavior; acting without fore-thought and rushing headlong into situations before she has a clear understand of all the relevant circumstances. This is partially due to the fact that will her vast array of abilities, she is generally able to sort out most situations quickly and easily – though at times her impetousity has resulted in making a situation worse.
PET PEEVE: Kara tends to get irritated by the minor villains and criminal henchmen that stand little-to-no chance against her - particularly individuals that she is forced to deal with due to the need to remove the threat they pose to others, even though they have no chance of hurting or defeating her themselves.
STRENGTHS:
- Hand-to-hand Combat: Kara is adept in the Kryptonian martial art called Klukor. Additionally, she has been trained in Themysciran unarmed combat and sword fighting skills by Wonder Woman and other Amazons.
- Multilingualism: Kara is fluent in many languages and is quite easily able to learn more. She knows all of Earth's languages, which she learned in less than a months time, in addition to Interlac and Kryptonese.
- Advanced Knowledge: Kara was well educated in advanced Kryptonian sciences, engineering and computer programming prior to the destruction of her homeworld.
- Artistry: Kara is skilled in a small number of Kryptonian artistic styles.
- Genius-level Intellect: Even before leaving Krypton and gaining her powers, Kara proved that she possessed a genius intellect; reprogramming advanced Kryptonian technology, like a robot, with little effort.
- Investigator: Due to her crimefighting career and scientific background, Kara has become somewhat skilled in investigation for the purposes of solving a variety of problems.
- Pilot: Kara was proficient in the use of a number of Kryptonian vehicle types before coming to Earth – including spacecraft. While on Earth vehicles have not been her preferred method of travel due to her flight and speed powers, Kara has been trained in their use as by the Justice League for situations where that skill is needed.
WEAKNESSES:
- Moral Code: Because Kara has a strong moral compulsion to protect others it is a relatively easy task for villains who are aware of this fact to manipulate Kara, by placing innocents in situations where she will feel obligated to rush to their defense. Likewise, due to her strict moral code, many of Kara's actions and behaviours would be easier to predict.
- Holding Back: Due to the comparatively fragile nature of most criminals and villains she generally has to deal with from day-to-day, Kara normally holds back a considerable portion of her power unless she is certain that it is truly required to deal with a given opponent. This is due to the fear that she might accidently cause their demise through careless action. Occasionally her hesitance has allowed Kara's more formidable opponents to outmaneuver her before she had a chance to bring her full powers to bare, in circumstances where she could have otherwise have been victorious.
- Temper: Far more easily than her cousin Kal-El, Kara tends to loose her cool and become irritated and impatient. While somewhat rare, it is also not unheard of for Kara to become enraged to the point where she virtually impossible to control. Such situations are usually precipitated by a powerful emotional trigger, such as harm befalling those she cares for most.
- Kryptonite: Kryptonian cellular physiology is highly vulnerable to the unique radiation given off by the mineral kryptonite – the remains of Kara's dead homeworld. Even when present in tiny amounts, the high-energy particles emitted by kryptonite can instantly strip Kara of all her superhuman powers, rendering her as vulnerable as an ordinary human to physical harm. Depending upon the quantity present, even merely being in proximity to Kryptonite for an extended period can prove fatal to Kara – a lethal level of radiation poisoning can occur in as little as a few hours.
- Magic: The exotic energies and strange interdimensional influences of magic can easily disrupt the protection of Kara's innate invulnerability – thus Kara is almost as vulnerable to magic as an ordinary human. Whilst not easily destroyed outright, Kara can be severely harmed by even a modest practioner of magic.
- Red Sun Radiation: The radiation of the red sun of the Krypton system and other similar M-class stars instantly causes Kryptonian's to lose all of their stored internal energy, reducing a Kryptonian to normal humanoid levels of ability.
- Solar Energy Dependency: Kara requires solar radiation to function at the height of her powers. Without routine exposure to specific solar energy, most will fade away to greatly reduced levels – whilst some powers will disappear entirely if her energy reserves are totally depleted. To be specific, Kara cannot absorb energy from the lower frequency orange O-class stars and cannot process the higher-frequency White K or blue F classes. Stars of the spectral type Blue B and yellow G type are perfect for the replenishment of her internal energy.
- Psionics: Kara has no special defense against powers that are mental in nature; mental illusions and mind control would generally be as effective upon Kara as they would be upon a normal human individual.
TRAITS:
- Intelligent: Kara possesses incredible intelligence and computational abilities, and her mind works extremely fast when compared to a normal human. Her analytical powers are also fairly impressive — Kara excels in engineering and at a young age became adept with advanced Kryptonian technology.
- Moral: Due to how she was raised on Krypton and the teachings of both Superman and Wonder Woman, Kara has a strongly developed sense of right and wrong. This moral sense compels her to help those that are in danger or in need, as well as to prevent the actions of those she views as 'evil' or a threat to the safety of others.
- Compassionate: Beyond simply having good morals, Kara is fairly compassionate by nature – she is generally unwilling to take actions which will result in the suffering of others, nor is she able to stand idly by whilst others are in pain or unduly suffering.
- Loyal: Kara has a strongly developed sense of loyalty to those she considers her friends, as well as to whose she views as under her protection. She is willing to risk life and limb to protect those to whom she is loyal.
- Valiant: Kara possesses considerable courage and determination, being willing to confront daunting and formidable foes that would even push her abilities to their limits and risk her own death.
- Confident: Due to her own innate intelligence, impressive abilities and physical endurance, Kara has a strong belief in herself. In fact, her self-confidence is so great that at times she comes across as being arrogant.
- Dedicated: Kara is strongly comitted to the cause of the Justice League. She is also equally dedicated to the goal of protecting the Earth and its inhabitants from all dangers.
- Impetuous: Kara is oftentimes impulsive in her behavior, acting without fore-thought and rushing headlong into situations before she has a clear understand of all the relevant circumstances. This is partially due to the fact that will her vast array of abilities, she is generally able to sort out most situations quickly and easily – though at times her impetousity has resulted in making a situation worse.
- Isolated: The loss of her birth family and species with the destruction of Krypton has made Kara feel considerably isolated and cut-off, though Kal-el and Diana – Superman and Wonder Woman – the Young Justice team and the Justice League have all partially helped to fill this void.

| METROPOLIS AUGUST 2, 11:05 EST |
| Kara soared, her body cutting through the incorporeal air like a knife blade. She danced gracefully to an unheard melody amongst wisps of clouds that gently crawled across the heavens, far above the towers of metal and glass that comprised the city of Metropolis. She smiled serenely, while her red cape rippled behind her in the morning breeze; it felt good to stretch her 'wings' and of all the powers that the yellow sun provided, she loved the gift of flight the most.
But Kara wasn't simply there to enjoy herself that morning; she was on patrol. The young kryptonian teen reached out with her senses and all the faint voices of the people, the cars and machines echoed up from the city below, filtering through her mind as she sought out those needing aid. Narrowing her focus as Kal-El had taught her.
The thrum of turbine engines came to her then. The groan and creak of metal. The shreak of air cutting across the fuselage of an airplane. The cries of men.
"-say again, this is LexCorp Airlines Flight 221. Engines three and four are unresponsive. Mayday, mayday. We're going down!" A panicking young pilot exclaimed into his cockpit radio, his hands frantically working controls while his co-pilot checked and rechecked the diagnostic displays.
"I say again, this is LexCorp Flight 221. Come in anybody. We need immediate assistance!" The pilot practically screamed into his headset radio.
Kara's head swivelled, her sun-kissed golden tresses wipping around instantly. Her jewel-like eyes narrowed as she sought out the source of the sounds she heard; in moments her vision centered upon a spot across the horizon, miles distant. The spot was so small as to be imperceptible to an ordinary human, but Kara's vision magnified, her sapphire eyes widening slightly as the failing airplane filled her view.
With barely a fraction of a seconds hesitation the young Kryptonian girl flew in pursuit of the plane. The air buckled with the force of the resulting thunderclap when Kara broke the sound barrier. As she flew, her vision shifted, passing through the hull and revealing the internal mechanisms of the airplanes engines; which proved damaged and she suspected, completely inoperable.
Mere seconds past before Kara was at the planes side; she flew along with the passenger jet as it continued its uncontrolled descent. Rapidly, Kara placed both her hands lightly against the surface of the aircraft, by instinct, willing the same innate energy field that lend her strength and invulernability into the structure of the plane. This would keep the plane from coming apart as she manipulated it physically. Two pale, delicate seeming hands tightened their grip, biting into the metal of the fuselage as effortlessly as a hot knife cutting through butter, warping it like wet, soft clay.
The outskirts of the city were growing steadily closer; if the plane continued its freefall it would collide sidelong into one of the many skyscrapers. With a slight gritting of teeth and a took of determination, Kara focused her efforts and began to slow the planes fall, lowering its acceleration, mindful of the fact she couldn't slow the plane too fast without compromising the safety of the individuals still inside.
More seconds past. The ground and skyscrapers grew closer and closer. Through the cockpit canopy, both pilot and co-pilot watched with growing horror as the huge metal towers grew larger. Alarmed passengers cried and screamed as the plane shook oddly in Kara's handheld grip, confused and afraid.
Eventually, Kara successfully brought the plane to a stop; just a few hundred meters away from the nearest tower. Gawkers and people peering through office windows stared in shock and awe up at the plane, held aloft by a single, blonde teenaged girl.
Releasing a soft sigh and relaxing the worried tension that had build up in her shoulders, Kara slowly began to move the plane up higher, intending to transport the malfunctioning craft and its occupants to the airport safely.
I'm not sure if I'll ever quite get used to this, Kara mused to herself silently.
