September 20th
A large sigh pushed past the young womans lips as she pulled the protective panel off of one of the computers in the Cave and set it aside and sat herself down in front of the gaping hole and surveyed the damage. Construction on the Cave was nearing completion, just a few minor things left and some homely touches to add but the security systems and other useful technology was taking longer to set up and put in place than expected and with the dorms now completed more members will be moving in to their new home shortly. Which, was why Barbara was here, she was trying to expedite the computer set up and at least get the main security online but that was easier said than done.
The construction crews while good at what they did they were not good at the tech part and their handling of the technology was appalling. It was like they just carelessly tossed the computers into place and while Barbara knew that probably wasn’t true it still seemed that way. As she pulled the panel and peered inside Barbara saw a mess of tangled wires. Wires that were not connected wires that were connected in the wrong place, wires that didn’t seem to even belong. …
This was going to take awhile
After a few hours had passed Barbara thought she had everything in its proper place. All wires were connected where they should be, all circuit boards were properly placed, all fuses were in working order. But, this was only one and there were two others that were probably in the same condition. Thank god Happy Harbor had a lot of pizza parlors around because she was sure she was going to be here all night and would need some fuel.
When she had moved on to the second system Barbara was elbow deep in circuits when she heard someone enter through the Zeta tube Hey! She called out to let them know that she was there. Could you hand me that flashlight on the table? She was trying to fix a board that was too far back for the light of the cave to reach and she needed a little extra help and if she didn’t have to leave her task she didn’t want to so hopefully whomever it was would bring what she asked.

| MOUNT JUSTICE SEPTEMBER 20, 18:37 EDT |
| "Recognized, Supergirl B-27," the monitoring computer for the zeta-tube transportation system announced upon Kara's arrival; the computer's voice was without the slightest hint of emotional inflection, nonetheless, its synthetic tones possessed a feminine quality to them. A young blonde woman of about average height stepped from the center of the radiant, swirling vortex of light that lay at the heart of the Zeta-beam tube -- just before the energy and particles of the aperture winked shut with a prolonged, crackling pop.
Kara took several steps from the zeta-tube while the machine made faint, mechanical noises as it switched into stand-by mode. A second or so passed before the kryptonian girl scanned her surroundings with her gentle, jewel-like gaze, though her inspection of the chamber was cut short when her attention focused upon a sudden shout of "Hey! Could you hand me that flashlight on the table?" coming from across the room.
The blonde girl's eyes shifted focus and narrowed upon the source of the sound. A second later, with a soft smile upon her features, Kara crossed the room to table to collect the requested flashlight. Once she had the tool in hand, Kara knelt down beside Barbara and placed it in the girls outstretched hand.
"Here you go," Kara told Barbara in a soft, melodic voice comprised of gentle, friendly tones. The kryptonian teen then took the opportunity to peek inside machine being worked upon; while Earth technology was growing increasingly familiar to Kara, it was still strange to her; anachronistic and primitive in comparison to the Kryptonian devices she grew up surrounded by. Human's still used wires and printed circuits, while Kryptonian hardware utilized crystals, molecular circuitry, quantum-data storage, broadcast power and quantum-linked pathways -- Kara suspected that all of the computer hardware she currently saw in the chamber could probably have been squeezed into a device the size of a pinhead if the Justice League had access to fabrication technology from her lost homeworld.

Here you go a young womans voice said as she handed over the flashlight and Barbara looked to see who it was that was joining her. The Zeta tube had announced the arrival but Barb was really too engrossed in what she was doing to have paid too much attention. As she looked Barbara was meet with the blonde hair, blue eyed kyrptonian cousin of Superman.
Thanks! Barbara told her, taking the flashlight and putting the thin end of it inside her mouth to hold it in place after clicking the light on. With the light shinning Barbara positioned the beam inside the back of the machine so she could see what she was doing and stuck her hands back inside. There was just two small wires left to put into place and now that she could see what she was doing it wouldn't take long to finish.
Once the wires were in place Barbara too the flashlight from her mouth, clicked it off and set it aside while leaning back slightly and resting her palms on the floor behind her and let out a sigh while looking over at the last computer that needed to be fixed what a mess. She was really just speaking out loud, something Barbara did from time to time because it helped her think. She knew she should probably say something to her new arrival but her mind was very one tracked at the moment.

Kara's attention shifted from the figure of Barbara, following the other young woman's sky-blue stare and studied for a moment the last of the computers that appeared in need of maintenance or repair. A second or so later the kryptonian teen returned her gaze to aurburn-haired girl, arching an eyebrow questioningly.
"If you would like, I could lend a hand?" the kryptonian offered. Though unsure whether or not Barbara really wanted or needed assistance, the kryptonian girl knew she would feel guilty if she did not at least make an offer of aid. Barbara was looking kind of beat and Kara had no idea how long the other girl had been at work on the machines, though she suspected it had been many hours at least. Probably without any kind of break.
"What was that human saying... 'Many hands make light work', isn't it?" Kara then added rhetorically, flashing Barbara a warm smile.
The kryptonian girl gracefully rose from her kneeling position, offering her companion a helping hand back to her feet as she said hesitantly, with a slight hint of amusement in her tone, "You look like you could do with a rest though. So how about we first grab you something to eat, then come back and finish this one off together?"
Kara's eyes gaze Barbara's resting form a once over, top to bottom, while her cupid-bow lips were parted by a cute, impish grin after she said, "You're looking a little dusty and... frazzled... I believe is the term." |

That would be wonderful, actually. Having a second set of hands and less weary eyes to help would make things go by much faster and with Kara's super strength it would make moving the large computer systems that much easier.
At the offer of the extended hand Barbara took it and pulled herself to her feet, maybe Kara was right and a break was what she needed. If nothing else she was feeling a bit hungry and walking away to regroup before attempting the last computer would probably be the best thing. That sounds great, I'm actually starving. She laughed a little and placed hand over her stomach as it seemed to growl on que. When was the last time she ate? Barbara tried to think back...it had to have been breakfast early this morning and she had been too caught up in her work to stop and think about lunch or a snack.
When Kara said she looked dusty Barbara looked down at herself and quickly patted herself off, doing her best to wipe the dust away from her jeans and shirt. Guess this is as good as it's going to get. She smiled a little sheepishly, it wouldn't be the first time she went out after a work binge, looking like she was hung over with big bags under her eyes and frazzled clothes and hair and Barbara was sure it wouldn't the the last. So....anything your hungry for because I could eat just about anything.
