September 28, 2017.
Dick Grayson ran and he didn't stop. His heart was racing, keeping up with him, as everything around him became a blur. He was fast. He had kept his breathing in steady rhythm as he had entered The Cave, and hurriedly made his way throughout the interior, searching for someone who could help him. "Who's here?" he shouted, earning no response. 'Where could they be?' He was urgent. He needed help. "Someone? Anyone?" It was hopeless. He crossed his arms over his chest, looking around. The place was slightly messy, a few things looking as though they were under construction, while others looked as though they were under destruction. Why couldn't it just be struction? He pushed the thought away, it had been a while. What had happened, he didn't know, it had been a year since he left. Was it the same mess they'd made so long ago? Primarily, he didn't care. He had priorities. Only hours earlier, Nightwing had received a message from Batman. Batman was in need of an aide, seeing as several members of the League had been captured. Nightwing simply passed it off as an attempt to get him back on the Team, but he knew it wasn't. If Batman wanted him on the Team, he would say so. He definitely wasn't one for beating around the bush, and despite not wanting to listen, Dick knew he had to. His fears were confirmed when he had tried to contact Batman later in the day, and, receiving no response, left to find help. He needed the Team for this one, even in all of his efforts to remain stubborn, this was important. Their mentors... No... Their families had been captured. And they needed to do something about it. He was torn from his thoughts when he heard a familiar sound coming from somewhere close by. Someone was playing a guitar.
He ran across the cave once more, still sweating from his journey here. He reached the source of sound, breathing heavily as tried to explain everything that had happened. "Dude..." he said quickly. "The League is in serious trouble. I need your help."

Song Geoff is playing It was nights like these that made the fledgling Blue Lantern truly love his job. Since his joining of the Team a few days ago, he had been on a mission with Miss Martian and was even given a tour of the famous Watchtower up in space. Sighing happily, the young man floated to his room and pulled out his guitar. Floating back to the kitchen, he crossed his legs and began to gently strum the guitar. It started softly at first. His fingers barely brushed against the steel strings creating barely any sound. Smiling to himself, the fledgling Blue Lantern strummed slightly harder. His smile widened as his worn guitar made what could have been called music. As he continued to strum his guitar, the random assortment of notes soon took shape. Like many things in his life, the song was about hope. It was about hope for a better tomorrow and never giving up. Geoff gave a soft chuckle as he continued to strum the first few notes of the song. Parting his lips, the young man spoke the first few lines as the tempo of the song increased ever so slightly Drank away the rest of the day,Wonder what my liver would say,Drink... That's all you can. Blackened days With their bigger gales,Blow in your parlor to discuss the day,Listen... That's all you can. Ah but don't, no don't sink the boat,That you built, you built to keep afloat.Ah no don't, no don't sink the boat,That you built...The fledgling Blue Lantern allowed his fingers to dance over his guitar. The moved with the grace and dexterity that only years of practice could give. Sucking in a breath of air, he continued on with the song, slightly grateful that he had the cave to himself Sick and tired of what to say,No one listens anyway,Sing... That's all you can. Rambling years of lousy luck,Ya miss the smell of burning turf,Dream... That's all you can. Ah but don't, no don't sink the boat,That you Built, you built to keep afloat,Ah no don't, no don't sink the boat,That you built... That you built to keep afloat. The young man took in a deep breath of air and parted his lips once more to continue the song. He didn't get to his level of skill by staying idle. Constant practice was what shaped him into the musician that he was today. Chuckling softly, he continued to strum the notes of the song but decided not to sing the rest of the lyrics. He was glad that he put the same level of dedication that he did into music into his being a Blue Lantern. He wasn't going to gain access into the League by being idle. He had to take the initiative and show his Green counterparts that he could stand among them "Dude..." a voice sounded out, piercing the veil of the music "The League is in serious trouble. I need your help" " Nightwing?" Geoff responded, forcing his fingers to stop " What do you mean? The League? What happened?"

"Batman," Nightwing said quickly. "He contacted me, needing help with a mission. He said that some members of the League had been captured. He was trying to tell me where they were, but the connection was lost, and I couldn't understand him. I hacked the lines, through our transmitters, and found the coding. I came up with this strange cryptograph that I had never seen before. I couldn't decipher it, it didn't make sense. After an hour..." Nightwing looked as though he were regretting something. "I gave up. I just figured he would come tell me, after all, he knew where I was, and I didn't know where he was. I eventually managed to fix the connection, but I still couldn't contact him. It was as though his transmitter had never existed."
Nightwing began to pace back in forth in front of Blue Lantern as he continued to explain.
"I couldn't trace it either." He sighed, looking around the room. They were in the kitchen, which looked fairly normal in comparison to how he had last seen it. He assumed no one else was home, simply because he hadn't seen anyone when he'd searched the cave prior to his current conversation with Blue Lantern.
"I think they've got Batman too. We're gonna have to go looking for them, so get ready. Something's wrong. We can't take this alone, so find whoever you can and suit up, we need to leave within the hour. Got it?"

"I think they've got Batman too. We're gonna have to go looking for them, so get ready" Nightwing spoke hurriedly "Something's wrong. We can't take this alone, so find whoever you can and suit up, we need to leave within the hour. Got it?"
"Don't bother" Geoff said solemnly, setting his guitar back in it's case "I'm the only one here. Miss Martian, Batgirl and the others are gone"
Standing up, the fledgling Blue Lantern sighed softly. He looked down back at his guitar case before shaking his head and snapping it shut. One never really had a day off in the life of a hero. He could be called at any moment and now was as good a time to get used to it. Turning away from his case and back towards Nightwing, the young man brought his right hand up and willed a bit out power into his power ring. Within seconds, the ring began to glow a bright blue and before he knew it, he was once again clothed in his Blue Lantern uniform. He gave the former team leader a nod of the head before floating towards the main foyer of the cave.
"So what's the plan boss?" Geoff asked as he set down in front of the zeta tubes "Should we try and contact the others or run it with just the two of us until we have more information?"

"I say our best bet is to check things out first. We'll start in Gotham." They journeyed to Gotham City, where the two stepped out of the back alley phone booth. Nightwing wasn't sure what they were going to do there. They had so many places to look, it seemed nearly impossible to find the League.
Aside from texting a few members of the Team, there wasn't much he could do to get in touch with them either. They weren't responding. Nightwing looked at Blue Lantern. "Looks like it's just us." The two began searching around the city as fast as they could. What they were looking for, they didn't know. The League was out there somewhere, and you don't just take people like them, not without leaving some sign of struggle.
The duo entered a main part of the city, passing many alleys and buildings. "Maybe they could-" Nightwing stopped short, pausing, before putting a finger to his lips. He took a few steps forward, glancing into the next alleyway.
Through the shadows, he could hardly see an old woman crying out for help as she held onto her purse for dear life. Someone was trying to take it from her. "I'll be right back," Nightwing barely managed to say, before sprinting toward the woman in trouble.
"Let it go," he told the woman upon arrival, watching as she released her handbag. As soon as she did, the man attempting to steal from her took off, heading in the opposite direction.
"Not so fast." Leaping into the air, Nightwing swung himself forward, landing on the man's back, knocking him to the ground, before sitting on the man, holding him still. He took a pair of handcuffs from his utility belt, locking them onto the felon's minuscule wrists, just before calling the police. Easy.
Nightwing then made his way over to the woman, who was now standing with Blue Lantern at the end of the alley. "Thank you so much," the woman said, as Dick gave her the purse. "I was so worried about it." "No problem." Nightwing nodded in the direction of the woman as she turned away, heading across the street.
He watched as she made it safely to the other side, only to see her... Transform into someone else? Nightwing stared at the gentleman, who had been a woman only moments ago, in disbelief. He then turned around to see that the "woman's" attacker was now missing from the crime scene. 'What the...'
Nightwing spun around, giving a 360 scan of the area. Something was going on. This something, though unlikely, could lead them to the Justice League. They needed any opportunity they could get.
"Go after her!" Nightwing said, taking initiative. "I'll get the other guy." He took off running once again, making his way down the alley as fast as he could, before leaping onto the fence at the end, just in time to receive a text. Kaldur. Perfect.

Earlier…. Washington DC ότι καταλήγει ο πρέσβης συνάντηση Kaldur concluded as the Atlantean ambassador clasped the hand of the leader of the delegation and they both smiled some nearby cameras flashing to document the event. Once it was done they began to break up into smaller groups and began some after meeting banter as Kaldur politely excused himself. He made his way outside and loosened his tie as he let the stresses and complications of the day wash away like the tides. He then made his way through the Us Capitol as he eventually found himself sitting on a stone step looking out into the reflecting pool indeed doing just that. It had been a year since the Apokaliptan incursion on Earth and things seemed to be healing nicely both for earth and for the Team, however despite the nicer glossier surface there were still scars beneath. Kaldur could feel it. However it was just a feeling for now, after all on paper the team seemed stronger than ever with new members filling out the ranks as well. However with their progress with the Light having been stalled, he couldn’t help feeling that they had taken several steps forward just to take the same steps back. This war of attrition was taking it’s toll However Kaldurs thoughts were interrupted as he felt his phone buzz and he took a look at who was contacting him. Case in point…. Dick had taken Wally’s death particularly hard, and had fallen to the wayside and though Kaldur had tried to reach out to his friend, they had not spoken in several months,a fact that brought a fresh pang of guilt in his mind, however he continued to read the text and saw that there was trouble afoot, enough it seemed to bring his friend out of whatever cave he was calling home these days. Kaldur texted back simply
On my way, send coordinates.
Now Gotham
Being in “the life” made short notice a normal occurrence so Kaldur had changed out of his work attire and into gear in record time before hopping a zeta beam from the Watchtower to Gotham and was speedily making his way toward the coordinates given to him. As he closed in and was abotu to head down a nearby alleyway, he saw a someone running down it, with Nightwing in pursuit. Seeing this he quickly stepped back and flattened himself along the wall and began a silent count in his head. As the count ended he then turned back and extended out his fist catching the fleeing man square in the jaw sending the fleeing person reeling back. Kaldur then followed up with a swift push kick sending the fleeing man back towards Nightwing. Stepping out Kaldur nodded to Dick before saying “ Either criminals are getting slipperier or your street crime skills have grown rusty my friend.”

"Go after her!" Nightwing commanded
Those three words were all it took to send him into action. With a curt nod, the fledgling Blue Lantern activated his power ring and took off into the night in a bright blue glow. Flying south, he raced after what was supposed to be a woman. Geoff felt his face flush ever so slightly as he increased his speed. Gotham had always fascinated him and it was all to easy to lose himself in the city. That very thing happened the second Nightwing mummered something about being right back. It wasn't until the woman stood next to him and Nightwing came back that he realized something was amiss. Cursing himself for his inattentiveness, the fledgling Blue Lantern increased his speed once more in order to catch the fleeing man or woman. Seconds ticked off into minutes before he was rewarded with the sight of someone or something running down the alley of a disused movie theater. Geoff had to suppress the chuckle that wanted to burst forth. The thing was still wearing a dress and it took every bit of concentration to not laugh aloud and give away his position
"Nightwing" Geoff whispered into his comlink "I've found our cross dresser. Sh...he...whatever it is is going into an abandoned movie theater. Sending my GPS now"
Reducing his speed as quietly as he could, the fledgling Blue Lantern landed on the roof above. He peered over the edge and like he reported to the former Team leader, their suspect entered the movie theater. Geoff gave another curse as the shadows obstructed their perpetrator's face. Shaking his head, he brought his right hand up and with a bit of power willed from his ring, dimmed the blue glow to almost nothing. He then willed a bit more power from his only weapon and turned the once deep blue panels of his uniform to a dark midnight blue that matched the night sky overhead
"Should I wait for backup or go ahead and take it down?" Geoff whispered once more "I have the drop"

Nightwing chuckled, getting a grip on their new captive. It had been so long since he had heard the sound of Kaldur's voice. He had genuinely missed his friend. He had also missed his team, but he had no choice but to do what he had always done. He had no choice but to push those thoughts away, and keep moving forward. It was time to stay focused on the mission.
"My skills are not rusty. The mission is abou-" he was interrupted by the sound of his com-link, Blue Lantern speaking on the other side. "Should I wait for backup or go ahead and take it down? I have the drop." Nightwing thinned his lips, thinking for a moment, before pressing a button on his com-link. "Wait for us. Aqualad is with me now, and we're on our way. Keep your eye on her, if you can. If she leaves, let us know, and follow her. Stay hidden. We'll be right there." He released the button and looked at Aqualad. "I guess it's time to go." He headed in the direction of the movie theater, his captive in tow. Upon arrival, he immediately noticed how run-down this part of the town was. The theater, though big, held plenty of evidence that it hadn't been used in a long time. It was an old, brick building, now partially covered by vines. He wasn't sure how long it would hold up, it had probably been there for a hundred years. "This is the place," he said to his comrade, before once again hitting the button on his communication device. "Lantern, we're here. We have a captive. We're nearing the left side of the building. Where are you?"

As they continued to move forward to meet whoever else was involved in this Kaldur reflected on the fact that it seemed that old habits did indeed die hard. Nightwing in his absence had picked up an old one again, namely the unfortunate habit of continuing on as if everyone was on the same page as he was. His text had been rather vague and Kaldur only had some idea that whatever it was urgent. however other than that he had no idea as to what they were walking into. He would have adressed it had it been anyone else, but he and Nightiwng went back a long way and so he was willing to table his objections and focus on the task at hand at least for now as he took a moment to tune his comm to the Team frequency
As they neared the building and Nightwing slowed Kaldur heard him announce it to the other person, a blue lantern it seemed. Kaldur had been vaguely familiar with one joining but he had not met him in person. However as they neared the building awaited the arrival of their third from his perch Kaldur turned to Nightwing and said " Perhaps now would be a the time for a quick debrief before before we walk in blindly." hoping to gin something vital: context and more importantly what had been so urgent that he had broken his radio silence.
