The same old stuff.. (Open Thread)

Jinx had been out on the grounds the sun against her pink hair and pale complexion gave her a gaunt, almost ethereal look as walked soaking in not only the sun but the energies beneath her feet; feeling the life and pulse of the earth with its energies surging. It was actually a soothing salve to feel that pulse, like a soft thump of a beating heart. It was a rejuvenating sensation to feel the earth at her feet.

There was loud music blaring and shenanigans to be had upon her entry into their home but Jinx as usual seemed unaware and unaffected as she walked the halls with open book; a large and gnarled leather bound thing that looked as old as time. The vellum of the pages seemed heavy and coloured with age; not the usual pages the way it flapped when turned seemed to move differently seeming less papery. There were whispers it was some kind of hide or skin but Jinx didn't care either way, she wasn't overly concerned with the medium so much as the message within nor did she care what others thought of the creepy nature of her or the book. It acted as a deterrent most times preventing people from approaching her, after all who would want to talk to the 'Creepy Dark Girl' with the Grimoire made apparently of some dead thing's hide? Oh if they only knew what it was really made out of, but it was neither here nor there now.

There were animals and bodies of people milling about though she passed by the kitchen area and grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl without word, without incident or without care navigating around the obstacles or bodies in the way even as her eyes and nose remained down at the open book. Every once in awhile her finger or free hand would move as if to brush the air away and things would part from her path. She found herself a spot by the bay window of the common area and sat bathed in the sunlight there; her leather jacket and dark clothing soaking up the sun and heating her body as her bare feet dangled to touch the cool hardwood as she continued to read and flip the pages.

More people entered and the volume increased with audible chit chat, laughter and music. None of it though did Jinx pay it any mind as she just tuned them all out when she wanted to. Someone came in, and shouted over the blaring sound of music to turn the volume down.

"Do you think you could turn that down a bit!?" the voice screamed over the blaring music. The young magic wielder looked up briefly to notice the newest Champion looking rather dower and annoyed. She heard of him; who didn't? She also knew it was bad news to taunt that dragon.

"I would listen to him if I were you." Jinx had cautioned the one with the music blaring but like any of them ever listened to her. The imbecile decided to poke the dragon and turned the volume up louder.

"Your funeral." she muttered softly and looked back down at her Grimoire as she muttered a few soft barely audible words in an ancient tongue and for a moment there was a soft glow of purple around her though it looked like it might have been a simple play of the sunlight.

The music blarer in the back just chuckled and cranked the music a little louder and that was it. The sound of a blasted stereo sounded, exploding from heat vision, blowing it up and launching various parts around the room. Some of the exploding parts flew in the fledgling dark sorcerer's direction but they dissipated before striking her in soft purplish sparks, some even ricocheted off the created field. She had a feeling something like this was gonna happen so she had prepared. That way she wouldn't be disrupted from her reading and forced to get up. Thus the diminutive magic wielder remained seated at the bay window eyes and nose still down at her book seemingly not distracted from her reading.

Then things ramped up to another level when Siren entered the fray. She was one of the more senior members in the group. Jinx was closer to the new, though not as new as the latest reigning Champion in the arena though Jinx wondered if pitted against him who would win? Might or Magic? Either way even if he was the biggest, baddest and strongest among them Jinx doubted he had ever met up with anyone the likes of Siren.

“What do you think you are doing?” she asked the Champion as she made her way in front the taller male to keep him from leaving the scene. “You are required to play nice just like anyone else here...You are new, but you are not an exception to the rules set in place. Apologize,” Siren commanded.

At this moment things teetered on the precipice of action, and one could cut the tension with a knife...or the crunch of an apple. Her book closed with a sudden and resounding thud as she looked up at the others and slid off the bay window's seat crunchy apple in hand.

"Beauty in a guise. Death, torn apart. Pride and Intolerance. Rigorously kept to one's own world but pulled out none the same. A frozen heart needs to be thawed." Jinx said rather enigmatically and what she was talking about really was anyone's guess; she wasn't always so straight forward with her words. Though it seemed she probably was being a bit more cryptic than usual. Jinx sighed then turned her pale indifferent eyes at Siren momentarily before moving to address Match first.

"I'd listen to her." she advised him on Siren's request, not that she expected him to listen. She turned to Siren next.

"But know that 'He' chose to taunt the dragon by ignoring his request to turn it down and increasing the volume instead. It was a deliberate act on his part making what came to him both expected and deserved." a pale finger pointed at the raging boy held at bay by Siren's magic then at Match who apparently was who Jinx referred to as a dragon and well he stomped and raged like one so if the shoe fit...

She wasn't defending anyone, noone needed defending and well Jinx wasn't the defending type but she valued objectivity and sought to give the other woman the full view of the circumstances.

"Provocation always has its consequences." she said to the two males though it was unclear if she was talking now about the events earlier or if it was a warning should a fight incur.
