“I’ll have you know, M’Gann… the ‘Robin’ look is plenty scary” Tim joked causing the young Martian to chuckle.
"Yes of course. Whatever was I thinking?" M'gann chuckled playfully. "Retcon that Sebastian..." M'gann appeased. "Robin is very...*Very* scary and intimidating." she chuckled.
Then she joked about everyone dressing up as Team Robin and texting Dick which elicited a curious response from Tim, M'gann looking over at him when he told her not to bother wasting time texting Dick.
“I wouldn’t waste time with texting Dick”.
She could sense the touchiness of the subject ? was that the right way to phrase what she sensed? M'gann wasn't sure but she felt a bit bad for having brought up Dick without thinking about the sensitive nature of said topic considering all things. Dick hadn't really been keeping in contact with anyone from the old Team though it never stopped the young Martian from sending him ridiculous texts anyways or just random ones hoping one day he'd reply back or in the very least get a chuckle or a smile at the silly things she'd text, like a Selfie with her eating churros and chimichangas for the first time with the caption #MissingOutOnAllTheFun, #Ballinwithchurros&chimichangas. Sure Dick never replied back but M'gann hoped that at least he knew that people were still thinking about him and that if he ever wanted he could always come back 'home' to the Team. It was his choice to leave and strike out on his own but she also understood the human condition and there were some days it just wasn't fun being alone or feeling like you had no one to fall back on.
"I know he probably won't answer back." M'gann smiled at Tim. "He hasn't so far, but I just like reminding him that he still has friends around if he ever needs them. Plus the need to spread the gospel word on the amazing-ness of churros and chimichangas need to be told to him otherwise I fear that boy would miss out. " M'gann said with a smile.
"A holiday for topic changes? No wonder you enjoy it so much." Seven had said to M'gann causing the young Martian to smile knowingly and chuckle at his comment having picked up on his subtle inside joke.
"Yeah, maybe that's why." M'gann replied glancing over at the clone briefly before taking one last sip of the drink Seven had gotten her earlier. She watched as he seemed to have done the same and then proceeded to toss the empty cup into the trash can that was sitting about eight feet away without seeming to have looked at it. M'gann smirked in a playfully competitive way and with her now empty drink cup, did a mock basketball like three point shot that also made the bin albeit it wasn't as perfect as Seven's shot having bounced around the edge a bit but it still made it in. She shot a winning smile over at the clone before turning to ask what everyone was dressing up as this year.
“I would like to go as Batman”. Tim said M'gann was glad that this topic change worked out as he sounded much happier putting forth his ideas of being Batman which was very entertaining especially Tim's version of the Bats
"...I want to find the worst Batman costume possible, or even make the worst costume. I’ve got a few ideas already, like, I turned a cardboard box into a cowl the other day I’m sure everyone will get a kick out of it I’m even working on an impression for it”.
M'gann burst out laughing at the notion and knew that Tim would do an amazing job of it no doubt, but she couldn't help but wonder if the Bats would be amused by it. Hell M'gann was amused by it now as she couldn't stop giggling at the images in her head of Tim's Batman costume. Then Cassie chimed in causing M'gann to giggle even more.
"Oh lord, you're gonna be 30 before you ever get to drive the Bat-mobile after this" Cassie replied as she giggled a bit more.
"Or maybe be relegated to being Alfred's assistant instead." M'gann snickered.
"So it is normal to dress up as other people? Considering the odd looks I get when I mimic, this could be a tricky prospect. Perhaps I could ask you all for suggestions on suitable costumes for me? I would appreciate the input. Perhaps vampire would be a good place to start?" Seven had asked to which Cassie chimed in.
"Vampires are always a popular choice" Cassie said in response to Seven's idea of being a vampire for Halloween.
"Yup and the cool thing about it is you can be creative about the Vampire costume and step away from the cape and tux variety. Like being a Vampire from the civil war, kinda like Jasper from Twilight he was a lieutenant in the civil war who was turned by this Southern Vampire woman because she needed to have a 'General' lead her army. She was of a coven that was trying to take over and control the South...and I didn't it again didn't I." M'gann sprouted a sheepish grin as she got carried away again. "But uhm yeah Sebastian you don't have to limit yourself to the usual Vampire cape and tux variety is all I'm saying...uhm..yeah..."
"This mall is suppose to have one of the BEST Halloween stores in the country, so we shouldn't have too hard of a time finding awesome costumes" Cassie added with a huge smile.
"It totally does!" M'gann beamed. "So any ideas what you wanna go as Cass?"

Oh, Tim did enjoy the kick the caffeine provides. But he typically reserved that beverage for those late nights in the cave when he has to take on the role of being ‘support’. Yes, it was best kept for when he’s sat in front of the many computer screens that glared with light, sipping coffee down to keep him awake just about long enough that he was alert for any incoming transmission. Energy drinks used to do it, but as the more lengthy nights became more of a routine thing, it had become clear that coffee was the appropriate answer.
”Thanks”. Tim would say as he reached to take the cup of coffee from Sebastian. There was no sense in wasting it, so, why not? Tim took an initial sip of the piping hot beverage, and it was just that; piping hot. Too hot in fact, but rather than wince or moan. Tim would keep to his usual calm and reserved self, after all. Suppressing the burn of a hot beverage is what all his training had been leading up to. Tim would simply hold it now, waiting and hoping it would cool down just that little bit more. It was often that he forgot he had a beverage, which is why most of the time when he did have coffee that it was always cold.
Tim didn’t utter a word as the girls offered their insight in how Bruce may respond to Tim dressing up in a terrible Batman costume. Tim honestly believed that it may go down well, that Bruce would ignore the fact that Tim was jesting at his expense. And instead be glad to see that Tim had put thought, creation and invention into his costume. He could only hope.
”You know a disturbing amount of knowledge on the subject of Twilight”. Needless to say, Tim wasn’t a fan. But the reasoning for that is better left for another time. ”Why not a Zombie? Those are sort of ‘in’ right now”. Tim added. Zombies had seen a surge in popularity as of late, so it seemed a good idea. Perhaps Sebastian would enjoy going to a party as himself, but a dead iteration of himself.

Listening to the others gave some things for the clone to ponder over, humour it seemed was to be worked on. The vampire thing had been another joke he thought M'gann would have got but saying dressing up as a Salvador was to obvious.
So he could become anyone for an evening, not only was it accepted but it was encouraged. Who would he want to be though?
Fictional people meant nothing to him. All the popular tv shows were just that, fictional people that conveyed a story to the populace, he didn't attach any real emotion to them. So it seemed odd to want to pretend to be one of them.
"So I can be anyone?" The clone said thoughtfully, an idea was forming now. One that he thought was an interesting use of his ability to mimic sound and body language. "That has potential I think. I was thinking I could pretend to be a gender swapped heroine. A tribute if it was allowed. Make a female into male version." The idea was picking up steam, not only was it gathering speed it was gathering shape. Speech patterns were being altered, deepened and shifted from female to male. Body language was also being changed, a new profile was being built beside a previously existing one.
From his point of view this was a great idea, after all there wasn't really many people who could be said to have such a huge impact on him except her. "I am thinking of dressing up as a Mr Martian, if that would be accepted?" You could never really tell how people would react to things about themselves. Some people were accepting about being asked things considered personal but others took offence and wanted nothing more than to avoid the subject. Seven could see M'gann loving the idea, flattered perhaps that someone would want to dress up as her but then again perhaps she would dislike the idea as it was a little strange and personal.
Though Seven wasn't sure where he would locate the things he needed to create such a disguise but then that was the whole point of this trip, to get costumes and disguises. He would need something to make his skin green, hair would need coloured which seemed like a lot of work for something so trivial but at the same time, the idea of pretending to be someone he admired was rather appealing. Seven hoped that M'gann would understand that he was doing this because of that and not some other random intent.

Cassie listened to the exchange of the others then perked up when she heard her name called by M'Gann.
"So any ideas what you wanna go as Cass?"
Cassie gave a smirk before she replied. "Well if Tim's going to go as Batman, perhaps I should go as Catwoman to keep him on his toes" Though no one knew the true story, there had always been side talk of the way Catwoman had a way to break through the Rock Hard Façade that is the Batman.
Cassie's attention quickly turned as she saw Tim take the cup of coffee from Sebastian, she was right, she really did learn something new today.
The subject quickly turned to one of Vampires and Zombies, Cassie just stood listening. Both were good, choices and very popular for Halloween, with all the movies and tv shows that were currently circulating either would been a suitable choice indeed.
"So I can be anyone? That has potential I think. I was thinking I could pretend to be a gender swapped heroine. A tribute if it was allowed. Make a female into male version." "I am thinking of dressing up as a Mr. Martian, if that would be accepted?"
Cassie couldn't help but be a little intrigued by Sebastian's question and suggestion. She arched her eyebrow when he suggested being a male version of M'gann. "There's already one of those, her uncle, Martian Manhunter" She quickly interjected so that it would hopefully make things a little less awkward and M'gann wouldn't have to answer the question if she didn't want to.
"Anyway, I thought we came here to Shop, not just stand around talking about shopping!" Cassie added with a smile. "Come on guys, the costume shop is just down there at the end of the corridor" she advised them as she pointed down the hall.

”You know a disturbing amount of knowledge on the subject of Twilight”. Tim had said causing M'gann to chuckle at his reaction. She could tell he wasn't a Twilight fan, then again she wasn't sure many guys were. But it was great teen fiction in M'gann's eyes even if she was totally for Team Jacob. Werewolves all the way! Cause really, Vampires shouldn't glitter or sparkle.
"I've read the books, can't say I'm really an Edward fan... Team Jacob all the way! Plus the ending was anticlimactic but really the story of Jasper and the civil war part was my fave in the book. Plus I think having read Anne Rice's books first tainted me cause well Vampires really shouldn't sparkle." M'gann replied. "But I still read the books and liked it for other reasons."
Then conversations moved to ideas for costumes which caused M'gann to ask Cassie what she was going to be going as this year for Halloween.
M'gann sniggered at the suggestion of Catwoman, not that Cassie as Catwoman was funny because that part M'gann knew with Cassie's looks and figure she could nail it down pat, but it was more the keeping Tim on his toes that was funny to the young Martian. She was fairly certain Cassie could do that regardless of costume. "That would work. And you'd make an amazing Catwoman...do you know how to use a whip? I hear she's really good with that weapon."
Then more talk of costumes and ideas surfaced by way of Seven and his thoughts on what to go as for Halloween.
"So I can be anyone? That has potential I think. I was thinking I could pretend to be a gender swapped heroine. A tribute if it was allowed. Make a female into male version." "I am thinking of dressing up as a Mr. Martian, if that would be accepted?"
All M'gann could do was stare at Seven at his mention of gender swapping. Where did he learn that from? She was pretty sure they hadn't covered that yet, then again if he was on her computer as he was known to do he might have stumbled upon some of her Manga and Marvel comics tumblr sites as some had gender swapping art and such or maybe someone else taught him that. Either way, it wasn't the gender swapping part that had her staring (though it was still a curiosity to knew where that came from), but rather it was that he wanted to emulate her. No one ever wanted to be her. Miss Martian wasn't what most wanted to be, most wanted to be Superboy or Wonder Girl, or Robin or Batgirl...no one ever wanted to be the green skinned alien girl let alone a guy wanting to be her. Really M'gann was just shocked and didn't really know what to say and for the first time in a long time, the alien with the penchant to go on and on, on tangents actually had absolutely nothing to say; stumped into gaping silence.
Thankfully Cassie spoke up for the both of them, causing M'gann to blink back into the present and stop her mind from going a million miles a second. "There's already one of those, her uncle, Martian Manhunter" Cassie quickly interjected , M'gann casting her friend and appreciative smile for the save. Seven really did throw her for a loop there.
"Yes." M'gann giggled finally getting her feet back on ground (figuratively) "My uncle I suppose is the male version of me or since he's older and around longer would I be a female version of him? ..." M'gann pondered that just as Cassie continued.
"Anyway, I thought we came here to Shop, not just stand around talking about shopping!" Cassie added with a smile.
M'gann chuckled at getting all caught up again and nodded at Cassie's comment. "Yeah we should totally head out now."
"Come on guys, the costume shop is just down there at the end of the corridor" she advised them as she pointed down the hall.
"Let'sgo." M'gann nodded with a smile as she followed Cassie and looked back over at Tim and Seven to see if they were following.
::Thanks, back there.:: she said to Cassie about her earlier save of the Martian. It was nice to know that even when not on mission, her teammate still had her back. It wasn't that she disliked the idea Seven put up, but it just caught M'gann totally off guard. She totally did not see that coming.

Cassie dressing up as Catwoman? That’s… really interesting… something Tim will ponder for a while. Tim was one of those who felt there was a ‘thing’ between the Cat and the Bat. Tim had of course encountered Catwoman himself, once or twice whilst out at night in Gotham with Batman. You could tell there was something there, with how the talk went down. But Tim had witnessed nothing more than talk. Regardless, it was a good shout for Cassie’s costume. Tim didn’t say anything though, instead he continued to sip away at the warm beverage that Sebastian had gifted him. It was the exact thing Tim needed to wake himself up after a late night.
“I’m pretty sure that you’re the female version of Martian Manhunter”. Tim would start off by saying. “After all, we don’t exactly call Batman the male version of Batgirl, right?”. Though Tim would be sure to see how well this goes down in the Batcave. Tim would raise his hand slightly, rubbing the back of his neck as he went on to speak. “Though, you know… I think we should start saying; ‘Nightwing is the less awesome version of Robin’”. Tim would add, a grin appearing upon his face. “Feel like that’s something that could really catch on, because it has that air of truth about it”. Tim brought his hand back down, and would throw away the now empty cup of coffee into a nearby bin. His aiming was on point, falling into the bin without a hitch. From there, Tim tucked both hands into the pockets of his hoodie. It was something of a mystery what Tim kept in the pockets, as one has to remember that he is always prepared for things to go wrong.
It appeared that it was time to get things underway, as the group would head towards the costume shop. Tim was the type to be behind everyone else, walking slower. ”How is J’onn anyway? …haven’t really spoken to any Leaguers lately”. Tim would say, making conversation for their trek to the costume shop. Tim was one of the younger members of the Team who spoke with the higher ups more than most his age. Tim had gained a good rapport with the members of the Justice League. It was perhaps down to the reserved, confident and professional way in which Tim conducted himself around them. He appeared to be like a mini-Batman at times.

Seven listened to the various replies, pondering each input to his query but the thing that put the idea to rest was the stunned silence that had come from M'gann. Martian Manhunter was not her, she was not him. To say they were the same to Seven was like trying to convince someone that chalk and cheese tasted the same.
"Hmm I see. Then I shall find a more suitable solution and costume." Seven said thoughtfully as they walked along. Seven could sound like anyone, act like anyone and it seemed that more though thought was needed for picking a costume. It seemed that picking something that meant something to him was not as good as picking something that meant more to others. Perhaps that made the costume something that others would identify more than what he would.
Which meant that all he had to was see what resonated with the group more than anything else. Though there was something else that he was picking up from the body language being given off by Tim and Cassie. The little signs and shifts that were clear signs of attraction were becoming stronger when different costumes were mentioned. The way Tim reacted to the mention of Cassie dressing in a specific costume was clear as day to Seven.
His attention shifted between the two of them a couple of times before he spoke "Are you two a couple?" Most likely not the best question to ask two people he had just met but to Seven it seemed as good a question as anything else. It was clear there was something, Seven wasn't able to tell if they were just keeping distance out of politeness which was something Seven wouldn't want them to have to do. Otherwise it meant perhaps that they did not know the other was attracted to them and that was again something that needed corrected. After everything Miss Martian had shown him, Seven had got the clear message that if people liked each other they should be together. He looked between Tim and Cassie and added "If you are, I do not mind if you express it. Hand holding and the like. There is no need to hide such things from us." He looked to M'gann to see if she agreed, or at least to check to see if he had made a social error.

Cassie listened to the rest of the conversation When M'gann asked her about the her whip skills. "Well I'm sure I could pick it up fairly quickly, I mean I've started to get the whole lasso thing down pretty well" she said with a smirk.
After a few small exchanges in conversation the others were having, they started to make their way to the costume store. Cassie could feel that she was starting to get quite excited about the prospect.
::Not a problem, not that it was a bad idea mind you, just a little off the wall and I figured I would be a buffer for you:: She replied to M'gann through her thoughts knowing that M'gann most likely had the link still up after she had said thanks telepathically.
Cassie was taken off guard when Sebastian asked if she and Tim were a couple, then went further saying that he didn't mind if they held hands. " We are.... ummmm well.... ummmm " She paused looking at Tim [/b]"A little help here?[/b] she said as her eyes grew wider as she didn't really know how to answer the question that had been asked. It was true that they had been spending a lot of time together as of late, going on dates and such, but nothing had ever formally been spoken out loud about their status.

“Though, you know… I think we should start saying; ‘Nightwing is the less awesome version of Robin’”. Tim said, a grin appearing upon his face. “Feel like that’s something that could really catch on, because it has that air of truth about it”.
"Of course." M'gann chuckled, making the hash tag symbol with her fingers like in those funny Jimmy Fallon skits with Justin Timberlake just as she said, "Hashtag TeamRobin4TW!"
M'gann then watched as Tim brought his hand back down, and throw away the now empty cup of coffee into a nearby bin. His aim was on point, falling into the bin without a hitch causing M'gann to comment. "Nice shot."
From there, she watched as Tim tucked both hands into the pockets of his hoodie, M'gann smiling at the action and knowing that most likely like his mentor nothing the boy did was ever for no reason and M'gann would bet there'd be something handy in those pockets if ever some need arose and danger reared its head. Part of M'gann was tempted to peak and see through the fabric into the pockets but she refrained from using her Martian vision. Plus her eyes would glow and just give her away. In the end what he actually had wasn't as important as the fact that Tim was always the prepared one. So M'gann had faith.
Then Seven talked about perhaps picking a different costume. "Hmm I see. Then I shall find a more suitable solution and costume." Seven said thoughtfully as they walked along.
"There will be plenty of ideas and costumes to choose from when we get there." M'gann offered. "Just pick one that resonates to you."
Telepathically M'gann had thanked Cassie for the backup appreciating her teammate's quick thinking in getting her out of an otherwise awkward situation. Seven's initial selection was rather unexpected. Not that she hated the idea or anything, it was just surprising that of everything he could be, he'd want to emulate her.
::Not a problem, not that it was a bad idea mind you, just a little off the wall and I figured I would be a buffer for you:: Cassie said.
::Yeah, much appreciated. Thanks:: the Martian girl smiled at her teammate.
As the group would head towards the costume shop M'gann noticed Tim taking his usual position slightly behind them. It struck M'gann earlier on in meeting the teen back then that Tim was the type to be behind everyone else, walking slower and the young Martian often wondered if he did that so that he could watch them all; pick up subtle cues from them and maybe even just have a general sense and look out as they walked.
”How is J’onn anyway? …haven’t really spoken to any Leaguers lately”. Tim said pulling M'gann out of her musing.
"Oh Uncle J'onn is good. He's...away on 'business' again though." M'gann filled Tim in; by business she meant League business. The League was always busy with one threat or another and while she tried to see her uncle as much as she could and train with him, M'gann found that she did not have as much time as she wanted to just hang out with her uncle as a family. She wondered if it was like that with Tim though she figured the boy probably saw Batman more than she did her uncle.
"How's Bruce?" M'gann asked. "Has he taken you to any cool parties lately? Think you can get us in one of those fancy ones he's known to throw?"
M'gann had heard about and sometimes read about Bruce Wayne's amazingly lavish parties and charity events. The idea of a Great Gatsby style party with opulence and grandeur was enough to set the young Martian in a tail spin of possibilities of what to wear, who she'd see and meet. Then Seven spoke putting an absolute halt in her daydream of Wayne parties.
"Are you two a couple?" Seven had asked rather innocently as he looked between Tim and Cassie and added "If you are, I do not mind if you express it. Hand holding and the like. There is no need to hide such things from us." He looked to M'gann to see if she agreed, or at least to check to see if he had made a social error.
M'gann looked to Seven a bit of shock in her eyes as he essentially spoke the unmentioned. The rest of the Team knew of the attraction the two had for one another and well as Cassie and Tim had not exactly come out and made it official no one ever really said anything, or even brought it up like this.
" We are.... ummmm well.... ummmm " Cassie stammered paused looking at Tim for some help in the matter. "A little help here?
While Tim was asked to come up with an answer M'gann thought to maybe enlightened her friend on a few other details on social etiquette.
::Uhm usually in social settings even if you sense something between two people, it's usually best not to mention it especially the 'couple' thing unless the party involved mentions it first. Some people are private people and don't exactly like to talk about it let alone put a label on it. It's kind of this unspoken rule, you just don't bring it up unless they do so as not to bring the aw in awkward.:: M'gann explained to Seven with a small smile.

Tim figured that M’Gann meant League business. J’onn, like Bruce and so many other members of the League tended to find themselves having to deal with some Global or off-world dilemma. It highlighted the growing importance of having a more than capable sidekick or hero to take their place when having to deal with more pressing matters. For as much as Tim enjoyed working alongside Bruce, he didn’t at all mind when the Bat took time away from Gotham. That coupled with Nightwing having departed, and Barbara having to balance Gotham with the Team. It meant that Tim had a lot more responsibility, more chances to gain more experience and grow into the hero he wants to become.
“Bruce is… Bruce”. Tim didn’t really know what to say about Bruce. He wasn’t exactly the easiest person to read, and from what Tim gathered he was the same as always. “Nothing on the party front I’m afraid”. Tim added with a small sigh. “When Bruce is off hosting, or playing the role of guest. Gotham’s got Barb and myself taking care of things, but. I’m sure if you ask, he may throw an invitation your way”. Of course, there were occasions where Barb and Tim had to call for Bruce, but most of the time they dealt with any threat just fine. Tim wasn’t too sure about invitations though, he couldn’t even recall the last Leaguer he saw at one of Bruce’s gatherings. M’Gann may have a chance though; she was as polite as they come.
Then things got a little complex. Sebastian was certain a little outspoken at times, and very direct with what he said. Tim had been taken aback when Sebastian brought up Cassie and himself being a couple. It was a bit of an odd situation. It was well known that there was something there between the two, but they themselves were yet to put a label on things. Cassie seemed at a loss for words, quickly calling on the help of the Boy Wonder – he wasn’t any better suited to answering, not right away at least.
”Uhhh…. Tim mumbled as he tried to gather his thoughts to respond with a competent response. ”We are… I… guess?”. Immediately following what he said, Tim shot a look towards Cassie. He wasn’t sure how she felt about things, or thought about things and just hoped his answer had gone down well with her. ”I mean… we’re definitely something”. Tim kept his hands firmly within the pockets of his hoodie. He had something of a tendency to fidget when he was unsure, that which he was doing with a batarang in his pocket. Really, perhaps the two needed to sit down and define things, but the mall was most definitely not the place to do that.

Seven nodded softly once to show he understood that they were at the start of whatever it was they had. It was an interesting thing to see, how they both wanted the other to define what they were. As if they were worried that they would overstep or perhaps get it wrong and they would have misread the situation completely. He also saw how it could apply to other situations.
::Uhm usually in social settings even if you sense something between two people, it's usually best not to mention it especially the 'couple' thing unless the party involved mentions it first. Some people are private people and don't exactly like to talk about it let alone put a label on it. It's kind of this unspoken rule, you just don't bring it up unless they do so as not to bring the aw in awkward::
The mental voice of M'gann in his head elicited a slight smirk, it was weird how much he liked that she could do that. "I am sorry if I said something I shouldn't, I hope I didn't offend anyone." Sebastian gave an apologetic smile "Social situations are something I am still working on, so many hidden rules to pick up."
As they walked he considered the event a little further, the strange awkwardness that had happened due to someone pointing out they were attracted to each other. It wasn't like he hadn't experienced something similar but Seven had put that down to him not understanding what to do or say. It would appear that even people with years of experience had issues as well.
Giving the male called Tim a thoughtful look before Seven spoke up again "I was thinking, perhaps as a later time you would be able to help me understand some of them? As much as I enjoy spending time with M'gann I think it might be advisable for me to spend time around my own gender for their input on life." What was it that the TV shows called it? Guy talk. That was something Seven could see being beneficial to his growth. Not that sports or drinking interested him but the things that made a male a male in terms of processes and attitude to things seemed to be useful to fitting in. He had so many questions that he couldn't approach with M'gann, as much as Kat's input might be helpful it still wasn't quite gender related. "If you have time and the inclination, that is. I do not want to put you out."
