Kara smiled to herself as she walked, nearing the crosswalk of a busy Metropolis street. The sun was glinting ever so gracefully off of the sidewalks, and a gentle breeze blew against the people of the city. Men and women filled the sidewalks in great quantity, and each person seemed to have their own destination. As the cars passed by, they each reflected a bit of sunlight, all in their own timing, creating a flashing sequence that seemed eternal, though the blinding glare wasn't as favorable. Supergirl stopped once she reached the edge of the sidewalk, waiting for the opportunity to cross, as she mused her plans for the the next few days.
It had been a long week, and between crime fighting and training, Supergirl had barely had time to focus on school work. Being accepted into Metropolis University was a big deal, but if she couldn't keep her grades up, all of her hard work would be for nothing. After failing a test at the college, Kara requested a couple of days away from the Team, in order to study. No Supergirl, no cape, just Kara Kent and her school books.
At last it was her day off, and she was actually looking forward to learning. She'd filled her book bag with text books, and set off to study in the city, where she normally found little distraction. It was the type of rushed atmosphere that Kara enjoyed seeing, and it made her feel calm for reasons she couldn't understand.
The crosswalk signal changed, and people began making their way across the street. Once she was on the other side, Kara found a nice table outside of the local cafe. It had been her favorite place to study ever since she'd started school on earth, and she loved spending her time there.
Unzipping her backpack, Kara carefully placed its contents on the table, before taking her seat, hoping to get in some study time without too many distractions. The Kryptonian had a bad habit of people-watching, and she loved nothing more than to see humans going about their daily lives.
