27th Oct.
Halloween. It made no sense to Seven. From what he could see and had picked up so far was that it was a holiday for people to dress up in funny clothes and pretend to be scared of plastic objects in the shape of fictional beings. Yet he stood in the main lobby of the mall waiting for the others to show up and try and get him into the spirit, so to speak, of the festivities.
He had been free for awhile now and his learning was improving all the time, something that was coming on well was his social skills. It seemed Seven had the ability to appear broody in the right sort of way when he was leaning against things, truthfully it was M'gann's fault as she had let him watch so many tv shows where the bad boys acted in a certain way and Seven had found that that suited him as a public persona. Not exactly the greatest secret identity in the world but it was a start. So while a group of girls sat further away glancing in his direction now and again he greeted them each time with a slight playful smirk of the lips that sent them giggling and into a huddle gossiping. It was times like this that Seven would have liked to have not been able to read lips. Even though he wasn't clear on what they whispered meant he was pretty sure of the intent. Perhaps he would have to get himself some glasses and act shy and geeky. Something to consider for another time.
Letting his eyes wander over the interior, taking note of the security and decorations, a mental note to remove any pictures of himself later that evening was put in place as he pushed from the wall to walk outside and away from the getting braver girls. He really didn't want to blow his cover by having no idea what they were about to ask him to do.
Seven took a look at the evening sky, it was clear out and although the light pollution killed most of the view he could make out a few stars here and there. There was the smell of coffee from a vendor nearby that mixed with the various street carts that made up a small autumn market that sold various treats in the holiday spirit. As much as Seven wanted to wander and see the fuss he knew that it was better to wait. Wait for who was the main issue, he hadn't spent much time with the team except for Katt and M'gann. So he hoped they would show up at least, that way there was at least one person who knew him and him them. It would be a pain if he had to go through explaining about himself and his limitations in concepts and communications. Perhaps if he played with the law of averages he could nudge events in his favour.
Walking to the coffee vendor, he ordered three coffees. He knew what he wanted, that rarely changed. Mocha with three extra shots of Expresso. That it seemed was the right amount of caffeine to give him a slight buzz as he drank it, the same as it gave anyone else. Katt and M'gann's order was also simple. Perfect memory meant that was carved in stone. Balancing the cups he found a small wall to sit on while he waited at the doors, the two hot cups sitting next to him steaming away.

[/i] M'gann thought, thinking she needed to tell Katt to get Seven to NOT do that broody thing. Of course M'gann also figured the boy did that to torment her because he knew from the moment Damon hit the screen that she crushed on the character and no amount of hiding it kept it from Captain Observant over there. Her eyes looked back over at him and caught his glance. M'gann smiled and waved closing the gap between them and noticing how the girls around him giggled just as Seven greeted the girls near by each with a slight playful smirk of the lips that sent them giggling and into a huddle gossiping. ~Oh Lord...he's discovered the smolder.~ sighing M'gann walked over to Seven with a smirk of her own finding it amusing what he was doing sending the girls next to him in a tizzy. "Biggest mistake ever was letting you watch Vampire Diaries you know that?" she joked as she noticed the girls all in whispers and giggles mode over Seven. It really was kinda funny. She wondered if it was a conscious effort on Seven's part to do that to the girls of if he just did that subconsciously. "So, you excited for this excursion?" she asked. "This is so gonna be fun...anyone else get here yet?"[/div][/ul][/font][/div] ************************************************* TAG: VII & THE TEAM NOTES: M'gann Wearing THIS

Seven returned the smirk and shrugged softly "You say it is a mistake but it has helped me fit in a lot better." Offering her the coffee he had bought her, leaving the other sitting beside him still Seven looked her over and smiled "You look amazing, as always." Seven took a drink from his own coffee before continuing to speak "I'm looking forward to spending time with you, but that is nothing new. It will good to meet others I am working with. Expand on my learning base. I can stop bugging you and Katt so much."
The girls that had been slowly moving closer had started moving away, the guys attention was on the girl who just showed up so either they had missed their chance or he was taken. Either of those worked for Seven, he really didn't want to have to deal with them asking him stuff he didn't know the answer to or agreeing to something that ended up getting him into trouble.
"Seems you saved me again." Seven smirked softly, it seemed his smile was slowly being replaced by a playful smirk as time progressed. Most likely picked up from watching tv or something else, understated emotions suited him better, at least he felt so. Bouncing and giggling was really not something he felt comfortable with. So calm, cool and collected it was going to be. "They were talking about all sorts of weird things, not really sure I was comfortable with them approaching and I don't have to walk away, fast, now."
Again he looked her over, was hard not too. Since she already knew he found her attractive Seven didn't really see a need to hide the fact. She could read his mind anyway, so what was there he could do but just go with it? "Sorry, can't help it." The clone said pre-emptively "Change of subject. How is Megan tonight?" Using her human name wasn't really right in his mind, she was M'gann but uncover identities didn't really work if everyone knew them. "Was practice ok?"
Taking another drink to let her reply, Seven let his attention wander around a bit more. Families and couples, all wandering about buying the fake plastic fictional things. Food too, seemed to be a lot of food being consumed. The amount of money being spent must have been in the thousands. All of it just used to buy something for one day of the year. Defining the concept of fun was proving pretty damn tricky. What each person considered enjoyable was completely different which meant that a standard was impossible to find. Without a standard he couldn't find a base point to work from. That was mildly annoying.
"Do you know who we are expecting?" Seven said turning his attention fully to her again "I won't know what they look like unless its one of the few I have met already"

[/i]Seven had said offering her the coffee he had bought her and leaving another sitting beside him still. "Maybe a little too much." she joked and then took the offered beverage. Smelling the warm drink she knew exactly what he got her; her favorite, caramel macchiato. "For me? You didn't have to do that." she smiled immediately putting the cup to her lips to sip and savor the amazingness that was a caramel macchiato. " Mmmmm" she sighed again in that similar way she did before with the s'mores. "Delish...thanks for this." she said for the drink. Then Seven's voice sounded once more." You look amazing, as always."
" What, all sticky and sweaty from practice?" M'gann joked trying to mask the fact that he still made her blush when he said things like that. She swore he did it on purpose. "You need to raise you bar a little higher for amazing." she teased. "You aren't a bother Se-Sebastian." M'gann said of Seven's comment on bothering her and Katt with questions and almost calling him Seven. Maybe it was a smart thing he didn't go with Stefan cause it was too close to Seven and she might have unintentionally said the wrong name. The the young girls that were all gaga over Seven decided to head on out with parting glances, whispers and giggles to boot. ~Yup, he totally mastered the smolder.~ M'gann thought at the girls as they were leaving picking up on their thoughts. "Seems you saved me again." Seven smirked softly, it seemed his smile was slowly being replaced by a playful smirk as time progressed. ~Oh yeah...doing it again.~ M'gann smirked. "As if you really needed or wanted saving from them." she quipped. "They were talking about all sorts of weird things, not really sure I was comfortable with them approaching and I don't have to walk away, fast, now."
That got a laugh out of the Martian. Somehow seeing this clone made and built for taking down and killing metahumans, running away from a bunch of teenaged Mall girls was kinda amusing. "Yeah they looked real dangerous too. Mustn't be fooled by the glittery headbands. They're deadly." she teased. Then he looked her over again causing M'gann's laughter to settle to a soft chuckle. She was aware of his attraction to her though she thought by now after more exposure into the world it would have died, but it hadn't. He also never really felt the need hide the fact either and the fact that she could read his mind just made it doubly apparent it hadn't waned. Laughing a little as she put her hand up to cover his eyes in a playful 'stop staring' manner. "Ok you need to stop it." she said as she chuckled still lightly flushed. "Sorry, can't help it." The clone said pre-emptively. "Help it." M'gann suggested with a smirk. "Change of subject. " "Probably for the best." she said with a smile. "How is Megan tonight?" he asked using her human name. "Was practice ok?" "Yeah it was good. Learned a new routine and an amazing stunt, hence my sweaty, sticky grossness of an appearance. I came straight from practice." she said even if technically she wasn't sweaty or sticky or gross feeling, it was carrying forward the initial joke. She watched though as he listened to her while he scanned the area. "Do you know who we are expecting?" Seven said turning his attention fully to her again "I won't know what they look like unless its one of the few I have met already" "I'm not sure. I know I texted them all. I think maybe Tim and Cassie, Dick is probably a noshow he's usually too busy with the 'cool kids' to hang with us." M'gann joked, but knew that Nightwing was probably busy on a case or patrol. "Katt maybe? I haven't checked yet to see if she replied to my text. I doubt Khaldur will come, he usually always busy with Team stuff but I still texted him...Then there's Geoff, but I haven't seen him in a while so not sure, he might be doing Team stuff too. Kori though might come if she isn't busy and Babs maybe, not sure about Babs. I didn't check my texts yet, but yeah those are the potentials at least." "You'll know them when you see them, don't worry." M'gann reassured him as she took another sip of her heavenly drink and waited with Seven for some of the gang to arrive. The Metropolis Mall was so much better than the one they had in Gotham. For starters, it appeared a lot safer as in the mall in Gotham finding a psychopath is just as easy as finding a fast food restaurant. Then there was the fact that the Metropolis mall just seemed a lot grander in terms of everything, it actually had something of a decent atmosphere as well. It was full of life, from the children running around with their brand new toys, to the older generation sat at a coffee place watching on as the world went by. It was just a nicer place to be, and Tim was grateful for the invitation away from the doom and gloom that he has become so accustom towards.
In truth, Tim had arrived a little earlier. He wasn’t alone either, as he had decided to tag along with Cassie. Things had been going great between the two as of late, like, really great. So much so in fact, that it had become the source of much banter as of late between the Bat Family during those late crime-fighting filled nights in Gotham. Not that Tim minded too much, he had become used to dealing with the playful jibes of both Barbara and Dick. Back to the mall.
The whole point of this meet up for the most part seemed to be to get costumes for Halloween. Tim thought that perhaps Cassie would nag him into getting one of those couple costumes, but really he had his sights set on a Batman costume. Why? For many reasons; the first of which is just because, well… he has sort of been a Bat-Fan since a kid; why not dress up as the caped crusader on Halloween? Then there was the second reason. If Bruce caught him donning some cheap Batman lookalike costume and putting on the ‘Batman’ impression, it would surely provide some laughter within the Wayne household – plus, Alfred wants a cowl for the trick or treaters.
At this moment in time, Tim was located within a music store. Cassie had split off from him, for a reason he couldn’t quite remember. It was something like she wanted to grab something to drink, or perhaps check on something she spotted in one of the numerous stores? Either way, Tim was currently by his lonesome self. Of course, Tim was in his usual gear. Jeans, shirt, hoodie, sneakers and of course; the brooding shades. Tim was looking about a few CDs that were on display, none of which he fancied enough to purchase. “One Direction? Who even buys this crap…”. Tim muttered to himself as he shifted through the CDs. It was all rubbish. Tim backed a step or two away, and turned to head out the door when he glanced upon M’Gann and… who was that guy? Whatever! Seems the Martian had arrived promptly. Tim headed out from the store, and headed over towards the group. Tim had no smile on his face, no smirk. A rather deadpan look about him, the shades he wore did wonders to help the approach he was going for. “sup”. Tim remarked. Seeing as Tim was pals with Superboy, he had an obligation to come across more broody than usual to any boy seen with M’Gann. Tim would rather not, but, he’s not exactly going to risk aggravating a Kryptonian. “...who’s this?”. Tim inquired, he hadn’t seen him before. Bart sort of ruined the whole secret identity thing, which is what made Tim assume whoever this guy was, he wasn’t one of them.

Help it M'gann covered his eyes, it was an odd thing. Seven disliked being touched, he avoided letting others into his personal space. It reminded him of combat, the invasion of space and the invitation of violence. Yet he allowed her to take one of his sense away with a smirk.
"I really can't make that promise. Perhaps if I knew you didn't like it, I would stop."
Seven changed the subject though, this was all still very new to him and it was for the best that they didn't get caught up in it all again.
Asking her about who may arrive only got him a list of names that meant more or less nothing. Katt he knew, the others just by names. As he was about to ask more about who they might be she said he would recognise them when he saw them. Which made him decide that perhaps trying to spot them was better than asking for clues. Turned out it was not difficult at all. The male striding towards them had all the markings of someone trained in combat, the confident gait and ready for anything tense muscles. Before Seven could greet the male, the teen spoke.
“sup...who’s this?"
There was a tone in that question, it was something that triggered an instinct deep in Seven, it held the tone of threat or intimidation backed up with the posture. Seven tilted his head ever so slightly. His first thought was to reach past M'gann, grab the teenager and smash his head against the wall until he stopped moving. It was like a primal thing had been roused deep in him, his entire being was made for combat and someone trying to intimidate him was like setting fire to its tail. It was like an instant rush, the lust for combat. Yet. Seven briefly flicked his eyes to M'gann, she was here. Like the last time he had lost control. The memory of him beating on his Captain, over and over. The look on her face. Yet that wasn't going to stop him from acting out. What did was the memory that came afterward, so many times that same shy little smile with the slightly red cheeks.
Then the moment was over, a instant of thoughts and emotion passed in a heartbeat and instead what Seven did was extend his hand to the male. "Hey there, nice to meet you. I'm Sebastian. You must be a friend of Megan's?" His tone was pleasant, no one would have known that he had been a second away from indulging in bloodshed. "really glad that you could make it. You must be on the team with us." Making a good impression was important to him, these people were M'gann's friends. Which means that he would be working with them. Working with allies was far better than working with people who may dislike him. Though he had to wonder what he had done to create the need to try and posture like this.

It had been a while since Cassie had been in Metropolis, she had almost forgotten how pretty it was here. She was glad that Tim had invited her out on this excursion, though the two had separated briefly while he had gone into the music store. Cassie stopped by the food court and picked up a strawberry, banana, mango smoothie. It was times like this you could tell that Cassie was truly a teenage girl. Before she went to catch up with Tim after getting her drink, she also hit a few shops to pick up a few bits and bobs that she needed as well.
Cassie made her way through the Metropolis Mall with a few bags and her smoothie. Though not really in that big of a rush as she figured Tim would still be browsing through he music selections, she casually strolled around taking in the sights while also doing a little window shopping at the same time. From what she had understood the reason for the mall visit was to pick up some costumes for Halloween, though Cassie hadn't given a single thought to Halloween prior to receiving the invite to go shopping.
She was a little more than a bit curious to see if this year would be the year that she would see some Wonder Girl Costumes or at the very least, some girls dressed up in Wonder Girl costumes they made themselves. The thought was a little exciting though she would probably never admit that to anyone.
As Cassie walked along, she caught a glance of a familiar ginger haired girl, just up the way from where she was, who was standing talking to two handsome dark haired boys. The one she immediately knew was Tim but the second one she hadn't seen before. Cassie picked up her pace slightly as she approached the other three with her bags in tow as well as her smoothie.
"Hey M'gann" She said as she leaned in to hug the other girl, careful to not spill her smoothie on her. After ending the hug she smiled politely at the strange guy. "Hi there, I'm Cassie" she said as she extended her hand to greet him, her shopping bags dangling from her arm. She then took a step back and stood beside Tim. "Sorry I got a little side-tracked on my way back"she said with a small laugh as she looked down at her bags.

"I really can't make that promise. Perhaps if I knew you didn't like it, I would stop."
"And now you're flirting?" M'gann chuckled and shook her head at the clone. "I don't know whether I should be impressed or afraid with how far you've come with social interactions in such a short period of time."
Then conversations moved to the more casual as M'gann talked about her cheer practice and Seven had asked about who was all coming to the mall. As M'gann recounted the list of people she thought would come a familiar form came walking their way; Tim. She watched as Seven analyzed the other teen's approach. She could tell he was even if he didn't say anything, it was in the way he looked at her Teammate's approach. It was subtle his analytical appraisal but M'gann had spent enough time around the clone to know by now the subtle nuances of the young man's behaviour. She also knew and understood Tim's reaction as he approached her and Seven.
Tim had no smile on his face, no smirk just that neutral looking repose. There was a rather deadpan look about him and the shades he wore did wonders to help the approach he was going for. M'gann couldn't help but smile even as the young man greeted them.
“sup”. Tim remarked.
"Hi Tim!" M'gann greeted with her usual warm smile upbeat manner and gave the young man a friendly hug like she always did when she greeted her friends in their civilian alias'. After all it was a 'Megan' thing to be all huggy and stuff.
“...who’s this?”. Tim inquired, not having seen him before.
M'gann knew and understood where Tim's reactions were coming from. Tim was friends with Connor and she knew he felt that he had an obligation to come across more broody than usual to any boy seen with M’Gann and the young Martian didn't hold it against him, in fact the young Martian thought it was kind of touching the way he supported the boy of steel even when he wasn't here. Tim still felt like he should represent for his friend and M'gann understood where it was all coming from and appreciated where it was coming from; a good intention. Plus he wasn't rude or anything, it was all good in M'gann's eyes, but she did sense a shift in Seven's emotions for a moment causing the Martian to glance at her companion. She was about to introduce him when Seven spoke out for himself instead and that strange shift in the clone was gone, the emotion passing in a heartbeat and the young Martian relaxed a bit as Seven extend his hand to the male.
"Hey there, nice to meet you. I'm Sebastian. You must be a friend of Megan's?" His tone was pleasant, no one would have known that he had been a second away from indulging in bloodshed... and thankfully so. M'gann would have hated to have to take the clone down but he was showing that he had good control of his emotions and no longer reacted so rashly. The young Martian was glad for that.
"Yeah, this is Tim." M'gann said to Seven as she motioned to Tim. "Tim...Sebastian." she then motioned to Seven for Tim.
"Really glad that you could make it. You must be on the team with us." Seven said causing M'gann to smile, he was really trying and that was a good thing. Still M'gann thought to open communications a bit to Tim so he'd understand a bit better.
::Yeah sorry probably shoulda prepped you...His real name's Seven and an escaped Cadmus clone. I joked once asking if he was Seven of Nine but I don't think he got the humor or reference and well I haven't gotten around yet to show him Voyager so yeah, the funny was lost there...:: M'gann started only to suddenly turn her head to the side as she saw the familiar form of a pretty blonde coming their way; Cassie.
"Cassie!" M'gann said, breaking mental communication with Robin for a moment to greet her blonde super-friend.
"Hey M'gann" She said as she leaned in to hug the other girl, M'gann's smile broadened and hugged ehr friend warmly.
"Hi! Thanks for coming and that smoothie looks great!" the Martian.
After ending the hug with M'gann, Cassie smiled politely at the strange guy. "Hi there, I'm Cassie" she said as she extended her hand to greet him.
M'gann couldn't help but broaden her smile as she noticed all the shopping bags dangling from Cassie's arm as she took a step back to stand beside Tim. They made such a super cute couple M'gann thought. Not really sure if they were officially one or not but it M'gann was always a sucker for perfect matches and she always thought those two were cute together.
"Sorry I got a little side-tracked on my way back" Cassie had said with a small laugh as she looked down at her bags.
"I can see that." M'gann laughed along noting the various bags. "At least this trip's been productive for you so far... Cassie, this is Sebastian..." M'gann introduced even as her mind reached out to Cassie, and then Tim again.
::Technically that's not his realy name. It's Seven but Sebastian sounds a more 'normal'. Unless you're a Trekkie in which case Seven would be kind of cool or well Seven of Nine actually but he doesn't really have that hot bombshell look though...:: M'gann started to explain in her random way of referencing TV shows. Of course it didn't even dawn on M'gann the eerily close similarities Seven had to another Cadmus clone. With Seven's black hair, blue eyes and disposition for violence one would think M'gann had a 'type', but really she just couldn't turn her back on anyone that needed help and Seven had needed help. ::He's a Cadmus clone escapee...It's a bit of a long story but Kat and I are helping him adjust to life outside Cadmus. And Babs and some of the senior team members discussed it the other night and we thought we'd take him in and he'd train with the Team. He's got potential and skills, don't let his Damon Salvatore looking face fool you, he's capable and in the wrong hands more than dangerous. But he's also got a good heart; well meaning and helpful. I was hoping being around you guys...around all of us would positively influence him as Cadmus did a number on him. He was originally trained to hunt and take down metahumans so yeah, it's kinda heavy stuff. But he's a good guy; he means well and doesn't want to do Cadmus' bidding so uhm yeah...so thanks for coming?::
M'gann smiled. ::...prob shoulda told you all before but this kinda seemed a bit much to put in a text.::
"With Halloween around the corner I was hoping you guys could help Sebastian get into the spirit of Halloween and find him a costume." M'gann said continuing on from her verbal introduction of Seven as Sebastian to Cassie, without missing a beat.

Tim didn’t initially shake the hand of Seven. It wasn’t as though he was being so rude as to overlook the gesture, but instead he wasn’t given much time to respond. It was down to the fact that M’Gann had quickly caught him off guard with a hug which made it increasingly more difficult for Tim to keep up this brooding-badass approach up. “Heyyy”. Tim responded with as M’Gann hugged him. It really didn’t help aid the image that Tim was going for, but perhaps it was for the best. How long could Tim really keep this up? Not long would be the answer. It wasn’t Tim’s forte at all, best left to the professionals like Bruce and Dick.
With the hug over, Tim decided best to not leave Seven hanging and opted to shake the alien’s hand. “Tim, nice to meet you too. I guess we're... Teammates?”. Tim flashed a faint smile for a moment as he shook the hand of Seven. He was correct about Tim being on the team, though it would not have been surprising for one to think otherwise. Tim was on a tighter leash than most of the other sidekicks on the Team. It was something of a rarity to find him at the cave, or even outside Gotham like he is now. This could be the last time they see him for a few weeks now.
M’Gann then did her weird mind power thing. Tim had forgotten how strange the entire ordeal was, but it had great utility – which Tim liked. More information was given regarding her friend hers. A Cadmus clone, how are Cadmus not sick of making clones by now? Before any more time was given, the trio were greeted by the very person who had talked Tim into hanging out for a couple of hours; Cassie. If the brooding façade was not gone already, it was now. Tim couldn’t help but smile as Cassie arrived on the scene, though that smile turned to a look of confusion as he looked toward the bags. “A little?” Tim would say, a small laugh following as he knew he would most likely be carrying them shortly - great. “…and that’s why I avoid shopping”. Tim added as his gaze returned from looking at the bags. Tim didn’t have a problem with malls, but he was not fond of going to one for shopping. Well, that was not entirely the case. He was only against going shopping with Cassie, or Barbara, or another female member of the team who decided that whilst he may be ‘Robin’ during the night, he makes for a good bag holder during the day.
M’Gann went on to inform Tim and Cass of more details regarding their new teammate. It seemed as though he was just someone that needed guidance, and that the Team had taken him under their wing. It’s a dangerous game, adopting someone bred for hunting meta-humans. No bother for Tim though, one of the perks of being human was not being on a meta-hunter’s radar.
“Costumes, hmm? I hear the ‘Robin’ costume is pretty popular this year”. Tim would love nothing more than to be ‘Robin’ this Halloween, but he knew that would not be the case. He would obviously get dragged along to some party by Cassie, and if not her, then by one of the Bats. But still, a ‘Robin’ costume for one of the others is not a bad idea…

"It is a pleasure to meet you both"Seven smiled in greeting, this was strange and rapidly getting out his comfort zone. It was clear the three of them were good friends. The contact and the words along with tone made that more than clear and he was the outsider. Soon there would be jokes and comments that made sense to only them. Yet, was that not the point of all this? To break out of the comfort zone and fit in better. Better to learn than stick to ways that were unhelpful.
Motioning to Cassie's bag Seven tilted his head a little, protocol on such things were to take the bags or at least offer to carry them so Seven chimed up "Would you like me to carry your bags while we are perusing the various stores?" Even putting his hand out for her to place them there if she decided. Manners was something he had been learning about lately, it seemed that they were the building blocks of interactions. Unfortunately most of the world had left those sort of things behind but Seven had decided to start at the beginning and work his way up to what was currently in place. That was if he found them to work better than the older models. It was a constant process of evaluation and processing results. Much like he did with everything.
"I must confess I do not really understand the holiday. Costumes do not seem to serve a purpose, fear of fictional entities is irrational and the excessive consumption of toxic substances seems unwise. Consumerism drives this event and everyone seems happy to partake." Looking around as if to help make his point, it really did seem rather silly to him. Logic and reason were so much simpler for him to work through. This sort of thing had none of it, not even emotional responses for him to try and comprehend. It was just people buying things in crazy amounts. So much junk food was being stored up for future eating. That was going to make someone really sick, if not all of them. Did they not understand all the chemicals they were ingesting?
"Megan thinks it is important however that I understand it, so I am going to do my best to find the logic in it. I ask you to have patience with me while I figure it all out."

"Would you like me to carry your bags while we are perusing the various stores?" Sabastian asked her as she extended his hand. She gave him a warm smile in response to his gesture.
"I appreciate your offer, it's really sweet, but I'm okay holding them right now, but thank you for your offer" She said to him being sure to let him know that she truly did appreciate his kindness, not many people would offer to help someone out that they had just met. Cassie didn't worry that he would try to run off with her bags, after all he was a friend of M'gann's so he had to be pretty good people in her book.
Sebastian spoke up again. "I must confess I do not really understand the holiday. Costumes do not seem to serve a purpose, fear of fictional entities is irrational and the excessive consumption of toxic substances seems unwise. Consumerism drives this event and everyone seems happy to partake."
His statement was certainly understandable when you stopped to think about Halloween for the first time. It was never really something Cassie had honestly put too much thought into growing up, as long as she could remember, it was the one night a year that she was able to dress up as anything she wanted to be and go door to door to get candy, but she could definitely see how such a tradition could be confusing to someone who had not experienced it yet.
"Halloween isn't just about being scary, though it is one of the fun parts as we get older, for younger children it's more about being superheroes or Princesses, as kids grow up they tend to enjoy the more scary aspects of the holiday such as scarier costumes and haunted houses, which are really fun FYI" Cassie said with a wink.
"It steams from the ancient holiday, All Hallow's Eve started out being dedicated to remembering the dead, including saint, martyrs, and all the faithful departed believers. Within Allhallowtide, the traditional focus of All Hallows' Eve revolves around the act of using the act of humor and ridicule to confront the power of death. Cassie realized that she was starting to sound more like a teacher than a Teen and stopped what she was saying as she looked at Tim and M'gann hoping someone would speak up before she bored Sebastian to tears, before she looked down at the floor feeling slightly embarrassed for her ramblings.

M'gann smiled as Seven offered to carry Cassie's bags for him, etiquette was also good practice for the clone alone with the pleasantries of interaction. It was nice to know that he actually paid attention to what M'gann had instructed him on and also nice that he actually needed no prompting. No, his social skills were definitely improving by leaps and bounds. Eventually the clone would fit in without anyone being the wiser. At the moment his phrasings of certain things were still odd and perhaps a bit on the formal side but like learning any language, the proper and formal was always the first thing learned and utilized. With comfort and use the colloquialisms would eventually creep in. Her musings were cut short when M'gann heard the discussion of holiday creep up.
"Megan thinks it is important however that I understand it, so I am going to do my best to find the logic in it. I ask you to have patience with me while I figure it all out."
The young Martian chuckled. "I didn't say 'understand' it, but 'experience' it. There is a difference between the understanding of said Holiday and experiencing the energy and vibe of Halloween." she explained in that patient way she always did with the clone.
"And people don't always dress up in scary things I mean 'Robin' isn't scary..." M'gann threw a wink in Tim's direction. "Neither is Superman and people dress up like him on Halloween." she didn't bother mentioning Batman even though people dressed up as the Dark Knight mostly because well he *is* scary. "Sometimes people dress up to become someone else rather than scare people. Halloween the one night where you can be anybody or anything you want. Children go house to house trick or treating to get candy and the older people in their homes enjoy seeing the children and giving out the candy. The older kids go to dances and parties to celebrate and really it's just an excuse to get out and get together. And the consumption of alcohol with the College and University crowd well...that one really needs no occasion, and getting intoxicated isn't really a Halloween thing, it's more a Collegiate/University, just wanna get drunk thing."
"Halloween isn't just about being scary, though it is one of the fun parts as we get older, for younger children it's more about being superheroes or Princesses, as kids grow up they tend to enjoy the more scary aspects of the holiday such as scarier costumes and haunted houses, which are really fun FYI" Cassie said with a wink and M'gann listened as she gave the history and the real reason for Halloween that even M'gann didn't know.
"It steams from the ancient holiday, All Hallow's Eve started out being dedicated to remembering the dead, including saint, martyrs, and all the faithful departed believers. Within Allhallowtide, the traditional focus of All Hallows' Eve revolves around the act of using the act of humor and ridicule to confront the power of death." Cassie said only to suddenly stopped what she was saying as she looked at Tim and M'gann as if hoping one of them would speak up only to then look down at the floor feeling slightly embarrassed for her ramblings.
"Wow, I totally never knew that Cass! Did you know this Tim? I totally didn't know this." M'gann said in total awe of the history briefing she was just given. All this time celebrating the day and she never even realized the true reason. She was totally now fixated on this 'real reason'. "What about the pumpkins and the jackolanterns was there a reason or meaning for them?" the young Martian asked completely in fascinated now with this new revelation only to realize that maybe other people would not have found the subject as fascinating. The young Martian chuckled a little. "Sorry, was getting a little carried away."
"So, costume shopping right?" she said switching gears and deflecting a little with an amused thought. "How funny would it be if we all try on a Robin and take a group pic then text it to Dick with a Hashtag I Heart Robin, Hashtag Team Robin Rox." M'gann snickered. It was probably only funny in her mind as she had this strange sense of humor but she couldn't help but be amused by this.
"But yeah, we should probably head out and start looking for costumes." she suggested. "Do any of you know what you're dressing up as this year?"

“I’ll have you know, M’Gann… the ‘Robin’ look is plenty scary”. Tim would joke back, interjecting before M’Gann said anything further. Though Tim always figured the short shorts is what really put fear into the heads of Gotham’s criminal underbelly. But unfortunately, he doesn’t have the legs to pull that look off – maybe it was something to consider.
Tim didn’t feel it necessary to chime in as the two girls went on to explain the holiday to Sebastian. It seemed that they had every part of the subject nailed down to a tee; there was nothing more for Tim to add. He himself was with Sebastian, to some degree. Tim was never all too fond of the holiday itself. It had been years since he went out in search of candy, or anything of the sort. The allure of Halloween tends to wear off after a few encounters with Scarecrow. Yet still, Tim was determined to make an effort, sort of. This year he wouldn’t be sporting the buzzkill costume - that would be staying in the closet this time around.
“I wouldn’t waste time with texting Dick”. Robin would say in response to M’Gann. Tim hadn’t heard from Dick ever since he departed Gotham over a year ago. It seemed unlikely that he would respond to a text if he can’t find the time to call home once in a while. It was something of an iffy subject within the Wayne household.
As M’Gann enquired about the ideas they each had for a costume. Tim’s face would lighten up with a smile. He had been planning his costume for a while now, he had already begun working on it. It was going to be so sweet. “I would like to go as Batman”. Tim would say as he answered the question put forth. His answer however, was not terribly creative or original. ”But, I want to find the worst Batman costume possible, or even make the worst costume. I’ve got a few ideas already, like, I turned a cardboard box into a cowl the other day”. Needless to say, Tim was looking to play with fire this year by having a few laughs at the expense of his mentor. ”I’m sure everyone will get a kick out of it”. Most notable; the other League members, as it seemed no-one was allowed to make a mockery of the Dark Knight. Something stepping up to do so, would surely go down well with everyone else who didn’t dare to. ”I’m even working on an impression for it”. Of course, Tim wasn’t alone in his endeavour, aided by the help of a certain Englishman.

Seven listened as he always did, taking in the things said and processing them rapidly. What the blonde female had said about confronting death with humour was an interesting thought. It changed the tone of the holiday to more of a rebellion against fear of death. So the costumes were a way to take a persons mind away from something they were scared of. Becoming the thing of fear instead. Empowering themselves against things they felt helpless over.
Though it did raise a train of thought with the clone "If I am understanding what you are saying correctly, the reason for this holiday is to shift focus away from the things that made people uncomfortable, making them fun or light hearted?" Shifting his attention to the various people as they walked by before turning to M'gann with a playful smirk "A holiday for topic changes? No wonder you enjoy it so much." In jokes, Seven did those now.
Taking the last drink from his coffee cup the clone tossed it into the trash can that was sitting about eight foot away without looking, he had seen its position earlier and had no need to redetermine it now. All it took was a simple calculation of power and angle needed to get it into the can.
"So it is normal to dress up as other people? Considering the odd looks I get when I mimic, this could be a tricky prospect. Perhaps I could ask you all for suggestions on suitable costumes for me? I would appreciate the input. Perhaps vampire would be a good place to start?"
Seven still had that extra cup of coffee sitting and he looked at it briefly, pondering if he should put it also into the bin but he looked at Tim and Cassie instead "I purchased this for Katt but she does not seem to be attending, would either of you like it?" He held up the coffee cup if either wished to take it they could. "If she shows up then I can buy another, this one is getting cold however. I would not like it to be wasted if someone wishes to consume it." The limits of his vocabulary was starting to show, he was back to using proper words and not the usual less formal terms people relied on. Still, Seven thought things were going rather well considering. He hadn't killed anyone, no one had tried to attack him and overall it seemed successful for now.

"Wow, I totally never knew that Cass! Did you know this Tim? I totally didn't know this what about the pumpkins and the jackolanterns was there a reason or meaning for them? Do any of you know what you're dressing up as this year?"M'gann went on enthusiastically.
Cassie couldn't help by giggle a little by M'gann's excitement as she began to ramble on throwing out her idea about a group of Robin copies being photographed and sent to Grayson via text. While it would be amusing, she couldn't help but picture others in the Robin shorts, causing her to giggle even louder.
It was at that time Tim answered M'gann's question. “I would like to go as Batman But, I want to find the worst Batman costume possible, or even make the worst costume. I’ve got a few ideas already, like, I turned a cardboard box into a cowl the other day I’m sure everyone will get a kick out of it I’m even working on an impression for it”.
"Oh lord, you're gonna be 30 before you ever get to drive the Bat-mobile after this" Cassie replied as she giggled a bit more. She wasn't sure why she was finding things so funny today, perhaps she was over caffeinated? perhaps she was just in a really good mood for a chance, either way it was a good feeling to be out with friends and actually laughing for a change. She turned her attention to Sebastian as he spoke in a slightly confused tone.
"If I am understanding what you are saying correctly, the reason for this holiday is to shift focus away from the things that made people uncomfortable, making them fun or light hearted? Cassie arched her eyebrow slightly at his statements, apparently Sebastian had mimic abilities from what he said. That was pretty interesting, at least Cassie thought so. "Vampires are always a popular choice" Cassie said in response to his idea of being a vampire for Halloween. "This mall is suppose to have one of the BEST Halloween stores in the country, so we shouldn't have too hard of a time finding awesome costumes" Cassie added with a huge smile, though she didn't have any clue what she would want to dress up as herself.
"I purchased this for Katt but she does not seem to be attending, would either of you like it?" He held up the coffee cup if either wished to take it they could. "If she shows up then I can buy another, this one is getting cold however. I would not like it to be wasted if someone wishes to consume it."
Cassie gave Sebastian a warm smile as he offered the extra coffee he had purchased for Katt. She raised her plastic cup that had her smoothie in it. "I'm good I still have over half of my smoothie left, but thank you for the offer" she said, perhaps Tim would drink it, but then again come to think of it, she couldn't recall ever seeing Tim drink Coffee, so perhaps she might learn something new about him today.
