Date: November 30, 2017 Time: 10:59 pm Location: Formerly Butte, Montana Tags: Miss Martian, @beastboy, @vii, AqualadKlarion watched from his lair inside the castle as several would be interlopers appeared before him, and he realized that it was to be expected by this point. After all, it wasn’t like his fellow members of the Light hadn’t warned him that there would be resistance to a plan to transform the world once again. ”No doubt. Nabu is attempting to overwrite my spell to make it easier on them,” he commented as he stroked Teekl. Well, it wouldn’t matter if the Lord of Order had done some tinkering with things to work the game in the heroes favor. Waving his hand over the mirror, Klarion separated the heroes, vigilantes and few sinister individuals into three groups that would appear at different locations in the town. This group was dropped off on the southeast road that led into town, and upon appearing the spell would have transformed them into the roles that they were meant to play. Sadly, they still seemed to retain their powers and extra weapons that they had brought with them. ”Curse Nabu. He has probably allowed them to retain their personalities as well! No matter. They won’t survive with what I have planned in store for them.”’Meow.’”Yes, Teekl. I will throw that at them should the get that far, but not a second earlier.” Sometimes, that cat was more enthusiastic about his games than the Witch Boy was, but in this case it was definitely warranted. After all, how could one not feel the adrenaline pumping with what he knew what was coming? His laughter echoed throughout the room, and a roar was what answered it. (OOC: Alright Ladies and Gentleman. By the time you post in this thread, you should have received a message that explains to you how your appearance has changed and what items you have been granted by Klarion’s game. You have one week to make a post about your arrival and noticing the changes and items before I throw up another post to get things started, and if you should fail to post after two mod posts have been made then your character shall be banished from Klarion’s kingdom.)

"If we..." Seven stopped mid-sentence and looked around "Why are we standing in mud and why is the world increased in size?" Looking down at himself the clone frowned "I am smaller and my clothes have changed." Trust Seven to point out the obvious but it was indeed true, he was half his usual size and wearing some sort of leather armour which he was currently tugging at to get an idea of its construction.
Once he was sure that it was actual protection of some kind his hands moved to the blade at his side and he began to examine that, testing its balance and edge like it was second nature. Which in part it was, things of a weaponry nature was comfortable in his hands. Something about the blade felt off though and required a close examination. From the handle Seven withdrew a set of lock picks and put them back inside with a thoughtful expression.
"None of this makes any sense" Seven said finally as he looked around at the area. There was something else bothering him, he could feel it tugging away at the edge of this thoughts. Like something trying to attract his attention. Pulling a cord from around his neck dangled a ring. With a cocked eyebrow Seven gave a slight sigh "Someone has a strange sense of humour. I am a trope. At least that part makes sense"
Seven turned to see who else had been teleported to wherever this was, he couldn't find any real logical solution to what had happened which meant it was either super-science or it was magic. Neither of which he knew much about but whoever it was must be extremely powerful to pull off something like this. Of course he automatically wondered if Cadmus was involved but this seemed against their standard practice. Training sessions were never this strange or altering. Putting the ring back around his neck Seven began to do some stretches to see if his form had been altered in any real way other than size which it seemed it hadn't. Seven found the nearest solid wall and began to take mental calculations on reach by reaching out to touch the wall. Once happy that he understood the new limitations of his smaller form Seven waited to see what the others were doing and how they were also changed.

One moment she was in a parking lot having hopped off the bus from a game and was headed towards the university. She was going back inside to pick up some books at the library, study a bit then head home only she was caught by a momentary dizziness. Putting her hand out to a tree, her fingers feeling the pressure and prickle of the bark's trunk her body felt weighted and she heard the scuff and clunk of metal. "Huh?" M'gann opened her eyes to find herself on a southeast road leading into a town she didn't recognize and the time of day was off and where are her clothes? Why is she wearing armor and flowing silk robes with symbols she didn't understand. Looking down at her guantleted hand she found the item that had made the scraping clunking sound; a mace or ok she didn't know it was called a mace but rather this funny looking stick with bulbous decorating thingy at the end or it looked sort of decorative...kinda like a baton really, only thicker. With a smirk the young Martian twirled the object briefly like a majorette baton playing around for a bit and then threw it up in the air tried to cartwheel and catch it on her way back up only her movement and timing was a bit off due to the plate armor she wore. The mace fell onto the dirt road with a thump. "Oh." she said them moved to pull down another restrictive item strapped to her back; a shield. Things were just getting stranger and stranger. At first she thought she was dreaming but she couldn't force her consciousness to wake up. She was wide awake but yet none of this made any sense. "Why do I have all this and what am I doing here.." she said looking at the shield and mace and glancing down at her armor and robes. Where is here? she wondered. Movement further down the road caught the young Martian's attention and she headed over to the small only to realize when she got closer the 'little man' was none other than the newest addition to the Team. "Seven?" M'gann asked at the diminutive form of the Cadmus clone. M'gann as well looked different with her hair platemale armor, cleric style robes, shield and mace. Her hair was even swept back into a long matrony looking red braid but she was not as different as the little man that was Seven in half pint form. "Uhm...that is you right?" she bent down to get a closer look. "You're much shorter. What happened?...this is just too wierd."

Kaldur had been in the midst of the seemingly countless meetings his new position in the diplomatic Corps seemed to entail seemed to entail when suddenly there was a flash of light. When the light subsided, Kaldur found himself.... somewhere else.
He was in the mist on a road, unpaved and weather beaten. He could barely see a few feet in front of him. However as he continued to adjust to his newfound surroundings, he noticed that other things had changed as well. He was no longer in the suit he had put on this morning. Instead he was clad in gleaming gold and blue armor from head to toe, complete with a currently raised visor. Kaldur recognized some of the designs etched into his armor, however the rest were a mystery as they were ancient symbols used long before he or even his King were alive. Feeling along the armor he realized that there was something else strapped to his back. Reaching back he drew out a three pronged trident with the same ancient symbols carved into it. He gripped it and thrust it forward, casually testing the weight. Tridents were a common weapon in Atlantis, and although they were by no mean his weapon of choice, he knew the basics of wielding one.
However now that he had gotten his bearings, he began wondering as to where he was and how he got there. It couldn't have been a Zeta Beam and he would not have been the only one here if it had been a Boom Tube. That didn't rule out some new tech, but given his change in attire as well, Kaldur believed the most likely explanation was sorcery. However his thoughts were broken as from the mist a noise broke out and out galloped, of all things,a horse.
This was no ordinary pony though, as it's muscled rippled under it's flank and it even had some armor of it's own attached to his head and saddle. This was a horse bred for battle. As it came to stop beside Kaldur and waited. Kaldur looked at the horse for a while as it seemed to be waiting on something. He noticed that the armor the horse ware was similar to his own.
" I suppose you are here for me." Kaldur said aloud
The horse head dipped as if to nod.
Kaldur hesitated for a moment unsure, but eventually sighed and climbed onto the horse, after all wasn't there a surface expression about not looking a gift horse in the mouth. He tentatively held the reigns
"What is they say in those western movies...Yah?" he said as he horse seemed to take his meaning and suddenly they were off. Moving fast out of the mist. As the mist broke Kaldur saw a town up ahead, all thatched roofs and grey brick. It seemed that there had been more than just a change of clothes, everything had changed. Kaldur felt a knot in his stomach as he realized this was most definitely sorcery and incredibly powerful socrery at that. The last time the world had been altered like this so drastically it had been Klarion and quartet of dark sorcerers. Whoever had done this was equally powerful and it did not bode well.
As he came closer to the town he tow others in the road as he came barreling toward them.
"Stop!" he said quickly to the horse, that seemed to understand him and came to halt by the other two. He shakily disembarked from the horse and Recognized M'gann and a new face. He briefly thought back the briefings he had been given shortly before as he stepped toward them.
"Miss Martian, Seven. it is good to see allies here, but I fear there is powerful sorcery afoot. Are you in contact with any other members of Team or were you transported here like I was?"

Gar stirred slowly, his muscles twitching and his eyes shifted under his closed eyelids, as sleep slowly relinquished its grip on him. He could feel the dreams slipping away into the back of his mind as well, the first so vivid and realistic images turning back into something as intangible as the sandman’s dust, little corns of glittering crystal seeping through your fingers, running faster the more you tried to grib unto them, until they’d all vanished back into the oblivion they seemed to come from.
Gar had always pondered why it was so hard to remember your dreams once you'd awoken. Surely it shouldn’t be that impossible... His mind stretched, reached, and tried to catch onto the lingering tendrils of the dream that moments before had taken up his intire focus, and kept him sleeping a lot longer than he should have been… not that that was anything new. This time was no different though; the colorful images of skies, and meadows, glittering steel… a castle… ?… where slipping through his metaphorical grip once more. He was pretty sure this one had been an important dream too. One of those good ones that held promises of adventure and excitement! Like the large epics from the movie screens…
He seemed to recall something about magic too, wizards perhaps? Knights... actually as he searched his tired semi sleeping brain he could still hear hoof beats in the distance of his brain... or... wait... no....
Gar blinked and sat up, his eyes opening, and the green eyes turning wide. He was pretty damn certain he’d gone to take a nap in his bed… in the cave. Not in an open… meadow… It was a nice one though. Tall green grass… white flowers… a tree line in the horizon and … a city with a.... damn… castle.
“Totally still dreaming… “ He blinked and rubbed his eyes, trying to banish the lingering sleep from his features. The sound of hoof beats where louder now, more attention demanding, and he turned just in time to see a knight in shining armor, gallop down a dirt packed road on a white horse. “…definitely… still sleeping…” Yet his mind was fully awake now, and no matter how much he kept telling himself he was asleep… He knew it wasn’t true. He was awake. But he wasn’t where he was supposed to be.
The rider was too far away for him to truly see any recognizable features, but the eqvipage seemed to be heading rather determinedly in one direction… a direction with answers perhaps? He pulled himself up, and once more found his brain stumbling as he realized it wasn’t just his surroundings that had changed… He seemed changed too…
Gar was still green, wich was afterall a rather hard thing to change. His hair, green, eyes green. Though after a more thurough inspection he found his teeth where no longer sporting pointed canines… and his ears though still pointed, now seemed excessively so… “Holy Rhino!" He exclaimed as realization dawned on him. "Im an elf! SWEEET!”
He couldn’t help but take a little exited dance step, as he moved his inspection down to look at his attire. Brown peasent looking clothes. Worn, but comfy, wool perhaps? And a waist pouch... and what was that..? He pulled at a string around his neck and found it attached to an odd looking little whistle. Pretty, but curious...
The hoof beats where slowing down, and he found his eyes drawn in the direction he’d seen the rider move. Was that other people standing in the middle of road? … Alright… Further inspection had better wait. He’d have to check that out first. He started into a determined stride towards the small gathering, starting to hum a tune that sounded suspiciously a lot like the theme song of the latest Hobbit movie... One might as well slip into charachter afterall...

"It is me. I seem to have been shrunken by the same force that has clad you in armour." He grinned softly as he looked it over "It is a good look for you." With the sound of some sort of animal making its way closer Seven took a few steps around M'gann to get a better look. Normally he would take a position to defend her but at his current size it seemed rather pointless. She was better armoured and most likely armed compared to his knife.
Miss Martian, Seven. it is good to see allies here, but I fear there is powerful sorcery afoot. Are you in contact with any other members of Team or were you transported here like I was?
"I was discussing physics with some of the Metropolis University students. I had planned to surprise M'gann with dinner but instead am here. Shrunken and turned into a fantasy trope. I even have a ring." He held the ring on the chain up for the others to see. "I have not begun to study magic but this is extremely powerful reality warping. I do not thing we are supposed to remember who we are. Between the change in look for some of us and area we are in, I think it is a safe assumption it is an attack on our minds as well as bodies."
That made sense to the clone, transport and befuddle your enemy into believing they are just a part of an elaborate fantasy world. They would be trapped and have no idea that they were imprisoned. Which meant if this was some sort of prison then there had to be a way to escape.
"It seems it is not just us three." Seven waved to Garfield as he came into view "Is there some sort of link between us four that have us here? I have done nothing out the ordinary in the last few days. I was under the impression magic needed activated or targeted to have an effect. A magic object or artefact?" He looked to the others in the hope they knew more than he did, his knowledge in magic was extremely lacking. Seven wanted a firm grasp of reality before he moved on to the things that could change it. "Perhaps you all should check to see if your abilities work as they should before we continue on, we do not want to be caught in an attack and find that powers you expect to work do not."

Klarion watched as each one of them took in the various changes that they had gone through as well as the weaponry that they had been given. ”I really hate Nabu,” he muttered while he watched. Then they started talking to one another, and the Witch Boy knew where that would lead. They would start figuring out what was going on and what they needed to do, and he couldn’t have them do that just yet. After all, they hadn’t even got the chance to face one of his newly created pets, and that just wouldn’t do. Waving his hands over the crystal ball, he orchestrated a little test to see how well they could adapt. Almost immediately, villagers started running toward the group of four in a panic. ”You must run! There are orcs attacking houses that way,” a man exclaimed before running past them. Several similar statements were made by others that were fleeing, and screams of panic could be heard farther down the road as well as a loud, gargled roar. It was quite clear that something disastrous was occurring, and if the heroes were true of heart than they would have to do something intervene on these people’s behalf. If the heroes did go farther in, then they would see exactly four orcs attacking houses and throwing individuals around like bags of flour, and they seemed bent on getting to one house that several militia men were attempting to defend. "Come on, men. We can't let them get to it, or else we are all doomed. Now fight," the presumed leader of the militia said as he through a crudely made spear at the orc with a bandage over one of his eyes. It flew past the monster who through a small axe back at the man, and his aim was far better even with one eyes. "Captain! A couple of men tried to drag their wounded leader into the house, but the orcs capitalized on this weakness and pushed forward and broke their defensive line. It would only be a matter of minutes for them to finish off the town's defensive force. (OOC: Alright. This is a pretty simple fight that the four of you can handle anyway that you want. You can tag team against a couple of them or each take on one. For sanity's sake, the orcs are named Steve (two axes), Bill (two handed axe), Greg (One Eye) and Ryan (pointing one). Take as many posts as necessary for the four of you to defeat them. Just remember not to double post, and as always try to have fun playing with them. Aqualad, Miss Martian, @beastboy,@vii. If you have any questions PM ME.)

"It is me. I seem to have been shrunken by the same force that has clad you in armour." Seven grinned softly as he looked it over "It is a good look for you."
"Thanks." M'gann smiled down at Seven a slight dust of pink blushing her cheeks though she was thankful the shadow of her hood would help to hide the colouring or well she hoped. "It's a bit restrictive in terms of movement. I have to adjust how I move and there are these strange symbols on the silks I am wearing over the armor that I haven't quite figured out yet."
It was so strange to be looking down at Seven as she talked, when she was so accustomed to looking up at him. She wondered how he felt about the sudden change in size and was about to ask him when the sound of a horse stole her attention. A horse and rider were coming their way. M'gann looked back down as Seven took a few steps around her to get a better look.
"Oh sorry." M'gann apologized for being in the way of Seven's vision thereby causing the clone to move around her to see the horse and rider.
"Miss Martian, Seven..." Khaldur greeted.
"Aqualad." M'gann greeted with a broad smile; her usual one. It always felt like everything was going to be ok whenever Kahldur was around. At least that was how M'gann always saw it, from the beginning when first she came on the team, he just always had this presence and calm about him; a confidence that made you believe that it was all going to be alright. Or well that was what she thought until the rest of his sentence came out.
"...it is good to see allies here,"
Allies, not friends. M'gann thought it was a strange choice of words, though she was suddenly reminded that as much as she wanted to think things were back to good between them, it wasn't; they weren't friends, not any more. Not the way M'gann would like it, but then again she did blast his brain and made him a vegetable for a while. That kind of thing tends to leave a scar. She just didn't know what she could do to make it better; to fix it. Maybe like Connor she just couldn't. Maybe it was just lost. That filled her with a bit of sadness though she didn't readily show it except perhaps with the subtlest of hints with a smile that waned just slightly.
"...but I fear there is powerful sorcery afoot. Are you in contact with any other members of Team or were you transported here like I was? "
Khalur said.
"I was discussing physics with some of the Metropolis University students. I had planned to surprise M'gann with dinner but instead am here. Shrunken and turned into a fantasy trope. I even have a ring." Seven had said as he held a ring on the chain up for the others to see.
M'gann turned to look at Seven in surprise. On any other time she would have turned and said something about his intended surprise, but sadly now was not the time to talk about it though she did cast him a look and a smile at the thought. But it was gone as soon as it appeared as she focused on the task at hand; the strange world and their current predicament. Seven then started to talk about reality warping and attacks on their mind and bodies. M'gann wasn't sure it was an attack on the mind, she would have sensed it somehow if it was and the fact that they knew one another meant they had their mental faculties. Then again what if it was a very skilled telepath and they were trapped in someone else's mindscape. M'gann supposed it was a possibility if it wasn't magic.
M'gann shook her head in answer to Khaldur's question of being in contact with any other team members. "I haven't tried yet. I just got here. I mean one minute I am hopping off the bus from a game in my cheer outfit and next thing I know I'm in...all this." she gestured to her attire and weaponry. "I suppose I could try to see if I can sense any of the others..."
M'gann said placing fingers to her temple and concentrating on sending out her telepathy to see if she could sense any one... "Gar!"
M'gann instantly turned in the direction she sensed her little brother coming and smiled.
::Hey Little Brother.:: M'gann's mental message reached Gar. ::You're here too...are you alright?:: she asked though she barely got in her question when suddenly villagers started running toward the group of in a panic.
”You must run! There are orcs attacking houses that way,” a man exclaimed before running past them. Several similar statements were made by others that were fleeing, and screams of panic could be heard farther down the road as well as a loud, gargled roar. It was quite clear that something disastrous was occurring.
"Aqualad..." M'gann said looking over at him for guidance. He'd been their leader once and despite everything that went down between them, despite what he may or may not think of her, she still trusted him to lead them. Some people were born leaders and Khaldur in M'gann's eyes was one of those few. "You call the shots..." she said then switched to their mind link.
::I'll link us all up.:: her mind's voice then sounded in all their minds.
Before them were four orcs attacking houses and throwing individuals around like bags of flour. M'gann used her telekinesis to catch one of the men sent sailing into the air about to strike a wall hard. The man's body stopped in hid air then righted itself until he was back on his feet and ran.
::For some reason they are seemingly fixated on getting to that one house.:: M'gann pointed at a building that had several militia men attempting to defend the place.
"Come on, men. We can't let them get to it, or else we are all doomed. Now fight," the apparent leader of the militia said as he threw a crudely made spear at the orc with a bandage over one of his eyes. It flew past the monster who through a small axe back at the man, and his aim was far better even with one eye.
M'gann gasped not fast enough to have stopped the axe as she had been previously helping to stop a man from crashing into a wall, but that didn't stop her from sensing the man's death. It felt horrible and cold, the pit of her stomach twisting.
"Captain! A couple of men tried to drag their wounded leader into the house, but the orcs capitalized on this weakness and pushed forward and broke their defensive line. It would only be a matter of minutes for them to finish off the town's defensive force.
With her shield and mace in hand at the ready though M'gann really wasn't sure how to use the weapon and shield. She would wade into the fray if needed, but she was so used to working as a coordinated unit; a team, she waited that fraction of a moment to coordinate with the others a plan of attack even as she used her telekinesis to push out at the some of the orcs to give the militia guard more space between them.
::Yeah, powers seem to be working fine.:: M'gann said in answer to an earlier question posed about whether they all still had their powers.

The orcs were not sure how it was happening, but they were forced into retreating. In their void, some of the militia men surged forward to launch a volley of spears at the group, and while most shots proved ineffective against the group of monster one of the spears was lucky enough to fly straight into the mouth of the one of them (Steve). As the beast went down, one of the men speculated that some magic had to of guided the projectile, but no one had time to dwell on the idea of some outside help as the remaining beasts resumed their attack. ”You there,” shouted one of the men. ”You are needed in the basement of this house. It is the only way to save us all from the darkness.” As soon as the man spoke, he was knocked backward by a blow from one of the remaining orcs, but another man beat the creature back with a rusty sword. It definitely seemed like a stalemate, which was close to teetering one way or another depending upon the next big move on either side’s part. Behind the men, the wooden door stood open as if it was inviting the group of heroes inside. ----- ”I think it is time to cause some more chaos,” he muttered as he blew on the ball in front of him. This was definitely going to cause someone to shriek in fear if anything did, and that brought a smile on his face. ---- A gust of wind swept through the street, and it quickly accumulated into a cloud of dust that swept through the area. Once it passed, it would become quite clear to the group that two of their members had suddenly vanished without a sound, which left a warrior clad martian and a rather small number left standing there with a decision before them. (OOC: Alright, Aqualad and Beast Boy were removed magically. @vii and Miss Martian, you have two options before you. One is easy and the other is hard. You can defeat the orcs that remain and then proceed to the actual destination, or you can bypass the orcs and head straight for the basement. Either way, you end up there, but if you leave the orcs be then there is no telling what will happen until it is too late.
As for the basement, you will find a wizard that is incased in stone that has a lock upon it. You will need to figure a way to release him, and using your natural powers won't help. Once he is free from his prison, he will collapse to the ground from a wound on his side. One of you can save him if you think realy hard about it, so just remember what you have beem given. PM if you need help.)
