The world was different when he was like this. Every input was heightened, data processes were sped up and everything was a reaction to something else. It made him feel good, made him feel alive and powerful. In control for once. Everything made sense, no need to worry about anything but him and his target.
The attacks were slow at first, testing and pushing as he tried to work out her ability to fight back. His training told him that she was trained and pretty well, as he picked up her style and reaction times with his own attacks his mind found ways around them. Soon blows were connecting. She was talking and while he could hear, he refused to listen. Seven was not going to let her sway him again, he had listened to it all before and fell for it hook line and sinker. There was crashes as things broke as they tried to keep the other back or off balance.
Even after he had managed to hit her several times in places that would have crippled a human she was still standing. His ribs hurt from where she had connected with him. Reaching back Seven picked up a table leg and swung it with as much force as he could muster. Fully intent to remove the head from the girls body before he stopped just before contact with made.
She might have pushed this, she might have caused this part of him to surface but he didn't want to be a killer. With a clunk the leg dropped to the floor and Seven took a step back. The black orbs watching her still as he spoke, his tone cold and distant "I am not going back. Checkmate or Cadmus can not have me. Please do not push this or I will be forced to complete this objective."
Seven took a few steps back, carefully moving towards the door with gradual steps that kept him ready for her next attack. "I believed you. Then you attack me. I will not be deceived again." Everything he saw in terms of combat currently. Her attack in an attempt to subdue him ,the conversation and food. Saying she would teach him. Everything had been a plot to take him back and he had fallen for it. Send a mimic to trap a mimic. That made sense. Part of him wanted to strangle her, to make the hurt he was experiencing manifest itself on her.
With a slight bump Seven had his back against the door and slowly placed a hand on the handle.

It was strange, what she sensed emanating from the clone. He actually felt 'good' in this moment of life and death struggle; feeling energized and 'alive' and dare she even think he was feeling powerful and liking the control he had in this? In some ways it was understandable, a clone bred and trained to do one thing and constantly taking orders, being told when to sleep, what to eat, what to do, it would be natural to feel a lack of control and enjoy the small things that one could control. Of course this was a bad thing in the sense that if he only drew pleasure from this, if he felt his only means of control or power of himself was to be beating people up then he would develop and grow into a dangerously frightening person.
His attacks were slow at first, testing and pushing as he tried to work out her ability to fight back. M'gann could have used more of her abilities, could have even used her telepathy to put an end to this much earlier but she didn't want to let it get that far and she was really hoping that he would come to his senses of his own accord. He was good though, very good at the hand to hand combat, then again she probably shouldn't be surprised that was probably what he was bred and trained for. Soon though his blows were connecting. She tried talking to him as they fought but he wouldn't listen; refused to listen. Seven was stubbornly not willing to hear her, just like another clone she once knew. Things crashed and broke in her apartment as they tried to keep the other back or off balance.
Their last mini skirmish had M'gann using the wall to run up and flip over Seven so that she got in behind him. At the same time Seven had reached back and picked up a table leg and swung it with as much force as he could muster preventing M'gann from advancing on him like she wanted. While she was intent to simply subdue, Seven's full intent was to remove the head from the M'gann's body if seemed but just before it, he stopped. The young Martian blinked at the abrupt end to his attack, somewhat relieved that he didn't go through with it, not that she was worried about the injury as she had complete intent to just phase out and make his strike go through her, but it was because that meant there was still an ounce of humanity left in him. He wasn't just a mindless killing that took pleasure in the fight.
The chunk of table leg dropped to the floor and Seven took a step back. And M'gann took an audible sigh as she took a step back a small smile of relief on her face as she once again recognized the clone before her. He wasn't that milky glazed eyed killer clone but he was Seven once more.
"Seven..." she started to say, softly almost exhaling his name as she started to talk, only he cut her off.
"I am not going back. Checkmate or Cadmus cannot have me. Please do not push this or I will be forced to complete this objective." The black orbs watched her still as he spoke, his tone cold and distant.
But at least he isn't trying to kill me. M'gann thought to herself. She watched as Seven took a few steps back, carefully moving towards the door with gradual steps that kept him ready for her next attack.
"I'm not going to take you back to anything and certainly not Cadmus or Checkmate. I know what Checkmate is capable of and I wouldn't wish that on anyone let alone take them there." she said.
"I believed you. Then you attack me. I will not be deceived again."
"What?! Attack you? I didn't..." M'gann was confused. "I wasn't..." When did she attack him? The last thing she did was try to...
"Oh..."
Realization struck and uncharacteristically the young Martian slumped back against the opposing wall and started chuckling, her chuckling moving to a louder more lively giggle, to then full out laughter at what had happened and how it all escalated to this. He thought she tried to kill him when she moved to hug him earlier. Oh Lord, she had a bit of explaining to do.
"Ok...sorry. It's just. Once you realize how this started you will find it just as comical as I do." M'gann said trying to explain. Taking a breath to ease the giggles M'gann started to explain.
"Listen, if you want to leave I won't stop you, but hear me out first." she said. "I wasn't trying to kill you or capture you to take you to Cadmus. I was trying to give you a hug." she started chuckling again at the thought of it all. "It's what people do sometimes to convey ...affection? Or greet one another or in my case it was to say thanks cause of what you said about me. I suppose it could have looked like I was going to grapple you or something." she giggled again.
"But believe me, if I wanted to take you down I could have without even lifting a finger. Remember the Cadmus men at the stairwell and then at the roof?" m'gann tapped her head and smiled. "Trust me. I am not working for Cadmus or Checkmate and I was not out to hurt you. I even tried to stay away from hitting you where I patched you up."
Looking back up at Seven from across the room. "Seven, I didn't want to hurt you...was never my intent and I'm sorry if I made you feel threatened. And I won't try to hug you again, I promise." she said. "Well unless you ask me to." she joked hoping that diffused the situation and cleared things up for him.

His hand moved away from the handle as she spoke, her reaction was strange but when she spoke it became clearer. He had reacted wrongly in the situation, completely and utterly misread it.
What he had assumed was the motions for an attack was actually supposed to be something nice?
Duplicating her sliding down the surface until he sat with his back to the door and watched her, he was aware of something inside him that was something new again.
It was like a strange lightness across his entire self. He was pleased that she had not betrayed him but it was more than that.
It started off as a odd chuckle and like her it built up until it consumed his entire body as he continued to laugh.
He had no idea why his body was doing it but it was clear it was a reaction to the feeling he was experiencing.
Most people would call it relief but the clone didn't know the word yet.
"I am sorry. I reacted without thinking. I knew you could shut me down like the others. It is why I attacked so quickly." Most people would feel awkward or something when admitting they made a mistake but to Seven it was just a fact. He had been in the wrong and that was it.
His eyes were back to normal now, his mind shifted back to its normal setting. "I am extremely pleased to know that trust is still in place. I will replace the objects I have damaged." Seven ran a hand down his side to check how bad the attacks he took were, some bruising it would seem but that would heal quickly.
"I am not used to the term Affection. It was not shown in Cadmus. I am sorry for ruining your display of it. Though I am unsure of the conditions that it should be requested or the correct reciprocations." With a soft bump Seven rested his head against the door and took in a deep breath, for what seemed like a rather human moment but it was actually to check for damage to his lungs and ribs. The pain wasn't anything he couldn't block out so he didn't pay it any more note.
"This evening isn't normal is it?" Seven looked over at the Martian and smirked for the first time "Normal people do not do all of this in one space of time. If so I am unsure if I would wish to repeat this over and over. It seems excessive and could lead to stress."

M'gann watched as Seven's hand moved away from the handle as she spoke and tried to explain that she wasn't trying to kill him or take him back to Cadmus or Checkmate. She couldn't help but smile though when Seven himself started to chuckle and then roll into a full on laugh that the young Martian could not help but follow in as the general notion of how it all started snowballed into an all out brawl between the two was now in retrospect kind of comical considering it built from an intended hug of thanks. Their laughter finally settled and the two just seemed to stare at one another from opposite sides of the room, both with their backs against the wall and slumped down onto the floor.
"I am sorry. I reacted without thinking. I knew you could shut me down like the others. It is why I attacked so quickly."
"It's fine, don't worry about it. I should have known something as simple as a hug would be foreign to you as I doubt Cadmus was big on showing affection. So, I can't exactly fault your reaction to me trying to hug you."
M'gann watched with some relief as his eyes were back to normal now, his mind shifting back to its normal setting. "I am extremely pleased to know that trust is still in place. I will replace the objects I have damaged."
"You don't have to, it's ok. The place needed new furniture anyways." M'gann joked casting the clone an understanding smile when she noticed how he was running a hand down his side to check how bad the attacks he took were.
"Are-are you alright?" M'gann suddenly asked with a bit of concern. She'd tried to pull her punches back a considerable amount considering her Martian strength, but she was now worried that maybe it wasn't enough and he was still hurt or in pain. "I'm sorry for hitting you, but there were some moments I just needed you to back off and I couldn't get you to without striking to push you back...are you hurt badly?" she asked concern lining her voice as she got up and walked over to Seven just as her hand raised and a few moments later a bag of frozen peas flew out of the kitchen and into her hand as she carefully approached Seven and knelt down near him to place the bag of cold peas on where she struck him the hardest.
"Let me have a look..." she said inspecting his injuries and then placing the bag of peas on the ones that would aid in lessening the swelling. "Here put this on that area there." she said as she carefully put the frozen bag of peas on Seven's worst injury.
"It should help with the swelling." she offered as her hand lifted once again to catch another flying bag of frozen vegetables then placed it on another area of swelling. "I am sorry for hitting you...I tried to avoid it when I could." she confessed though guilt kept her from looking up at him. Then Seven asked about affection causing the young Martian to look up at the clone.
"I am not used to the term Affection. It was not shown in Cadmus. I am sorry for ruining your display of it. Though I am unsure of the conditions that it should be requested or the correct reciprocation."
"Well, affection is a general fondness on has for a person which sometimes is shown in a physical form, like a hug. You were very kind with what you said about me and I wanted to show my thanks at that time with a hug. You didn't really 'ruin' anything. It was just a hug of thanks. But seeing as how it makes you uncomfortable, I won't be forcing that on to you."
With a soft bump Seven rested his head against the door and took in a deep breath, for what seemed like a rather human moment but it was actually to check for damage to his lungs and ribs. The pain wasn't anything he couldn't block out so he didn't pay it any more note.
"Seven?" M'gann asked suddenly unsure of what was going on or maybe it was something she said again. From where she knelt holding the frozen bag of vegetables she looked with concern at him as she felt that he was in some pain. "You alright?" she asked, more concern lining her voice.
"This evening isn't normal is it?" Seven looked over at the Martian and smirked for the first time that M'gann noticed.
A soft smile creased the Martian's lips as a low chuckle escaped. Tilting her head to look at his bruised form as she hooked some pieces of stray red tussled hair behind her ear as she faced him to talk.
"No, this entire night has been far from normal. I'm sorry for that." she said when finally meeting his eyes apologetically. This wasn't exactly the way she had planned to show him the greatness of life away from Cadmus.
"Normal people do not do all of this in one space of time. If so I am unsure if I would wish to repeat this over and over. It seems excessive and could lead to stress."
"No, 'normal' people do not do all of this. Though I would completely understand if you didn't want to come by again. I haven't exactly made the best impression for you on how life would be like outside of Cadmus. But just know that life out here is better than in a lab."
"I really am sorry for hurting you though." M'gann said apologetically.

"I want too." Seven said quickly, eager to make her aware that even after that slight hiccup he was still wanting to see her again "Though I would understand if your patience was strained by my presence." With a thoughtful look Seven took over holding one of the frozen bags and holding it against the t-shirt for a bit frowned softly before shifting his seating position before removing the offending material. A few bruises here and there but he didn't seem bothered by them as he placed the bag he held against the ones that seemed worst.
It was pretty obvious that she was fine, he had attacked her full on and here he was the one that was bruised and worse for wear. It was getting clearer and clearer that she was not human. "There is no need to be sorry for anything you have done. I don't think I could thank you enough for tonight. I feel alive and can ignore.."Seven smirked a little and inhaled softly "outside doesn't exist. You do not treat me like a clone or a soldier. I do not have the words to express how that feels. To be seen as more than that." Seven gave a thoughtful look before moving forward carefully in a motion similar to M'ganns before and slide his arms around her sides and hugged her as best as possible in the sitting position he was in. It had taken him a moment to process the movement she had made after she had said that trying to hug someone wasn't an attack, that had been added to the many times he had seen people express that gesture in public. It still felt off to him, to be that close and not be trying to damage them but he hoped that perhaps she would understand that he trusted her enough to allow it without judging it as an attack now. With her at least, Seven wasn't sure he would allow anyone else this close. Perhaps Kat, but that would need to be seen. He had a lot to tell her now, he really needed her to explain things too. Like this affection thing and attraction, body responses and emotions. Had she had to deal with all this? Perhaps she would have ways to figure it out, he considered him lucky to have met both Kat and M'gann. Between them Seven had a lot of hope for his future.
"Thank you M'gann." He was speaking softer, most likely due to how close they were now.

"I want too." Seven said quickly, eager to make her aware that even after that slight hiccup he was still wanting to see her again "Though I would understand if your patience was strained by my presence."
"No, not at all." M'gann answered, equally as quickly as Seven had answered her prior. She wouldn't mind seeing him again if he wanted to and it would give him a chance to learn more and M'gann to show him. He just seemed so vulnerable in an influencing type of way and having seen and felt first hand what he could do made her want to make sure he was on the straight and narrow. There was no telling what could happen in the wrong hands or influence rather. Plus there was a part of her that didn't mind him being around, if she was at all honest with herself; she didn't mind his company.
There was a thoughtful look that crossed Seven's face as he held one of the frozen bags against his t-shirt, then frowned softly.
"What is it?" M'gann asked in concern as she looked at him for a visual cue. But then Seven shifted his seating position then removed the offending material; his shirt. Oh Lord, M'gann thought. A few bruises littered his skin in patches making M'gann feel that much worse but he didn't seem bothered by them as he placed the bag of frozen peas he held against the ones that seemed worst.
M'gann averted her eyes from the damage she did to him. "Seven...I'm really sorry." how many times could she say this before this horrible feeling went away?
"There is no need to be sorry for anything you have done. I don't think I could thank you enough for tonight. I feel alive and can ignore.."Seven smirked a little and inhaled softly causing M'gann to look up in concern at the inhaled breath. Was he ok? "outside doesn't exist. You do not treat me like a clone or a soldier. I do not have the words to express how that feels. To be seen as more than that."
"It's because you aren't a soldier...not anymore. And you are more than just a clone...you are Seven." M'gann smiled. She of all people knew how important it was to have an identity. And then suddenly, Seven did the unthinkable in the Martians eyes.
Carefully he moved in a motion similar to M'ganns before and slid his arms around her sides, the young Martian stiffened slightly until she felt his arms wrap around her in what seemed like a hug...He hugged? Ok so the motion caused M'gann to stiffen more at first out of surprise but then lean into him as he held and pulled her closer to the hug position and in his seated state the Martian had two choices, be stiff and awkward about it or fold into him so as not to be in a weird position. Her arms then slowly slid across the skin as he'd removed his shirt earlier she had no choice in the matter and while normally something like this would have sent her into a red ball of embarrassment, the bruising and injuries to his back that now showed from their fight quashed all embarrassment and filled it with guilt. Her fingers moved across his back slowly, splaying and covering the area she'd struck in an almost apologetic and gentle manner.
"Seven--" she started as she closed her eyes not wanting to look anymore at what she did but uncertain that words could really make up for what she did, only his words and soft voice stopped her.
"Thank you M'gann." He said sounding softer than he ever had before, most likely due to how close they were now.
The young Martian simply clenched her eyes tighter and buried her face into his neck as he hugged her in thanks unable to voice anything really she just simply held on and nodded, her fingers still splayed gently over the bruises she'd made on him. She simply exhaled softly before pulling away, the moment breaking when a concerned knock at the door sounded.
"Megan dear! It's Mrs Barkley, hun is everything alright in there?" her sweet old woman from next door had come in to check on her.
Getting to her feet she helped Seven rise as well, if he needed the help, the flush on her cheeks happening again when her eyes accidentally landed on his torso because really the boy needs to be wearing a shirt for all the distraction and heat it was causing to her head.
"Megan, can you open the door hun?"
Opening the door a slightly the young Martian smiled. "Uhm hi M's Barkley..."
"Child there was a loud commotion, sounded like it was coming from your apartment. Are you alright ?"
"Yes, I'm sorry I was just uhm...moving furniture and --"
"Oh...I see." Mrs Barkley's voice changed slightly when she saw the faintest glimpse of a shirtless Seven. "See to it that you're a little quieter with your 'Moving of furniture'"
M'gann's eyes bulged as she bawked at the woman's implication. "But I wasn't...we weren't--"
"I'm old child but not dumb, believe me I know a thing or two about 'moving furniture'. Just be quieter about it I can't hear my Jeopardywith all that ... 'furniture moving'."
Oh God M'gann wanted to die...like seriously wanted to die.
M'gann shut the door and closed her eyes leaning her head back to thud lightly on the door.
"I just can't even..." M'gann muttered in closed eyed mortification.

The closeness was nice, better than nice Seven decided. He could see the appeal in it now, the closeness and sensation of another person pressed against you. Then it was over, a knock at the door and a voice he didn't know was asking questions. Seven's eyes darted to the room, not in a its a mess way but in a lets get something to protect yourself with. It became clear quickly though that the voice wasn't a hostile, in fact it seemed to be someone M'gann was friends with. Though it was clear from how the girl was reacting that something wasn't exactly right. They were both standing and Seven figured it was best that he put the t-shirt back on, which he did while walking towards the table. It also gave him a chance to see this Mrs Barkley who he gave a friendly smile as he tugged the shirt back over his head and moved out of sight again.
From the reaction M'gann gave from the topic of moving furniture Seven was a little confused, first of all it was a deceit but an understandable one. Violence was not something people enjoyed as much as he did, that had been clear rather early on. Yet she was reacting in a way that didn't match up to the falsehood. In fact she was acting like she was when attracted to him. Seven had felt it a little when they had been hugging but this was different. It had a defensive tone to it.
Just like that it was over, the older woman was gone and M'gann was resting her head against the door. Something had changed again and Seven was clueless what it was. "You do not have to worry. We shall not fight again and therefore there will be noise to disturb the jeopardy. Unless moving furniture is the issue, I can put it back exactly where it was or not. I am unsure what has occurred. It went from dealing with a hug to you against the door ashamed. Did I cause this?" Seven looked at the room and frowned a little, he had caused that. Was this a chain reaction that was due to the fight. It made sense that it could be but now it seemed he had done something bad to M'gann which was not what he had wanted at all.
He took a couple of steps towards her and stopped, perhaps that was the issue. Them being close like that had brought some sort of authority figure to bear on them to put an end to it. He had seen similar effects from females looking at males for another male to come along and dissuade them from that course of action, or a male looking at a female for the female next to them to take offence and demand it stopped. It was also a sign that the world still existed outside and was reacting to what was happening to them inside here. As much he would liked to ignore Cadmus and the meeting earlier, it was still out there. Still searching for him.
"I should leave." He was already looking for where his jacket was as he spoke "If I leave the city then Cadmus will see me there and you will be safe. I can't have them find you." Stopping he looked at her and smiled a little "We can meet again? When things are safer." Seven tugged his jacket on and looked between the door and the window, would sneaking out cause more issues for the girl who had been so kind to him? "If i had my way, I would never leave. Cadmus will still be looking for me here. It seems I have caused you enough problems with Mrs Barkley. A Full tactical team would be worse than moving furniture."

"You do not have to worry. We shall not fight again and therefore there will be noise to disturb the jeopardy. Unless moving furniture is the issue, I can put it back exactly where it was or not. I am unsure what has occurred. It went from dealing with a hug to you against the door ashamed. Did I cause this?" Seven looked at the room and frowned a little.
"It's fine, don't worry about the furniture. I can move it just as easily." she smiled. She wasn't altogether worried about fighting him either, she was trained by Black Canary after all and up until a year ago her sparring partners consisted of powerhouses like Superboy, and Wondergirl, as well as tactical fighters like Nightwing and Batgirl so it wasn't really the fighting or the furniture that had M'gann all worried at first. It was now having to live through the looks and thoughts of Mrs. Barkley.
M'gann suddenly sensed that the clone blamed himself for what ever happened and she needed to rectify that. He had taken a couple of steps towards her and then stopped causing the Martian to cast him an understanding look.
"Seven...it's not your fault. People are just...funny is all." she said rather cryptically. "It's fine, really."
She watched his eyes dart from one end of the room then the other as if perhaps looking for an exit. "You looking for something, like the exit maybe?" she asked trying rather badly to make light of a situation that was probably altogether not very funny. It was a bad joke really. "Sorry, bad joke."
"I should leave." Seven said as he was already looking for where his jacket was as he spoke "If I leave the city then Cadmus will see me there and you will be safe. I can't have them find you." Stopping he looked at her and smiled a little "We can meet again? When things are safer." Seven tugged his jacket on and looked between the door and the window as if contemplating the best exit strategy.
"If i had my way, I would never leave. Cadmus will still be looking for me here. It seems I have caused you enough problems with Mrs Barkley. A Full tactical team would be worse than moving furniture."
"Heh, Cadmus doesn't know you're here. Those men at the school I took out won't remember anything about seeing us there." M'gann said with a sly smile and a tap to the side of her temple. "Look, I can't stop you if you want to leave, but you're welcome to stay the night if you have nowhere to go. I'm pretty sure my couch is much more comfortable than a park bench or something."

Seven stopped his planning of exit and regarded her curiously "Are you asking me to stay?" Truthfully Seven thought she would want him gone after what had just happened, to get her life back on track and let the Clone go on his way. He certainly wouldn't have blamed her, it was the logical thing to do. Yet it would appear that logic didn't always factor into choices being made by either of them this evening.
Seven also had to ask himself if he wanted to leave, which he already knew he didn't, Life would be perfect it was like this all the time. Or maybe not. His eyes darted to the window briefly, there was so much outside this place that he wanted to learn. Still, this place was safe and he was sure there was more he could learn in it but it was still one room in a world full of new things. Things he needed to learn to make sense of everything else. Was there a time limit, did he have a finite span of time to locate and learn all knowledge? M'gann was one part of so much more, he had to work out what he was feeling and for that he needed other input. He might not be completely aware of things but he understood that talking to her about it was not the best course of action. He needed a third party to analyse what was going on and tell him the best course of action.
It all really depended on her answer, didn't it? The clone wanted to stay, her company alone was worth the risk of Cadmus finding them but if what the girl had said then perhaps there truly was no danger to be wary of. Like everything else this seemed to be an answer that led to even more questions. How could anyone act without knowing everything about the situation? Without knowing the right action to take or path to take but it seemed like humans did it all the time. It felt like he was doing it now.
That was it, Seven realised. All this time since he had been free, on the run and constantly running. It all had created a feeling of being lost. Completely alone in the world and isolated. He had met Katt, that had made him understand that there was others like him, that there was people who could aid him but this, M'gann, this was completely different. The way she spoke to him, the way she treated him with kindness and understanding. That gave him a sense of hope and calm. Here, with her, Seven didn't feel lost at all. He felt like he could achieve what he wanted in time because she was going to be there to help him. That feeling, above all the others that she had caused in him over the hours was the thing he never wanted to go away.

M'gann saw him stop, practically saw in his eyes that he had stopped his planning of exit and regarded her curiously "Are you asking me to stay?"
It probably did seem strange to the clone to have some total stranger who just went a few rounds with him to now suddenly be asking him to stay, but well M'gann wouldn't be M'gann if she didn't. She knew Cadmus was after him; knew he was in danger. She also had a feeling he didn't really have any real place to go and she couldn't just unleash him out into the world to fend for himself, sleep on a park bench on this cold night and probably eat out of garbage bins. It was just wrong and M'gann could not do that to anyone. Least of all Seven who she has grown to know more than just a common stranger and someone she genuinely wanted to help.
"I guess I am...yes." she nodded with a smile. "If you want to that is."
She took those few steps closer to him so that they could talk normally rather than from across the room and then spoke. "It is no trouble really. I can get out the extra blankets and pillows. You can sleep out here. It's warmer and my couch is much more comfortable than a park bench I can assure you...and safer. Really it's the least I can do for banging you up and stuff...plus someone's got to redress that bullet wound tomorrow." she tried to reason.
"I mean, unless you have somewhere safe to stay, like your contact; whoever they are. But if you have no where to go, then why not stay here?" she asked.
"The night i mean...stay the night. But here on the couch. While I sleep in my room...yeah."
Oh Lord, the awkward blushing again. it didn't quite come out the way she wanted it to but it was innocent enough and her only saving grace or at least she hoped was that he did not understand it all.

She asked him to stay, it was a simple request but you didn't have to be a super soldier clone to see the change in her body language as if the words held a meaning he couldn't grasp but he could tell from the blush that it was something related to the attraction thing from before.
When it came down to it, he didn't want to leave. Never had wanted too but he wanted to keep her safe and Cadmus away from her. Only way he could do that was to not be around her. That wasn't going to happen, Seven could tell that already. Whatever had started tonight he wanted to understand it, to know why her cheeks flushed a little sometimes, why his body temperature rose around her and why she was able to cause reactions in him like she was. Unlike most of the puzzle that was life, this seemed like something that he really had to know. Wanted to know even.
"I will stay." He said thoughtfully, they hadn't caught up with him yet and resting here was better than finding a safe dry place some place. "My contact lives in another city, I travel to learn more." Seven nodded once softly before stretching a little, the wound on his back was healing fine but it would be another day before it was gone completely. It had been a clean wound and one he was designed to recovered quickly from. Still it wouldn't do to take any chance it became infected. Now he had to wonder why he was trying to find reasons to stay when she had asked him too. Was she doing the same thing? If only he had a way to look into her thoughts, that would have solved everything for the clone.
"The couch will be perfect, thank you." Seven took his attention to her and to the aforementioned couch, taking a few steps towards it. It was definitely better than anything he had rested on before. Even his cot at Cadmus had been a slab with a blanket more or less. So this would be five star luxury. If Seven had known what Five star and luxury were that is.
Having had time to process what she had said and the reaction to it Seven had formed a series of thoughts. She had emphasised that they would be resting separately, which meant that was not always the case. People must rest together for some reason. Like the hugging it must be some sort of affection thing. Which led him to a single conclusion "I have just learned about hugging, I do not thing learning about resting in your bed with you is a good idea for tonight." The dark haired man gave her a smile before motioning to the couch "I will be fine here. Maybe another time once I have learned more? I would hate to get it wrong again."

"I will stay. My contact lives in another city, I travel to learn more." Seven nodded once softly.
"Well tomorrow morning if you want I can show you around if you're here to learn more about the city." M'gann offered. "Though you should really consider planning your travels to know where you will be staying if you go city to city." M'gann advised. "Sleeping under bridges or on park benches should not be considered viable options. If you travel to Metropolis, you are welcome here. Just give me a heads up so I know you're coming."
"The couch will be perfect, thank you." Seven had said when she mentioned that her couch would be much more comfortable than a park bench.
M'gann then went on to reaffirm the sleeping arrangements, because her initial wording could have been misconstrued and she wanted to make sure that Seven understood that this was an offer to help and not...yeah just not. Even the possibility of that kind of misunderstanding drew on a light flush on her cheeks, though there was small consolation that he perhaps did not understand the potential misunderstanding that she was totally not offering for him to stay the night 'with' her, but rather 'at' her place for the sake of not being out in the cold. And just when she thought it could not get any more awkward...it totally did.
"I have just learned about hugging, I do not think learning about resting in your bed with you is a good idea for tonight." The dark haired man gave her a smile before motioning to the couch. "I will be fine here. Maybe another time once I have learned more? I would hate to get it wrong again."
Oh Lord. If it were at all possible for her to go an extra shade of red it just happened. In fact it felt like the temperature in the apartment had risen to insane degrees even if that wasn't the case at all. Her mouth dropped at the words trying to form something, to get it out but she was still caught in that moment of half disbelief and half realization and self mortification.
~OH MY GOD!~ internally she reeled. Externally she went into damage control.
"I uhm no, not another time. That's just not going to happen. I mean that I'm not...we're not...you have to be...we're..." Lord how does she even begin to explain? "It's complicated and it's late. So how about we table that for another time. The explanation! Not the sleeping thing or I mean there will be sleeping now, cause we're all going to be sleeping just apart. In separate rooms...away from one another. Not together...yeah." she turned around quickly to get the comforter, pillows and sheets. That went horribly.
Oi vey. She shut her eyes from the embarrassing recap of awkwardness as she pulled down the sheets and blankets he'd need, and grabbing a pillow from the copious amounts she had on her bed; she liked having lots of pillows.
She came back out composed as she laid out the stuff for him on the couch working quietly to set it up; afraid to say something else that could go wrong. Once done though she turned around.
"Ok you're all set." she said motioning to the couch turned makeshift bed with a smile. "Your bed."
And with that she moved towards her room turning back once to say to the clone. "Good night Seven."

From her reaction Seven drew a rather rapid conclusion, whatever the topic of the conversation was it was not something he understood it as being. From the extent of the reaction Seven concluded that this 'sleeping together' thing was a level of affection beyond hugging. Something M'gann had just told him was never going to happen though considering how people spoke perhaps that she didn't mean forever and meant at this time. It was hard to determine what people meant in what they said at times.
Sitting on the couch Seven got comfortable and shut his eyes. The clone didn't sleep like a human would, it was more like power naps. It gave him time to let his mind work unhindered and process without anything else going on around it. Three hours later his eyes opened again and he silently got up and wandered the home a little. Stopping to put everything he had broken into a pile. He also put a pile of money on the table, it was what he had left from the last few fights but Seven hoped that it would cover the things he had broken. After everything she had done for him it seemed wrong to let the mistake go without compensation.
As he continued his wandering he stopped at her room door and watched her as she lay resting in her bed, a slight smile flickered across the clones face as the events of the night, the memories that he had would be capped off with the memory of her at peace and content with her sleep.
As he made his way to the door Seven stopped and looked around, it felt wrong to leave with out saying thank you again but he didn't want to wake her. So instead he mused another way to say it. He didn't know how to write so that was out of the picture. Picture. That was what he needed. Finding the Martian's phone Seven took a moment to work out the function he wanted. So with phone in hand Seven took his first Selfie saved saved with a simple clip of him saying 'Thank You'
Happy now that he had set everything right that he could, the soldier clone made his way back out into the night. More than sure that he would see the red head again, soon if he had his way.
